100% agreed on everything here. It's sad but the reality is that there is just no benefit in it for the average guy to be married these days. It's all work, all risk, zero rewards. Unles you happen to hit the jackpot and find the perfect wife (i.e., does not exist) and you get perfect offspring (i.e., does not exist) and manage to maintain perfect living conditions (i.e., does not exist). Even then, there's still the risk of her finding someone she thinks is better and taking off. The thing is, for the average guy, being left and losing everything is always going to be on the back of your mind, even in "fair" states. It's just an unappealing situation all the way around for men.

Just as there’s a risk of divorce laws changing in your state, there’s also a chance the financial dynamic between two people will change over time. A man often loses his woman after losing his employment if he can’t scramble quickly enough to find an income as good as the one he lost. The hypergamy of so many women and their tendency to value men as resource objects makes LTRs incredibly risky. That was the slap in the face wake up moment for me about 7 years ago and why I’ve chosen to remain single. With these new eyes, I haven’t yet met a woman I’d want to date. Sad but true. I meet more compatible women abroad in countries where the values are more traditional and laws are better for men. It’s enough reason to relocate. Cheaper and safer lifestyle as well. Easier for men of modest means to be attractive success objects in poorer countries. Like it or not, that’s reality.
