Same concept as learning to cook. You do your research and it’s trial and error. I started roasting because I got hooked on Blue Mountain coffee from Jamaica but it’s so expensive. Found a distributor who sells them and had a friend from Jamaica taste my roasted coffee and confirmed it was legit Blue Mountain quality.
So instead of getting a trained artistian to roast my coffee, I get my self, a clueless consumer, to roast the coffee
