I am 5 weeks post-op - Abdominoplasty w/severe DR repair (separation was >5 inches across). Registered Nurse here - not planning on returning to work until week 7 and I don't even think that is enough time for heavy lifting of patients and equipment. Everyone is different, but it the job one has is physical - will need more time.
4 week post op full tummy tuck with liposuction in flanks, i can walk dogs for around 30 min, i can , i go to work 5 hours per day (office work) i cant do aerobic exercises, no swollen, no pain, getting stronger every day, im pretty good. 44 years old, fitness body. I cant sneeze 😊 bcs of diastasis repair.
60 yrs. old going in on 5/29/24 TT w/ Mussel repair. I work in a dispensary so I declined pain meds. I will use RSO 110 mg. as needed. Thank you for a good video
@@timeswithamber5236 My pain tolerance is high. I've had so many surgeries on my abdomen it isn't even funny. I just had lipo with fat transfer to my breast back in Oct. I had a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction but never had the fat transferred for a natural look. I hope you feel better soon!! .
Tummy tuck, lipo out eight weeks. Everything else fine Drink plenty water and protein shakes helps with recovery . Restrict salt and wear faja especially when exercising to prevent swelling. Only issue with removing drains took longer then planned that’s why it took eight weeks out,
I’m 3 1/2 weeks post op and l learned that NO sodium is the best dealing with swelling and pain. Those protein shakes everyone is saying to drink have sodium. Really almost everything has sodium. Smh. I check everything I eat for sodium. Since doing that I feel so much better.
I took 3 weeks off work because I didn't have enough PTO (it was 1 years worth of saved up PTO) I went back to work and it was awful, I had to delegate a lot, I would get light headed and was so fatigued when I got home. If I could go back, I'd take STD until I got to 5 or 6 weeks. I also had a fair amount of complications. I.e. persistent seroma, hematoma blood clot, seroma encapsulation/psuedobrusa, infection. All these happened at the 2-3 week mark and had a dominoe effect. By 2 months po I had the psuedobrusa diagnosed. Currently, 4 months post op and still dealing with it.😢
I would like to know when I might expect to get in and out of bed by myself (propped up with pillows, of course)? Thanks for the video with such good information about recovery.
I got in and out of bed right away. I used a step stool and a reclining head area bed...I used a triangle wedge pillow under my legs w an extra pillow. I just walked my legs up the stool...then the bed then and finally onto the triangle pillow 1 at a time. At first, I had someone try to help me, but that hurt way more than just doing it myself this way.
Question how much different is recovery with a panniculectomy compared to a tummy tuck? I am 30 days out from a panniculectomy and abdominoplasty and the recovery is worrying me
A panniculectomy is generally an easier and faster recovery because there is NO muscle repair and it is less invasive. If you are having a hard time 30 days out, contact your surgeon and be seen.
Thank you so much, I was researching that info and couldn't find anything about the muscle wall. Doc said they are cutting me from breast bone to pelvis and hip to hip. I lost 137 lbs and have an apron that lays on my legs. I get rubbed raw, puss and sometimes bleed. I'm so glad he will not be messing with my muscle wall . Doc didn't really say what the steps of the procedure were. He just said the name of the procedure. So I have been studying and learning all I can. Everything I find says tummy tuck or abdominoplasty. I couldn't find much about a panniculectomy. Thank you for answering my question.
My surgery is 1/4. TT without MR. Vaser Liposuction Flanks, Back and Abdomen. When will I be able to walk on the treadmill. Also, I will only have help for 2 days will I be fine since I won’t have muscle repair? Quicker recovery? Hope so. Had a breast reduction w/side lipo in August and did great.
Hey. I had a TT 12/6. I’m on Day 3. If you are doing this by yourself… make sure your apartment or home is staged and set like mine is. I’m alone. I did have a friend stay with me the night I had my surgery and it’s been a struggle but I’m making it! Good luck to you!

Slllllllooooooowwwww. I am in the 3rd week and I get tired so quickly. This can be a brutal procedure and recovery
It took me 12 weeks off work, and still had pain at work for another 2 weeks. My job is strenuous, a lot of physical.

What's the different between the tummy tuck and Extended tummy tuck?
an extended tummy tuck is used when there is excess skin that extends past the sides, and requires a longer scar.
Do cosmetic facilities fill out fmla/pfmla documentation for time off after surgery?
