The American economy is nothing but government spending. The only jobs are in government, or healthcare or education, all of which are government funded, and then the hospitality industry, which pays very poorly. The private sector has been in recession for over a year and we are losing private sector jobs daily. This massive government spending to further the gullible warming hoax is what is causing inflation, and the interest rates that result from this pursuit of that hoax makes houses unaffordable. As usual, the problem is the government and all its "experts."
