    You're a great father sir. Father daughter time at the range was very adorable. Even though i don't need another gun, I just picked one up in Oregon before they force us to get a license for firearm purchase and a handgun proficiency class that ill have to take.

    Thanks for sharing. Was interested to see how the Equalizer would handle 147gr. Picked one up today with a Holosun HS407k optic. Haven't tried it yet at the range. Feels pretty solid, better than the EZ9 in my opinion. I do miss the simplicity of the single stack magazines though. By the way, the Shield Plus magazines are compatible with the Equalizer. Picked up an extra 13 rd magazine. Probably the best of the three mags included. S&W's got another winner here.

      You could feel the recoil more with the 147 grain bullets which is to be expected but it was not uncomfortable. Thanks for the info on the Shield Plus magazines. The Equalizer should be a good seller for Smith & Wesson.

    As I watched you give instructions to your daughter, it hit me. S&W put so much effort into making the EZ models, great for new shooters, and females. Why didn't they put a simple, dot of paint to indicate the "Fire / Safe" safety positions?
    Glad to see you giving instruction to your daughter! This was a good review, especially with her input and use. She might like the .380 version, until she gets older, but if she can shot a 9mm, then she is Good!

    • @DoubleEagleGunworks
      @DoubleEagleGunworks  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sometimes, it is the simple things that are missed. As you said, a dot of paint would be fairly simple. The EZ models are great for anyone who has problems racking the slide, male or female. As for my daughter, she can handle the 9mm. She just needs to practice more.

    I upgraded from a 380 EZ to an Equalizer. The extra rounds, 9mm, and optic ready features were great. I loved shooting the EZ and never felt underpowered with 380 so I miss it, but I’m looking forward to buying an optic to help my middle aged eyes with longer shots.

    • @DoubleEagleGunworks

      @@jimwlouavl low left is usually an issue with how you are cycling the trigger. I am assuming you are a right handed shooter. If you engage the other fingers of the right hand as you press the trigger, it has a tendency to pull the gun down to the left. Try to isolate the trigger finger as you cycle the trigger.

    Aww that's sweet. You can see her dip the muzzle to compensate for the recoil, I used to do that when my dad thought me to shoot handguns with a Glock 19 when I was just a bit younger than her. Took me a box of ammo or 2 to get the hang of trusting your sights. But my dad taught me second hand military style (His dad was an officer in the pacific war), would've gotten a chewing for pointing the gun in the wrong direction. Anyway, she just needs to adjust her grip and squeeze into the shot, taking 3 steady breaths between shots. She grouped those shots well though. The 9mm equalizer is a bit snappy I've noticed, but nothing you can't overcome quickly. It's a fun firearm. Merry Christmas.

    • @DoubleEagleGunworks
      @DoubleEagleGunworks  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, her form was not the best that day. She needs to adjust her grip. We will be working on that. The 147 gr also generated a little more recoil that she was used to as well. Merry Christmas!

    Glad to see how a youth handles the performance center 9mm ez an recoil, way to go dad teaching your daughter, I'm glad you compared both of these pistols, I think there great, I own the performance center 9mm ez an love it,o may just use it as home defense, I do love more capacity with the equalizer an it's ability to put on a red dot, but I believe I'd just get a few more 15 round magazines an be good to go for a edc gun,I love hoe they changed the serrations on the slide too,but would've liked to seen it with a ported barrel an loaded indicator to where you could mount a red dot, I also believe the recoil would've been easier for your daughter like the performance center, but like she said,probably cause she's not use to it yet. Great video

    I just purchased the Equalizer. I’m having so much trouble removing the slide. Haven’t shot it yet, just trying to break it down. I’m very careful not to touch the grip safety, although not easy with arthritis hands. It makes no difference and doesn’t move in any direction. Hopefully it will be easier when the gun is broken in 😢. Watching lots of videos on the Equalizer and don’t see anyone else having this trouble. Any suggestions?

    • @DoubleEagleGunworks
      @DoubleEagleGunworks  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Are you able to rack the slide? To take the gun apart, first drop the magazine. Then lock the slide to the rear by pushing up on the slide release while holding the slide to the rear. Once the slide is locked back, rotate the take down lever down. Then release the slide slowly and pull it off the front of the gun. You can put your hand on the grip, just don’t press down on the grip safety. It will push against the bottom of the slide making it harder to pull the slide off. I hope this helps.

    I'd like to see Emma fully load an EZ Shield magazine & then load an Equalizer magazine to at least 8 (with and without the loader).

      My girlfriend has an EZ Shield 9mm. She did a comparison loading of her EZ magazine & my double stacked Hellcat magazine (with an UpLuLa). She states that her EZ magazine is still way more easy and simpler to load. She also says that is important to her. Even though she is able to load a stiffer magazine and rack a stiffer slide, she feels more comfortable with the easier option - even if it means having less rounds.
      I'm curios to know which Emma will choose.

    SAFETY FIRST MATTERS!!!
    Glock is more of a combat weapon. No safety! Striker fired with a generic look. Bland.
    So it's not so good for the 'SAFETY un-habituated' handler.
    Equalizer (EQ) is a SAFER civilian personal defense tool with a REMOVABLE SAFETY (fine if u're habituated).
    It is HAMMER fired (research).
    All American!
    Thinner overall.
    Excellent speed-loader.
    Three mags to fit all hands.
    Loaded chamber peep hole.
    The artistic aesthetics of it are almost agelessly perfect.
    The intricacy of it's internals is astounding. Tinker not!
    If you have 'SAFETY un-habituated' handlers around you a lot, you want those newbies to be able to grab it and use it SAFELY to get y'all out of any sticky situation.
    Don't know if ii'd be comfortable with my Granddaughter handling any Glock (that is a stressing thought all by it self).
    We old-schoolers love those 1911 SAFETY features (research).
    Keeping it lubed and clean in a good holster is paramount.
    Get the EQ and you will NOT be disappointed.
    Perfect for he-men, women, children, and the older/infirm to manage.
    It will spoil you if you're used to non-easy slide pulls.
    If you put the Crimson Trace laser on it (better than red dot), please DO get a kydex holster to minimize microflexing off of zero (polymer on polymer has that flaw).
    Keep it simple with Hornady Lite Defense ammo.
    The game has changed forever in these regards.
    Don't be late catching up on this next-level technology.
    The above is more factual than opinionful.
