Having Frequency 2 as a Cubase pro stock phone option saved me having to buy something like Pro Q3.
Now my wish is that Steinberg updates Frequency to be closer to three body tech’s kirchhoff eq, by adding vintage console EQ emulation options and Robust-Nyquist Matched transform etc.
But most importantly, put Freqency 3 into the channel strip.
    That’d be sooooo amazing.
    One can dream.
I still absolutely love Frequency 2.

Another tip/workaround when using a band in M/S mode with external sidechain is to use automation to "tickle" the threshold for that band, or it will stop working between project restarts. Bug report has been filed so hopefully a fix soon, but in the meantime this fixes it. Very useful EQ for subtle dynamic shaping in a mix.

Excellent! Do u know if it can look at masking frequency overlaps by having individual instances of Freq2 recognize each other like Fab Filter Pro q3 can? Even if not, an amazing stock EQ! Ty yet again, Dom! ✌️✌️🙏🙏

Thanks for the demonstration. Here it seems to have a bug though in the mid/side dynamic eq... When the project is restarted the mid doesn't respond anymore. The side does. After moving the Threshhold slider or one of the dynamic knobs, it's functioning again. But that's not handy in a project with ten tracks with eq... Even with a clean start and empty project I can reproduce it everytime. I don't think it's in my system in which everything else functions okay...

hey Dom! its a great plugin like you said. but since cubase 12 and now also 13. Frequency doesnt trigger the sidechain input when you open a project when in m/s mode (using the M). thats the biggest problem. thats why i just use trackspacer. always triggering like the day before.

The addition of Frequency has been a great improvement to the Cubase family. However, I'm having an odd issue with it, and I was wondering whether anyone here had a similar experience. When I first set up the plugin for side-chaining, everything is reacting as it should. The graphs move according to the input / threshold as one would expect. The next time I open the Cubase session, however, the UI no longer reacts to audio. I can't tell whether it is a graphic bug, or whether the plugin itself has stopped processing. When I change the threshold -- jiggling it up and down, before I return to the initial value -- the interface wakes up, and the graphs start moving again. I'm using Cubase 12 on Windows 11, but I've had that same issue on C11 on Windows 10. I appreciate your insights.

great eq but lack of zoom function, especially if you want to make a tiny boost or cut e.g mastering situation. Great video as always

Totally. I’ve often found it frustrating that it doesn’t scale the db range to allow for more precise moves.

spend all time mixing and mastering then you play it in the car or home stereo and all this was a waste of time
