Thank you Seth for creating this video so I can send it to my wife like "Awww... look how cool this is!" when really it's just an elaborate ruse to get the Christmas present I want.
But to answer your question, there are a lot of co-op VR games. Also social programs like VRChat (though if Maddox is under 18, you wanna be careful with where he goes there.)
It warmed my HEART!!!! I lost my dad when I was 7 and when I first got into VR I was like "if only he was here to see this and play this with me. He loved gaming with me taking me to mountAsia and playing racing games on the PS1. He was a computer nerd helped develope the first touch pad notebook at Compaq and no doubt would have had the sickest gaming set up today.
I’d love to see Mike play and give feedback on a tactical shooter such as Ready Or Not. Not quite as immersive as vr, but it would be interesting to see a professionally tactical mind play a game like that
having seen a bunch of those types of videos (mainly gamology) they arent the greatest right away, as with everyone it takes time to learn the controls, specially if its someone whos not used to modern games. id still watch it tho
@@V1_The_Go-Pro i personally don’t like the boneworks/labs recoil, if you keep shooting it doesnt add up, so if you go full auto the gun will just jitter up and down instead of keep climbing up
On the off chance you develop VR games, just wanna toss a suggestion out there: Realism seems to be the way to go. Guns holstered on the hip, for example, feel better in game than guns that float a foot away from your belt.
VR opens up a lot of avenues for both fun and solo training, it helped me stay mobile over the tail end of the pandemic with boxing, sword fighting, and shooting. Super Hot is an awesome beginner game cause it's a mix of puzzles and skill based movement. Also if you want an awesome immersion shooter, I highly recommend "Into The Radius", its got pretty realistic weapon mechanics.
Dude thanks for bringing more people into VR... every time someone is inspired to get VR just by experiencing the outer layers of what it has to offer puts the largest smile on my face. Really appreciate what you are doing with this
Seth you're already the most likeable dude ever but man alive; your content is just getting better and better lately. Keep doing what you're doing bud it's grin inducing loveliness
Even though it is not a VR shooting game, a great game to let Mike, a former SWAT cop, play Ready or Not. That game is basically like SWAT or armed police at its work. One false or silly move and you are dead. Also, you are oblivious to the enemy's position, making it more tense and realistic.
When you said real life training was painful i thought you were gonna show the clip of Milke getting shot in the groin. But really good video surprised at the conclusion, it was informative and just watching you guys play games is really fun
Super Hot is also a great workout for all your small stabilizing muscles as you find yourself leaning backwards in a half crouch trying to not move an inch and think of a way to turns the tables on those red sons of guns.
I would really like to see him play Onward. It has the weapon manipulation he mentioned, relies heavily on making good tactical choices, and teamwork. All things I suspect he would excel in. I would also like to see how he plays Breachers. Awesome video! Thanks for sharing!
Seth I am for some reason so proud with the amount of views you got on this one. You're making it baby boy! Been here since the first bottle cap attempt my boy love to see the growth.
Lol, great video. Next time, show him Contractors VR! Or, if you've got a PCVR rig, Hotdogs Horseshoes and Hand Grenades if you want to go all in on gun mechanics.
Hey seth just wanta say man I watch all of your videos and I love what you do man. Always enjoy your stuff thanks for what you bring to the table laughs and joy everytime.
Mike may like H3VR, hotdogs horseshoes and handgrenades. The dev is adding support for custom scenarios and imo it had the absolute best gun simulations
6:48, 7:11, I see. Looks like attempting to make VR look more realistic makes it feel less realistic. I feel the same with sword fighting in VR. Adding too much physics/weight on the weapons make it feel very awkward. Skallagrim mention this as well. Didn't realize that's the same with gun fighting.
Almost forgot to say ... there *is* slow motion in Bonelab as well. Gotta press a button, and it's only slow motion while you're moving, but it's there. Has three levels: slow, super slow, and extreme slow (not the official terms, lol). Each subsequent press of the button dilates time further.
For realistic weapon handling on the quest, he should try into the radius! For target practice with adjustable difficulty, pistol whip is great especially if you remove the auto aim! We need a part 2!!
Awesome video! It's really cool to see, that Mike quickly solved multiple Superhot levels (probably due to his training), especially in comparison to his son. When I tried it at a friend's place I also found it pretty difficult to remain calm and move strategically between the enemies :D
Calmness and Functional IQ matter WAY more in VR than memorizing quirks and order of operations in traditional video games. I played a ww2 war game in VR and literally just hid in a bunker with alley and poked my VR arm around the wall and blindfired 40+ other humans without getting hit, They would see the gun come around the corner and just freeze and I was surprisingly good at hitting them with blind fire. And using an LMG to crouch under barriers and pop up and shoot while pepole are out of cover feels amazing in VR. Whats great about VR is HEAD MOVEMENT WORKS! (if you pre dodge before they pull the trigger or for thrown objects in VR)
Seth and @hard2hurt, Gun Club VR, Onward, and Ghosts of Tabor will all be better representatives of VR shooting than Superhot. Would be curious to see your takes on any of those since you're doing this sort of thing.
This video feels like my friends came over and we are taking turns playing Vr and I’m watching them play in real life and through casting and helping them and stuff
My favorite part about superhot is that you can turn your head and "watch the bullets" as they pass you to dodge them without actually moving because your hitbox is the camera works on vr and non vr versions
This is a great video just like your evaluation of Thrill of the Fight. You review it from a fighting perspective and identify what real life benefits they have. You two should figure out how to partner with a game dev to make something of your own.
Population one is a good one that has a lot of players and large teams. I’ve seen good things from contractors and onward also. There’s even some footage of a league from a few years ago where they played onward competitions in person. The are lots of multiplayer options on meta and steam marketplaces.
I’d love to see how Mike feels about Tactical Assault VR. It’s generally considered the most realistic tactical shooter in all of VR and could be exactly Mike’s lane
His complaint with BONELAB, specifically the complaint of ammo reloading… the mag does release (auto) but also it’s quite clear when you aren’t shooting anymore
to answer mikes question yeah there are tons of co op games you can play together with your kids. pavlov vr you guys can basically play as a swat team.
creed rise to glory is a boxing game whcih you can play a career thing, or pvp, it would be interesting to see how IRL experiance translates to fighting other people IN a game!
This is great, I would like to say I'm pretty sure there is a mag release button in Bonelab, as I know there was one in Boneworks, which I played a ton of
I couldnt edit for some reason but i wanted to add a PS: one more i would like to see if you do vr content again would be (i dont remember if you did this game before) Blade and Sorcery. Im probably forgetting some good recommendations, but oh well, not much i can do about what i want anyways!
Space Pirate Trainer is a game that Mike and Maddox could play against eachother. It's almost like what you did with Mike IRL with the one on one shooting scenario.
To answer the question at the end, there are plenty of games to play together in VR. If you're looking for games with guns, there's Pavlov VR, Contractors, Onward, Echo VR/Echo Combat, and a couple others. I think most if not all of those are available on the quest.
I did a couple rounds and got so out of breath I thought I was having a heart attack for a moment... after surviving real confrontations, I thought it ironic a virtual boxer might actually really kill me. Lol Was impetus to start cardio again
Definitely should try Onward VR, the gun manipulation in that game is different for every gun, cover is a must, and every bullet counts! In terms of gun realism, Onward VR is definitely top tier
A huge part of urban warfare is the complex coordination and teamwork between the soldiers, the squad leaders and the platoon leaders, how in an optimal scenario all of it just should just flow, so a cooler video would be if you could bring in an entire swat team or squad of soldiers who are well practiced/drilled in it together as a team! Anyways, love your content, and know every video isn't exactly optimal science or anything, cheers!
It would be cool if supa hot had structurally compromised cover, e.g. things colored in light grey will eventually become compromised after a [instert low number] of shots and enemies can shoot through it; things colored darker grey will be able to take more shots than light grey, ect. Maybe it would fit better as a type of mode/difficulty you can adjust in the game. This video was a fun watch, Seth. Your videos are always fresh and exciting 👍

Hey mike have you seen ganes like pavlov? Its a shooter against other real people
I wanna see a vr gaming channel with you and Maddox
Try out "Onward"
Mike wanting to get a VR set for Maddox (himself) at the end was very wholesome
That was pretty cool. Reminds me of my time playing with my dad.

100% lovely way to end it
That made it worth it for me to watch the video
I do hope we get an update in a few months on if they have it and how they’re doing

Yes! Especially with how incredibly difficult it's meant to be and there's mods that make it insanely more so
There are a couple of tactical shooters in VR too actually! Onward and Pavloc are two good examples :)
@tinkywinky4449 still a lot more realistic then bonelab or superhot
Maddox is a really good camera op. You can see the quality drop as soon as Seth starts filming him play at the end.
Really interesting that Mike went all-in on Superhot, even for training his family.
Super hot is a puzzle game with guns.
@@Giganfan2k1 i like that summary

There is definitely slowing down of time in bonelab btw. It has three degrees of slow motion that you can manually activate at any time.

You can drop a magazine in Bonlabs. You can also release the slide. And if you choose to, there’s slow-mo.

You know its gonna be a good day on TH-cam when the last words of the first video you watch for the day are “I don’t have any friends”
BoneLab has a magazine release button. Y or B depending on what hand is holding a gun.
Wow Seth! Very cool, it's my first time seeing this channel but it's good

The lapse in judgement that is you not having him play H3VR is absurd
The fact that Mike was instantly worried as to what was in the bag is kinda concerning

there is a game called space pirat trainer, where you can play together on two headsets but in one room
