Alduin the Anti-Dragonborn i can imagine, but.. at least the show got an ending, like , most shows get cancelled these days, this one had a beginning and an end. so it makes up for the awkward ending for me. but i get you ;)
Saul Tigh Well you are right in that aspect. It is just season 4 was weird compared to the rest of the seasons. But thanks for understanding it from my point of view. However you are right that most shows do get canceled before they finish. And the makers of BSG were running low on their budget. They had to end it there, drive the show to its end. Before it meets the unfortunate fate of running into the sun like the fleet did, and being forever forgotten.
I was watching a Star Trek TNG episode called "Best of Both Worlds". When a scene came up where this modern space battleship captain happens to visit with a bar keeper and they candidly speak about the end of the Roman Empire and the end of civilization as they know it, I compared this as a 7th grader to BSG's companion book for the original series pilot. Seemed fitting at the time (not knowing of course a producer of that episode would end up being part of a successful reboot).
I thought that I recognized that chant! I was at the opening ceremony for the new Vihara in Ottawa, Canada, and the Buddhist monks sang this chant! Fantastic!
How much I loved this series..... this sound is making me so nostalgic that I've tears in my eyes. "The" Greatest series ever made..(going back in my hard drive library to find the BSG complete season)

I didn't watch the newer BSG, I was a bit skeptical about it, mainly because I was such a huge fan of the original. I finally got to watch the whole series on Netflix and just fell in love with the series. Oh. My. Gods. I regret not watching it when it first aired (although I do remember seeing one episode, half of it anyway, when Tyrol, Saul, Anders, and Torri some to realize they are Cylons). From the original, Galactica 1980, I remember them introducing the Cylon-human types. If I recall, I was thinking that it was a sort of continuation from Galactica 1980. I love this show. Its been 10 years since the show first aired, only five since it ended. I hope they don't make that movie, it would ruin it. You cannot tell a story like this in only 90 minutes.
I almost did the same thing. I just decided to give it a try, and was hooked! I liked the way they didn't go completely high tech, like the old comm phones for example. Made it feel sort of old and tired, but thrust back into action.
Mr. Glen Larson said he had liked this version of BSG ; some of the storylines , characters , & effects were better than what he had & could do in the original.

I think his story is the saddest of them all, and that's saying something.) The Rebel Six is angered and accusing Helo and Athena( the truly guilty casualties of their war, they both betrayed their sides for eachother, their daughter the proof, neither side could ever look at the world in black and white ever again and the rebel six died for that world, were it not for them and their love this war would have no victors nor anyone left) And finally(I know, i'm sorry) Kara and Anders, they seem alone, as if all their attention us on one another and no one else exists( it's not because of regret from unfaithful choices or last minute decisions, they are on time that only god could give Kara and Anders at the end became a Hybrid, more than what he was but less than human. What time they had was precious.)

Other free translations: "We meditate on the glory of that Being who has produced this universe; may He enlighten our minds." "We meditate on the effulgent glory of the divine Light; may he inspire our understanding."
This chant is nothing but ancient vedic mantra called Gayatri Mantra. It's prayer of Sun , the Supreme Entity. It's most powerful mantra of Hindu Culture.
This Hymn from the oldest literature Rigveda fits well here. Because this hymn is very scientific. Also the composer of this oldest book is unknown. Composed around 35000-5000 BC in Sanskrit language.
BSG proves we are the same people. Distinct cultures and tongues. Same logic, same blood, same divinity that sparked our lives, whatever the source we are here on Earth as one.

The Gayatri mantra is a beautiful chant and has depth of meaning, and I'm glad they used it as the opening music for BSG, but as an Indian, I was wincing at the Sanskrit pronunciation all through. Couldn't they have made a better effort at trying to get it right, at least? :(

I don't think she was whining lol, she was providing some valid points of criticism. She wasn't saying it was bad, just that there was room for improvement.

Damian Wayne™ imagine this as the intro music to a mandalorian TV show but in mando language. That's the type of show we need. It should take place during the original trilogy era and show us what the mandalorians are up to during that time while being oppressed by the empire. They should come back as a warrior race they once were and contribute to the rebellion even though they ironically use to terrorize the galaxy. That would be a kick ass TV show. Maybe have it take place after RotJ and they could connect it to Boba's survival and have him get the drive to go back to his people and lead them to fight the remnants of the empire. And of course give it an adult theme with swearing, sex, blood, people getting blown up, game of thrones style, they are mandalorians after all. Just fan fiction thoughts, lol. I also typed this at 2 in the morning.
It sounds pretty deep! I can probably appreciate it more when it's not being played on my phone. My goodness, seeing the Mandalorians go up against the Empire would be incredible. Although I'd like this show to have very little to do with the Fetts. I've never looked at Jango as a true Mandalorian, and I know damn well that's been strongly hinted on throughout the years that he isn't. I can't imagine them accepting his son Boba (who's simply a knock-off clone) as a helping hand. But then again if they can assist both Maul and Kenobi then anything is possible. A show like this with blood, sex, and alcohol, bring it on.
Empire will regret it if they keep this warrior race under the bootheel Just like the wookies ( I'm still annoyed that the original idea to have return of the Jedi involve wookies in place of ewoks was cut )
I hope if the boba fett movie ever happens that they do bring in a Once Were Warriors feel, the idea of the fetts coming out of a proud warrior race, even if the fetts are into crime and bounty hunting
love this. I'm a Hindu and recite this prayer quite often but I wasn't able to identify it at first coz the pronunciation of the words are all very weird

This is the best show to ever exist.
I like to think that, Galactica arrive to earth, BSG Ending, blabla, 280 000 years pass, 2064 Zefram Cochrane invent warp drive, welcome to star trek!
AND MEANWHILE A LONG TIME AGO IN A GALAXY FAR FAR AWAY....
MrBrandybuck1120 yeah, well... for all we know, the Kobolians (?) could be runaway Republicans...
ya BSG ends 280,000 years pass, 2064 we have the beginning of Star Trek, 11,953 yrs later Sonic The Hedgehog's world (Mobius) Begins
There are quite a lot of terms in Star Trek and BSG that are quite common. So that may be possible haha
So does this mean Data marks the start of the cylons appearing again? lol
Television died when this show ended...best of all time!
So say we all.
Frak you, now you make me cry on my own hanger deck. lol You're right my BsG friend. TV never got the same after this GEM ! SSWA
The only thing I didn't like was the ending.
Alduin the Anti-Dragonborn
i can imagine, but.. at least the show got an ending, like , most shows get cancelled these days, this one had a beginning and an end. so it makes up for the awkward ending for me. but i get you ;)
Saul Tigh Well you are right in that aspect.

A Gayatri Mantra for wallpaper made to resemble Michelangelo's "The Last Supper". The irony.
BSG is best rebbot tv ever
The first time a played this video, it gave me chills. You truly do get a powerful feeling listening to this Mantra!!!
I play this for my week-old son and it puts him right to sleep
I thought that I recognized that chant! I was at the opening ceremony for the new Vihara in Ottawa, Canada, and the Buddhist monks sang this chant! Fantastic!
nah its gayatri mantra
That's weird cuz this is an ancient sanskrit mantra.
@@Daniel-vd2ej yeah, u r correct, And Buddha himself used to chant this mantra, That's why Buddhist monk chanted it.

this sound is making me so nostalgic that I've tears in my eyes.
"The" Greatest series ever made..(going back in my hard drive library to find the BSG complete season)
PiyushKrack Too bad it is 100 % copied not original (sound track)
Neetish kumar Maurya I know it is gayatri mantra, but that's just lyrics the music the percussion is not. And as a whole it brings goosebumps on me.
Neetish kumar Maurya it is not copied.. The makers of BSG never said it is their original soundtrack and the only reason they used it because they respect this scripture and acknowledge it. So please stop spreading your Indian-Hindu propaganda, and grow up.
+Neetish kumar Maurya The orignal vocals are just flat. This just goose bumps with instruments
Much thanks in uploading. The Gayatri mantra is a very powerful mantra and made more powerful with a good compostion behind it.
Om Bhur Bhuvaḥ Suvaha
Tat-savitur Vareñyaṃ
Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi
Dhiyo Yonaḥ Prachodayāt
General meaning: We meditate on that most adored Supreme Lord, the creator, whose effulgence (divine light) illumines all realms (physical, mental and spiritual). May this divine light illumine our intellect.
Word meaning: Om: The primeval sound; Bhur: the physical body/physical realm; Bhuvah: the life force/the mental realm Suvah: the soul/spiritual realm; Tat: That (God); Savitur: the Sun, Creator (source of all life); Vareñyam: adore; Bhargo: effulgence (divine light); Devasya: supreme Lord; Dheemahi: meditate; Dhiyo: the intellect; Yo: May this light; Nah: our; Prachodayāt: illumine/inspire
Spoiler much?
Mr. Glen Larson said he had liked this version of BSG ; some of the storylines , characters , & effects were better than what he had & could do in the original.

@@leeworley6727 Yes and well,no. Everyone here has a very distinct purpose and theme; Baltar next to the Messenger Six fits as she is the divine(or carrying out the wishes of god) and he her prophet( he never stopped being a mess of a human being until he and Caprica Six saved Hera, and at the very end when he cried about ending up as a farmer and thought about his dad, I think) Roslin and Adama just gaze longingly at eachother( Adama as a judas works between those two as he was the deciding vote of Baltar's fate during his trial, Roslin felt betrayed.Vice versa works as well considering she is bearing a flame to her scriptures and Adama considers that a greater betrayal to herself given how her assumed role as prophet became so engrained to her identity) Saul stares at an empty chalice( we only see his eyepatch, he turned a blind eye to those like him and himself for what he did to Ellen, his wife. that chalice was meant for her) Lee is alone and deep in thought( he no longer wears a flight suit but a politicians garb, he has left behind his warrior nature and is now dedicated to leading what is left of human civilization to a better life) Tyrol staring at a knife( he is on edge and must come to terms with what he is and accept the changes that come with it.

A literal translation of the Gayatri verse proper can be given as:
"May we attain that excellent glory of Savitar the god:
So may he stimulate our prayers."
Other free translations:
"We meditate on the glory of that Being who has produced this universe; may He enlighten our minds."
"We meditate on the effulgent glory of the divine Light; may he inspire our understanding."
This chant is nothing but ancient vedic mantra called Gayatri Mantra. It's prayer of Sun , the Supreme Entity. It's most powerful mantra of Hindu Culture.

I can listen it eternally!
It is in fact the famous Gayatri Mantra from Rg Veda and refers to the Eternal Light.
I love every syllable and every note of the intro
This Hymn from the oldest literature Rigveda fits well here. Because this hymn is very scientific. Also the composer of this oldest book is unknown. Composed around 35000-5000 BC in Sanskrit language.
Did you really mean 35000 BC or 3500 BC?
Lol, he meant 3500; it was just a mistyped extra 0. Hinduism was only formed after, with earliest proven evidence, 5500 BC.
@@justabeard3794 it even older than that

This is actually the famous Gayatri Mantra from the ancient Rg Veda referring to the Divine Light. The central theme of Rg Veda [the world's oldest spiritual texts] is in fact the Divine Light [the Arya (noble) is one who unceasingly pursues the Light) - which was later to become the Atman, Cit (Pure Consciousness), Buddha Nature, Sophia (Cosmic Light of Wisdom - in Plato and Gnosticism), Holy Spirit, al haqq (The Reality in Sufism - mystical Islam).
You may also like the Sanskrit Mantra which was used on Dominic West's documentary about his trip to the Kumbh Mela with his old Etonian friend Lord Mallinson - "West Meets East" on 029Sakura Channel on TH-cam which starts playing when Dominic enters the Ganges at 36 min 28 seconds.
The mantra is called Karpur Gauram Karunavtaram

The Gayatri mantra is a beautiful chant and has depth of meaning, and I'm glad they used it as the opening music for BSG, but as an Indian, I was wincing at the Sanskrit pronunciation all through. Couldn't they have made a better effort at trying to get it right, at least? :(
Indeed!
Rashmi Basu Everyone has an accent. The same way the way you think your English might sound perfect, but to a British or American it might sound weird and may ask you of the same thing. Getting my point? So please stop wincing on petty things as someone's accent and appreciate the music
Abhishake Mitra Let people have opinions.
I don't think she was whining lol, she was providing some valid points of criticism. She wasn't saying it was bad, just that there was room for improvement.
Rashmi Basu
As a person who loves different culture, I think that's an awesome valid point, although those who are not familiar with the content still felt the weight of its sound intent
yeah it stirs the soul and it is very appropriate for galactica....the ironic thing is that the machines are monotheistic and the humans are polytheistic...fascinating!! i love this show on many levels!! i hope sci-fi does something with the battlestar galactica blood and chrome series!!!

Empire will regret it if they keep this warrior race under the bootheel
Just like the wookies ( I'm still annoyed that the original idea to have return of the Jedi involve wookies in place of ewoks was cut )
I hope if the boba fett movie ever happens that they do bring in a Once Were Warriors feel, the idea of the fetts coming out of a proud warrior race, even if the fetts are into crime and bounty hunting
A little late to it, but go look up Dha Werda Verda for Mando music
Thumbs up!, Just going through the 10 year anniversary replay now ;

Religion was always at the heart of bsg, old and new. The near extinction by their creation, the search for their mythical cousins, the evolution of each soul along the way. Overtone? Without it, there IS no journey. You are making the same journey, you simply use different labels.
Created directly from Mormonism. Lots of stuff connects from the faith to this show. There is literally an episode taken strictly out of the Book of Mormon.
Bro hindu is not a religion it is a way of life because it is sanatan dharm means eternal way of living in life. It is a hindu devotional music.
