    What you mentioned Jaby (singing without words) is a very very integral part of Hindustani (Indian) music. It is called "Alaap". Particularly the Indian/Pakistani singers are the best at it in the world probably because they have been trained in it as a core part of their vocal training. In fact, it is before lyrics that the singers learn to ace the alaaps.

    • @siddharthnetam2310
      @siddharthnetam2310 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for that information ...i was aware that indian and Pakistani singers are trained for that ..but didn't knew that it is called 'Alaap'

      we have three classical forms 1. Dhrupad 2. Carnatic 3 Hindustani.
      All three are vardaan of Samveda.

    • @Naveen75574
      @Naveen75574 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is Carnatic btw.. it is the south Indian classical music where as Hindustani is mostly North Indian.

    • @tejasvi18joshi

      Prior to 12 century classical music of entire Bharat was one, performed with same instruments and ragas. Saraswati veena was common. And our music performances and classical dances were done in temples. Then Islamic invasion happened and in the north first they started destroying temples and banned music, so to save music many musicians and singers had to convert to Islam and now it was being performed in royal courts, for that they had to invent new instruments and modified ragas. That's how sitar, tabla came into existence. Carnatic classical is very tough in comparison to Hindustani classical. The same thing happened to classical dancers that's how kathak was invented by amalgamated all the classical dances of North Indian temples. And same thing happened with viskarma community who were expert in building temples. Most of Our temples in North India were destroyed . This community was forcefully converted to Islam and all the so called Islamic structures you see today were built by this community. In south this community was exited till recently but now dying in sikular India. We have 5 different shilpa shastra ancient books for temple building. Our civilization was always been maritime. Chola empire was the greatest empire in the world who had navy. Due to Islamic invasions, this navy expertise was also lost. Shivaji maharaj had to reinvent and rebuild navy. He also reconverted many people from that community to Hinduism. We also had world class shipbuilding community, Islamic invasion also disbursed this community.

    The Carnatic violin has evolved into a kind of counterpoint for the vocalist in its ability to mimic the human voice and you can see that here. It's beautiful.

I have noticed that on other topics as well. Yet she is humble and never brags or try to talk over you or hog the mic / spot light. You are one lucky guy.

    Sound has been used in many ways in ancient India specially in spiritual process. Just by uttering perticular sounds (sometimes without meaning) you can progress on your spiritual path. And the lady was uttering the first letter from the word AUM. AUM is composed of three distinct sounds AAA, UUUU and MMM. These are the only three sounds humans can utter without using toung.

    The vocals you hear is called ‘Raag Alaap’, which is a feature of both North Indian (Hindustani) and South Indian (Karnatic) classical music.
    The concept of Raag or Raaga is absent or has no parallel in western classical music. Raga is an array of melodic structures filled with musical motifs. A raga is considered in the Indian classically music tradition to have the ability to ‘color the mind’ and affect the emotions of the audience.
    Raga is what makes the sound of Indian classical music so unique. A lot of Bollywood music is based on traditional Raagas.

    Hi jaby... The vocal infact as you have already said.... Is of much confidence.... But not only cz of that.. there is different RAGA's in classical indian music, defining different moods of human mind, and the relation of the same towards the nature.... happiness is defined by a particular RAGA, and sadness, loneliness, love, the Early morning, evening.. sleep... Rain... and so on...are defined by different particular RAGA of it's own.... And all these are defined in the 7 positions of sound (you very well know it already, and sorry for saying, am just expressing it... i know am not anyone to educate you... ☺) " sa ri ga ma pa dha ni sa".... when combining in different orders and ways..... It gives different ragas... And the mood it is supposed to be creating in the listeners mind.... !!
    Hat's off to you both..... Am a great fan of you both.... Especially when you are with Achara!!,... she is as awesome as you, and that sensibleness in her reactions...!!!! Love you both....!! Respect from India... (Kerala in precise 😛😛)
