I say "Yes" to anything/everything even when I am not in the mood to do so or I don't want at all. Many of the times, I started to regret right the second after I say yes/agree to something. At some point, I did reflect why I want to be people pleaser? and the answer to my question is 1) Peer pressure 2) to fulfilled the happiness of others 3) feeling bad/discomfort to say "NO". There is always a thought in my mind "good people make sacrifices for happiness of others" ... I know that this is not right, and I am still learning how to get rid of this thought.
That's easy. Especially in Asia, kids are not just love because they are, but only if they please their parents by behave, getting good grades, and what else. They learn, they are only loveable when they first give something but not as they are
Thank you for sharing! I'm 22 years old and I can deeply relate to ShiQi's situation from five years ago. I considered myself an overachiever, and I now feel like I'm falling short and feel anxious about it. However, I understand that I need time to figure out my life.. hope to soon discover my true aspirations and direction for the future like you girls. :) x
Here for Shi Qi because I love her accent the way she's speak
