The Graceland folks blew a chance for free publicity. They could have notified the entire Memphis news media and garnered yet another minute in the spotlight with newspaper, radio and TV news blips.
The way to keep Elvis' memory alive is to keep it in the public's consciousness, not to scare away and prohibit the presence of every other piece of long forgotten hardware he once owned.
Elvis would be frowning down on the security. He would have loved to see these all together. Jimmy should have rang the press there and then. They would have run down to see it.
I think you might not know the Lisa Marie isn't property of Graceland. It's not owned by Graceland & the current owner of the Lisa Marie has a vested interest to protect it's property & investment. Trying to get free publicity off a privately owned asset might incur some legal issues since they didn't have permission to be there / film / publish all over the internet.
That would be like showing up at a party uninvited, and bringing a stage with you and a band to showcase on the stage, and asking advertisers to pay you for doing so, and asking the venue to simply modify their security detail because someone on a monetized youtube channel apparently wants some money to pay for the fuel costs for a transport truck and a insurance write off junkyard airplane purchase expenses and a flight ticket.
Anyways, please be safe, if that older truck jackknives on the highway to florida or while making unexpected turns in traffic congested areas with a failing old cloth strapping system and crushes a family in a station wagon to death, they wont really experience any afterlives whatsoever, no matter what putin or other monetized smiling people say.

I seriously doubt they need that kind of publicity stunt. Jimmy needs it. Call in advance. Plan it. If they say no... Respect it. They don.t know the guy. For all they know, he could be just another TH-camr that tried to scam people out of money by asking donations for a project that could have never worked dispute having enough money to purchase the pile of aluminum money could buy.... Or something like that
The guards were being cool, to their credit. Can't fault them for doing what they were told. They handled the situation in a friendly manner and that deserves a nod.
The folks were using fake protocol to not be helpful. I won't be visiting them anytime soon. Just a bad taste in my mouth.

Would have been great if all 3 Elvis jets could live out the rest of their lives together but I don’t think Graceland wanted this one or they would have brought it in the first place.
Why would they want it there? I mean no disrespect, but that was Elvis’s home, they don’t need to make it look like a amusement park with all this stuff. It would look terrible.

Because it’s so barely Elvis’ jet that they don’t want anything to do with it. Priscilla was just at the auction as a paid actor to help pretend it was something important to Elvis’ legacy. The whole thing is shady.
Elvis owned that jet briefly, but it was never his jet.. He never flew on it and probably never even stepped foot inside of it.. The person who owned it after Elvis completely redone the interior.. So there's nothing inside that jet that Elvis even laid eyes on.. Poor Jimmy got scammed and now he's scamming all of his viewers trying to make his money back..

Not so sure he didn't have a case against the auction house. They should have had to disclose that it was illegal for this plane to ever fly again. Although looking at it you would have known that straight away.
I hope everything works out for Jimmy but it was easy to see how the auction company set him up. There was blatant bi-bidding going on to rope some poor innocent person into paying way more than the plane would have sold for. The instant that the auction company called Jimmy because of a so-called mistake should have been clue enough to see the corruption of the auctioneer and his staff.
I agree, whoever ran up the bid, should be arrested. Also, did that same SOB keep jacking it up? All of his Bids should have been null and void. Therefore, start over.
@@dereksellars That is standard practice when an item selling at auction has a reserve price. They will always run the item to that price. Remember the auction house is paid at the percentage of the selling price. So that lot will always reach the reserve. Wheather, it sells or not. I deal with auctions in my business all the time.
“spur of the moment”?? Ummmm…. No. Memphis is way out the way from Roswell to Plant City. Security guard was right. A phone call should have been made to set something up and not just drop in unannounced.

that's a good idea, with remote access you could allow people to actually fly the jet (via sim obviously)
I said something similar in one of the first videos about making either a flight simulator or air b and b when it turned out there was no real way to get it flying without spending millions, but having Elvis on board to fly around, that's a stroke of genius, people love that stuff, kind of like the Elvis Chapel in Vegas, only cooler.

I’ve been in behind Graceland Mansion in my Peterbilt, I drove up beside the corporate office thru a narrow gate, to deliver masonary equipment to behind a theater.
Totally worth the 12 minutes of footage. Loved seeing all three of those birds together!

There was just an article yesterday, that there were Presley family squabbles and that one of Lisa Marie's children (Riley Keough) had the locks changed on Graceland to keep Priscilla out of the estate. Lisa Marie's two children inherited the entire estate and don't want to share with Grand Ma.

Good point. And had he done so he wouldn't be left with an acft that has engines which are no longer (lawfully) useable. Of course it could've been re-engined, although it would've likely been cost prohibitive. And that's not taking into account the many other issues it had. For example, recall the cost estimate he was given to repair it, which didn't include new engines, thus making it financially unfeasible. Therefore, as you said, he could've found something with a current airworthiness certificate for less. Then again, we don't know how much he considered it to be worth considering it had belonged to Elvis Presley (who btw was long before my time).
Some people are so stupid, this was a perfect marketing opportunity. Don't ever have to worry about me visiting Graceland.

Jimmy it's unfortunate that the last private jet that was owned by Elvis Presley was not wanted on Graceland property. Security was very professional and only following what was relayed to them. It would of been amazing to see all of these jets together in one place but obviously it was not something that Elvis Presley Enterprises wanted to deal with. It's just unbelievable that they didn't want that jet on Graceland property. But I know that you will make it into a spectacular Elvis Presley memorabilia attraction. Thank you for sharing this.

What’s ironic is that this third jet is the one that was the nicest the most modern and the most expensive one Elvis bought. It also had the nicest interior in my opinion… had they painted and made it look beautiful, it would have been amazing to have his entire fleet in one place. Their bad. I would never go visit that stuck up museum. I’d rather see Jimmy’s plane.

😱🛐😭Kruse GWS, another auction house, tried to sell Elvis Presley ‘s private jet last summer and it failed, despite a starting bid of just $100,000.
Been there... The parking and visitor center and jets are not owned by the Presley estate.. It's a tourist center. (I'm being polite) .. Across the street is Graceland. (The Presley home, Elvis's grave site, a building housing Elvis's memorabilia and another separate building that was a recording studio. No Presley's live there any longer but some areas of the residence are not allowed to be toured. (Understandable)) Almost the entire property is tourist. Tickets are sold at the visitor center and a shuttle ride is available if needed. I enjoyed the tours but the jets were closed the day I was there. It is interesting to see as Graceland and the studio are maintained period correct. It's a "way back machine" for sure.
I hear a developer is making a replica of this jet for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 on PC and Xbox! It will be the same model jet and even the same colour as there is no copyright for that paint scheme on the actual one. Even the interior can be identical for the cabin etc. It was nicknamed "Houndog II" so naming rights might be an issue. 202 of these were made and the Mexican Air Force still have flying examples as well as private individuals, so obtaining permission to take sound recordings of the various engine sounds and components when working shouldn't be too difficult. The engines were Garrett TFE731-3 turbofans & there are still examples out there.
No more Jetstars flying now.

For years I have known that part of the King's legacy was hanging out with the aliens in Roswell NM, my home state. As a huge Elvis fan I'm sad to see it go and know Jimmy will try to make a buck off of it like so many others did with Elvis. So in that vein, once the RV conversion is complete along with a fresh paint job, take it to Las Vegas and park it at an Elvis impersonators marriage chappel and sell tickets for a tour. Include "I 💘 Elvis" coffee mugs and glue on sideburns. Good luck!

From what I understand it was purchased with his money but he never saw it other than photos nor did he fly on it.
These are all assumption no one really knows although the man was famous im sure he made time to do family things as go see the jet he bought for his dad an more than likely he flew on it with his dad as well.. I wonder if the interior could be retrofitted into a newer Jet. Although I'm also wondering if you will be able to get the smell out of the interior parts. If it is The smell you are describing, prolonged exposure to mass quantities of bird poop can give you emphysema. That warning came to me when I was working in chicken houses in Mississippi. I don't believe they own the jets and never did, The property the jets sit on is not owned my Presley's estate.

Just checked a trip to Graceland off my bucket list. It's not like the place was crowded and you were tying up the place . Not the security guards fault. They were just following orders. From what I know about Elvis, that never would have gone down that way if he had been there. He probably would have invited all of you in and join him for his favorite peanut butter and banana sandwich. ☺
