Yes, they seem identical. I read about that case in the earlier 70's, when I had a subscription to the Saga UFO Report Magazine. I still have all of my issues. A few years ago I met some gal that personally knew Lonnie Zamora, the New Mexico State Patrolman that had the sighting.
Yes! One of the the most compelling ufo cases on record. They definitely took a lot of creative license, as the retelling, while entertaining in its vintage vibe, was not very accurate in many of its details! But a lot of fun!
Unsolved Mysteries did a fascinating segment on police office Lonnie Zamora sighting in Socorro, N.M. The ship in that segment looked nothing like the one used for Project UFO.

A very professional series, treating the Air Force, Project Blue Book and the witnesses with respect... Jack Webb and Mark VII saw to that ! With all the increased interest in the subject these days, they should bring back this seriously presented series back for broadcast... without all the silly commercials, of course...
I’m in the U.K. and watched Project UFO here back in the late 70’s - luckily I have all the episodes on DVD which I bought years ago. They were recorded from TV1 in Australia. The quality of this episode is slightly sharper. I was addicted to this show.
I miss regional tv like this with the commercials sometimes geared toward the communities we lived in. It just felt more personal tv back then and everything was an event the specials, holidays, etc.
Watched this as a youngster and loved it (even though it scared me at the time) I’m sure this program had a lot to do with my fascination with UFOs and aliens that stayed with me to this day.
I was 12 when this aired. What memories. Around this time, my dad would occasionally pack my mom and the three us kids in the car at night and go driving around the countryside looking for UFOs. What memories. Oh, and Gatlin and Fitz make a very cute couple. Um, I mean partners. Very cute partners.
For a low budget show back then it holds up remarkably well today. Model work was excellent, I'm guessing the SFX people were just told 'go nuts' and they did.

Yeah, you can't go around smelling a woman's hair in this day and age, especially in an elevator. That's asking to have your glasses forcefully inserted into your temple followed by a double fake kick to the groin. What might be a really innocent and believe it or not honest comment has turned into a unwelcome, sexist, misogynistic threat. So sad the times we live in. Wasn't there an ad back then that said something like: " Gee, your hair smells terrific!"? Not anymore it doesn't! Thank you, hateful feminazis!
True story: When I was a little kid, I tried to eat a Gainesburger once because they made them sound so good on the commercials. (Spoiler -- They actually taste quite bad.)
I remember this show coming out soon after Close Encounters of the Third Kind was released. Even back then, I thought the effects were hokey. But I watched it anyway. That story with the cop was based on the Lonnie Zamora case from 1964. It's one of the famous UFO cases. And I noticed they used the Forbidden Planet space ship model in the investigator's flashback story. 😄 This was great to see again! Even the commercials were great to see! Thanks!
Ironically, this episode was based on the Lonnie Zamora case, where Lon was a NM State Highway Patrolman who saw a craft similar as to featured here. It was the sighting that changed J Allen Hynek's mind, as it could not be debunked. To this day, it's still a true unknown.
Loved this show when I was a kid! Watched it when I was about 7 or 8 years old. This episode is based on the Socorro incident when a policeman called Lonnie Zamora observed a landed object with apparent crew/occupants. The object was roughly egg shaped and had an insignia of sorts on it - something not often if ever reported. Maj Gatlin’s observation from a B25 mirrors that if Maj Quintella who ran the Blue Book unit in the mid sixties. His encounter took place in Alabama and when he took over Blue Book and attempted to access his report was told it was classified and that he didn’t have the necessary clearance.
That wonderful plane was a B-25. At this time it must have already been 35 years old. I have been able to fly in a few of them. I was once flying over Dallas, TX in a B-25 when the starboard engine blew out. What an adventure! We safely returned on one engine. No aliens were involved.
I vividly remember that intro narrated by Jack Webb: "Ezekiel saw the wheel; this is the wheel he said he saw . . ." It was obvious that the recent success of CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND gave some network bigwig the idea to greenlight a show about UFOs, and thus we got this -- which I remembered airing as PROJECT BLUEBOOK. Interestingly, there was a thin paperback book titled "THE SPACESHIPS OF EZEKIEL" that had come out around that time, written by a former NASA design engineer. Erich von Daniken was hugely popular at the time, too. This show didn't last more than a year, as I recall; I wonder what other TV shows it was up against in the ratings?
I remember this show ( I was about 13 years old ) but I thought it was called Project Blue Book. Seems like it was not on but one or two seasons. I remember the part about the grits and putting boiled egg in them , thats the way my dad liked them too.
@@nancynancydrew8503 The series was NEVER called "Blue Book." Why people are too clueless to look at the titles and the TV listings which show this was series was only called "Project UFO" I have no idea.

I remember the title as Project Blue Book as well, and I was already an adult. In fact, I've been checking You Tube for quite a while trying to find it, but couldn't. I just happened to stumble over this one and it is the original. I knew it was a Jack Webb production.
All comments here are on point. And yes, this was called Project Blue Book. As a kid I lived in the library and checked out many books on UFO cases. I was a USAF Airman for two tours and was pushed deeper into the cosmic conspiracy by people I met who were involved with what is going on. I could not sleep for weeks. With all that is going on now, I suggest we all look back and view at all the old shows and documentaries about this subject, for today it’s all coming true. Thanks for the posting of this tv show. The end episode was heavy. Case closed….now all are reopening.
When I first saw this show I thought it was just a show and then I didn't realize that these stories were true till I started reading about them in different books
Man, Joe Dragnet. The facts, mam. Only the facts. Ezekiel saw the wheel, your damn right he saw a disc in the sky. A wheel within a wheel. I can't wait to find the portal to heaven.
Way before the likes of "THE X-FILES", NBC's 1978-1979 "PROJECT UFO" TV series would be Jack Webb's final Primetime series, loosely based on The USAF's "Project Bluebook" files, Webb and his creative staff did a great job depicting Bluebook's main recorded reports of UFO sightings. the miniatures created for the series were impressive, given that the entertainment industry in 78' was still reeling from the impact of "STAR WARS", this NBC series was, if anything, highly unique! but, what was more interesting, was that in addition to Jack Webb's Mark VII, Ltd. production arm, syndication company, Worldvision Enterprises (now currently a CBS Media Ventures company of Paramount Global-formerly Viacom, who acquired Worldvision in 2000, which was part of Spelling Entertainment) also had a hand with this NBC series, and that was rare, especially since the syndication company, formerly known as ABC Films, until 1973, was a division of The Taft Broadcasting Company, before Spelling Entertainment acquired them in the late 80s/early 90s. There were 27 episodes of "PROJECT UFO" produced, and the series has yet to see a DVD release. the show was created by Harold Jack Bloom, the script writer of United Artists' "YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE" (1967), the last 007 with Sean Connery before 1969's "ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE". Harold Jack Bloom also co-wrote "Rendezvous With Yesterday" with Irwin Allen and Shimon Wincelberg, the pilot episode and opener of ABC's "THE TIME TUNNEL" (1966-67). Harold Jack Bloom also created "HEC RAMSEY" (1972-1974) for Mark VII, Ltd, and Universal Television for NBC.
One interesting fact about "PROJECT UFO", were the use of some familiar sound effects, such as the ones used in a variety of other TV series, like "STAR TREK", "LOST IN SPACE", and "THE TIME TUNNEL"-these sound effects were used heavily in this NBC series from 1978!
New sub! Thank you for your uploads 🌹 At 31:52, they claim that it looks like a Cadillac Seville, and it does. I wonder if there were any legal issues with that...😕 I had a 76 Seville. In the 2000s. 😏
I love this show.. and have rewatched it many times for the nostalgia and the fact that people continue to forget yet repeat the past. Insanity. (first let me don my tinfoil hat) FIRST PROJECT - PROJECT SiGN SECOND - PROJECT GRUDGE (somewhere in here Majestic Twelve was formed either before or during. Not conclusive) THIRD-PROJECT BLUEBOOK( longest(?) running officially known project shutdown early 60s-inconclusive) FOURTH TILL RECENT(money thrown into BLACK projects/research unknowable to public from mid 60's to 2000's) ????? FIFTH- PROJECT AATIP (findings compelling but inconclusive...yet inspired the government to do...) SIXTH-UAPTF(current project too study UAP's in partnership with NASA) -PRESENT DAY THERE WAS NO PROJECT U.F.O. The military would not give the show runner permission for it to be called BLUEBOOK. At the time the project had officially ended(?) 15 years prior and therefore these investigations were not being conducted by anyone attached officially to a closed(?) project. So it was named UFO to make sure viewers understood what the show was about. So many semi-famous tv and movie actors, including a well known actress/singer(you have to figure it out, she got second billing lol) Best quote from the show is 21:17 . Amazing how someone of a "marginalized" group could have such a prominent role on a National TV show back in 1978!! Yet nobody mentions this today, as if forgotten...hmmm. It's not the Mandela Effect. it is ignorance of progression. On a separate note- 2 guys in full uniform with a very attractive woman(and her "kitty" 🧐) in one hotel room..in RENO??? Not much "official" work is going to be done..if you get my drift... You Dig??? MEEEEEOW I so miss having as a kid a full bottle of artificial maple flavored corn syrup.. Oh how I miss Golden Griddle.. maybe there is a bottle of that toxic goo on Ebay. Off to check ;)
First time seeing this, never heard of the series before. From 56:00-56:14 the promo of another episode, seems to be a re-enactment of the 1957 Hopkinsville, Kentucky UFO encounter where creatures were fired upon by the residents, while they attempted entry into their house.
I used to watch this on tv, it was a tv drama, that was based on facts and eye witness reporting. Today 30 years late, the US navy admits UFOs have been visiting on the Earth.
@@a1c3c3u this comment is correct. The Government comment states there are UAP's they can't yet define . Does not say they are from other planets/dimensions/parallel universes' or periods of time. They claim they just don't know(though I think they have a solid idea 🤔😉) They are not saying it's alien....but(it's 👽)
The US has never admitted that UFOs (extraterrestrial craft) have been visiting Earth. They only stated that UFOs exist, however UFO means 'unidentified Flying Object', not alien spacecraft. The bulk of UFO evidence is still quite poor.
BTW ... Does anyone know the name of that stunning black actress from just after the twenty minute and thirty four seconds mark ? I have to think that she must have been in other shows as well.

Yeah I'm another person who until I saw this show again several years back, though it was called Project Bluebook. Maybe that's the Mandela Effect or maybe they aired it with that name at some point somewhere?
No, the series aired in the U.S. on NBC as "Project UFO" as seen in the opening credits of this episode and others posted online. Now, it is of course possible that it was retitled for sales to foreign markets, but I have seen no definitive documented proof that such was the case. In its country of origin, on air and in printed program listings, it was titled and aired as "Project UFO."
Yep; it's a Jack Webb production alright. I recognize Clark Howat, who's the police chief. He was a captain in "Dragnet". Then there's Lew Brown from the "Dragnet '67" series. BTW: I see Paul Donnelly's name in the credits. Is he related to Tim and Dennis Donnelly?
Odd that they changed the ethnicity of the cop (Zamora), who was in the real incident that this was based on. He was Hispanic and not black. Hispanic actors didn't get nearly enough respect or opportunities to be in TV or films back then. So, although great that the show wanted to highlight the prejudice against black people, unfortunately, a more subtle form of predujice against Latino actors was an unintentional result.

That wonderful plane was a B-25. At this time it must have already been 35 years old. I have been able to fly in a few of them. I was once flying over Dallas, TX in a B-25 when the starboard engine blew out. What an adventure! We safely returned on one engine. No aliens were involved.
Or so you were lead to believe.....😂😅
It's about Project Bluebook . Each show was based on a real sighting .
17:33 Avery Schreiber in one of his many, many Doritos commercials.
One of the characters on this show was from Six Mile SC. A very small town about 16 miles from my house.
hmm.. you live in Liberty, Easley, Pickens, Seneca, Anderson, or the wild card , Salem?
ooh ooh oooh!! I forgot the other wildcard Walhalla lol!!
super show, they are part of the life.
That was terrible! I loved it.
I remember this show ( I was about 13 years old ) but I thought it was called Project Blue Book. Seems like it was not on but one or two seasons.
I remember the part about the grits and putting boiled egg in them , thats the way my dad liked them too.
series is blue book
@@nancynancydrew8503 The series was NEVER called "Blue Book." Why people are too clueless to look at the titles and the TV listings which show this was series was only called "Project UFO" I have no idea.

I remember the title as Project Blue Book as well, and I was already an adult. In fact, I've been checking You Tube for quite a while trying to find it, but couldn't. I just happened to stumble over this one and it is the original. I knew it was a Jack Webb production.
The rest is fallen angels that people think are aliens
All comments here are on point. And yes, this was called Project Blue Book. As a kid I lived in the library and checked out many books on UFO cases. I was a USAF Airman for two tours and was pushed deeper into the cosmic conspiracy by people I met who were involved with what is going on. I could not sleep for weeks. With all that is going on now, I suggest we all look back and view at all the old shows and documentaries about this subject, for today it’s all coming true. Thanks for the posting of this tv show. The end episode was heavy. Case closed….now all are reopening.
I was real excited to see the new Oldsmobile,s .
In 2022 this show would be streamed on Netflix
And have useless actors in front of green screens making quirky comments.
I never seen this one. A great watch from the past!
When I first saw this show I thought it was just a show and then I didn't realize that these stories were true till I started reading about them in different books
They are based on true stories, but with a fair bit of Hollywood fictionalization.
@@LMichaelL65 That's because some of the characters in the show were actors and the special effects were made by the studio 🎙️
Man, Joe Dragnet. The facts, mam. Only the facts. Ezekiel saw the wheel, your damn right he saw a disc in the sky. A wheel within a wheel. I can't wait to find the portal to heaven.
LOVING the commercials
Executive Producer of these programs was Jack Webb...which speaks volumes about its quality.
@@MONGOOSE1ful Wow, great details- who needs Wikipedia!
Keeping those vintage commercials in was a terrific idea !
That monte carlo got 29 mpg!
Nothing says 70's like trumpets and tubas, huh? "br,..brr..,bah, bah, bah, bah, bburrr!!" Takes ya back, doesn't it?
those cool old car commercials... a new car for less than 5 grand... :) unbelievable today
You beat me to it!
This was x-files before x-files
The best....good old days...
Project U.F.O. Will Continue!!
New sub! Thank you for your uploads 🌹
At 31:52, they claim that it looks like a Cadillac Seville, and it does. I wonder if there were any legal issues with that...😕 I had a 76 Seville. In the 2000s. 😏
Love the commercials
Man , ... They certainly loved to amp up that over the top melodramatic music in the background !😅
A Monti Carlo for only $4988.00!
I love this show.. and have rewatched it many times for the nostalgia and the fact that people continue to forget yet repeat the past. Insanity.
(first let me don my tinfoil hat)
FIRST PROJECT - PROJECT SiGN
SECOND - PROJECT GRUDGE
(somewhere in here Majestic Twelve was formed either before or during. Not conclusive)
THIRD-PROJECT BLUEBOOK( longest(?) running officially known project shutdown early 60s-inconclusive)
FOURTH TILL RECENT(money thrown into BLACK projects/research unknowable to public from mid 60's to 2000's) ?????
FIFTH- PROJECT AATIP (findings compelling but inconclusive...yet inspired the government to do...)
SIXTH-UAPTF(current project too study UAP's in partnership with NASA) -PRESENT DAY
THERE WAS NO PROJECT U.F.O.
You Dig??? MEEEEEOW
I so miss having as a kid a full bottle of artificial maple flavored corn syrup.. Oh how I miss Golden Griddle.. maybe there is a bottle of that toxic goo on Ebay. Off to check ;)
I am just here for the unedited 'vintage' commercials.
The Golden Griddle TV commercial jingle reminds me of the kiddie folk song "Frog Went a Courting".
This screams Jack Webb...👍I was 11 when this aired.
First time seeing this, never heard of the series before. From 56:00-56:14 the promo of another episode, seems to be a re-enactment of the 1957 Hopkinsville, Kentucky UFO encounter where creatures were fired upon by the residents, while they attempted entry into their house.
20:33 - There's your 'alien', gathering intel and purring it in code to the mother ship.
I heard even Aliens Love Egg Custard....
The most alien thing is this is all the people smelling that woman's hair in the shampoo advert.
Coool super old, I’ve never seen this. Looks like the hunt for UFOs and UAPs has been going on a long time
The Star Trek phaser sound effects! 2:00
This episodes describes something Very similar to the actual Zomora sighting.
I love how the corvette is racing past those pyramids at the intro. That's why they chose that background because they know those are really pyramids
There's a lot of news in Olds, today!
I drive my Tinker AFB every day! (however there are NO mountain ranges in central Oklahoma, only NE & SE Oklahoma.
These are also good for spotting Mandela effects.
I used to watch this on tv, it was a tv drama, that was based on facts and eye witness reporting. Today 30 years late, the US navy admits UFOs have been visiting on the Earth.
umm...no they haven't.
Ad Men of the 1970's were such Hacks! Where are songs and word play!? 🥵
I will take the air conditioned monte carlo for $4995
Jack Webb is narrating, it's got to be true.
That's a lot of people going into Bob's house!
the aliens names were changed to protect the innocent
BTW ... Does anyone know the name of that stunning black actress from just after the twenty minute and thirty four seconds mark ? I have to think that she must have been in other shows as well.
Holy Art Bell and George Noory!

“Yes, there have been ET visitations. There have been crashed craft. There have been material and bodies recovered. There has been a certain amount of reverse engineering that has allowed some of these craft, or some components, to be duplicated. And there is some group of people that may or may not be associated with the government at this point that have this knowledge. They have been attempting to conceal this knowledge. People in high level government have very little, if any, valid information about this. It has been the subject of disinformation in order to deflect attention and create confusion so the truth doesn’t come out. ” ― Edgar D. (6) After the plane from Roswell arrived with the material, I asked the Base Commander, Col. Al Clark, to take possession of the material and to personally transport it in a B-26 to Maj. Gen. McMullen in Washington, D.C. I notified Maj. Gen. It has been said that after President Carter was finally briefed on the et reality, he was deeply upset. For several weeks..
MEANINGFUL congressional hearings might be a good place to start ala the Watergate hearings, including aerospace/defense contractors and others such as Bob Lazar, Andrew Basiago and Vice Admiral Thomas R. Wilson must be held to address a vital issue that transcends politics and we will never properly advance until it happens: The 75+yr ongoing-constitutionally illegal, EXTRATERRESTRIAL and associated TIME TRAVEL and SECRET SPACE PROGRAMS cover-ups. It would also be nice to know what the results of the many years/projects involving the back-engineering of recovered "vehicles" are. Who has been footing the bill for that? How can we truly believe anything our elected officials say?
The longer an "official" disclosure is delayed...the more disruptive it could be and the longer our slavery will stay entrenched. The general public is waiting to be given permission to believe...to know.
The dog and pony shows must cease.
I think that look like what a UFO might loot like industrial and lumpy. Great show years ahead of its time. Bravo😊😊
Yeah I'm another person who until I saw this show again several years back, though it was called Project Bluebook. Maybe that's the Mandela Effect or maybe they aired it with that name at some point somewhere?
The series is called Blue book
No, the series aired in the U.S. on NBC as "Project UFO" as seen in the opening credits of this episode and others posted online.
Now, it is of course possible that it was retitled for sales to foreign markets, but I have seen no definitive documented proof that such was the case.
In its country of origin, on air and in printed program listings, it was titled and aired as "Project UFO."
Treasure, Thank you..!!
I remember this from the 70s. Do you have the Hopknisville goblins episode?
It's amazing to look back and see how they were pushing there agenda way back then or in this episode I should say agendas
This show had the model work and animation
🎼Look at what's happened to me
I can't believe it myself
Suddenly I'm up on top of the world
It should have been somebody else🎶
We are definetley NOT alone.
What type of tape was this sourced from? It looks great. Btw, Nelson Riddle does awesome stuff.
Thanks - it’s Umatic 3/4”.
