READ ME FIRST: This is the live BeetleJuice stage show performed in August, 1992 at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. It was tough to hold the damn camera for 20 minutes!
Without doubt, a great show with some great young talent.
Please visit Ken's TH-cam page. He is THE man who played the part of BeetleJuice in this video!

Ernie (Dracula)
Thank you for putting this up!
I've been looking for a great copy of me as Betelgeuse.
Ken
Ken! Holy cow! What an honor for you to tune in! YOU, my friend, were THE ABSOLUTE BEST. I've seen this show many times, and I was fortunate to see YOUR show many times with family and friends. It was gold. I hope you are doing well. Too damn cool. I'm glad you found it! My arm did hurt, holding the damn camera so long!
It’s so sad that this show is not playing at Universal Studios anymore. It’s so iconic and memorable.
Hi Jordan - I totally agree! And this show and stage provided the 'genesis' of Halloween Horror Nights. So glad I lugged the camera and captured it. Perhaps I will re-upload it in higher quality sometime in the future, as I am doing with some of my older videos. On a side note, if you dig into the comments, the man who actually played "BeetleJuice" is in the thread. Thanks for watching and commenting. - Alfred.
You can still now see these monsters' show in "ユニバーサル・モンスター・ライブ・ロックンロール・ショー(Universal Monsters Live Rock 'n’ Roll Show)" at Universal Studios Japan .
The songs and atmospheres are different from this version...
Love this version of Beetlejuice... bring back sooo many memories when i was like 4 or 5 years old
Hi Alice - THIS was such a fun show. I was sad when the took it down, as I really thought it would be a permanent attraction. Very talented people!
I love what Beetlejuice did to The Phantom! Erik is looking smooth!
The woman playing Bride of Frankenstein here is now one of Universal Studios' entertainment directors, and I believe this is her husband as Frankenstein!
Thank you for uploading
Oh! The Phantom looks very handsome after his Rocking Transformation! He melts my heart!
i went to the BeetleJuice Live at Universal Studios twice. one back in 1996 and the other in 1998. it was great ;)
I was obsessed with beetlejuice when I was little. If I saw this back then I would have been in heaven!
OMG this is amazing because it's fascinating to see how they've changed the show! Thank you Thank you Thank you!
I saw this show back in 2000 i think, i love disney and universal studios! Good times!

OMG!!! Thanks sooooo much!!! It's been well over a decade since I saw this (I was a kid then) and it still amazes me. I loved it.
i went to see this at orlando today and it was amazing!!!!!!!!!!! i LOVED it!
Great share, it's amazing to think I wasn't quite six years old yet when this was fimed.
i love this show
AWESOME!!!! I remember actually being there watching this! I had almost forgotten it!
I love this video so much. It really shows how much the show has evolved. I do miss Phantom and wish I had the chance to see him (but of course I wasnt even BORN in 1992.) Dracula singing Hot Blooded is just too great.
No one wants to meet The Phantom more that I do! I have a huge crush on The Phantom!
Its great to see how much the show has changed since before i was born till now :O
I love how the Phantom and the Wolfman hold on to each other after the Bride starts saying 'day-o'. LOL! Love the video, and love Beetlejuice!
i seen this show in 1997 and 2007 and it was awesome both times
he is a great actor, almost like Keaton., WOW I never been in USA and I saw this. Thanks dude.
Great show.

i loved that show it was great
I watch this show every year :D
OMG I remember this i was five and loved Beetlejuice
my aunt is from london. she just loves that place!
The Phantom of The Opera is looking very handsome! Swoon! I love you, Erik Destler!
Beetle juice monster of rock on stage
This cast from 1992 rocked. Holy crap - 1992.
Beetlejuice just ROCKS!!! Great vid Alfred ;)
"Beetlejuice: The Animated Series" centers around the friendly, but somewhat scheming, Beetlejuice with encounters from his Gothic best friend Lydia. Beetlejuice resides in the Neitherworld while Lydia lives in the Living World with her family. However, she can enter the Neitherworld and visit Beetlejuice by giving the chant in her room:
"Though I know I should be wary,
Still I venture someplace scary;
Ghostly haunting I turn loose ...
Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!"
Most of the time, Lydia only needed to say Beetlejuice's name 3 times since doing so was also necessary in enabling Beetlejuice to enter the human world (though before he is summoned, he is able to manifest in the living domain, usually as a reflection in Lydia's mirror).
@@gsesquire3441 I know.
Angel, I've been seeing that show for YEARS (taking family members and guests) - and the comedian that played him, Ken (see the description) was, without one of the best, if not THE best in my opinion. Do check out his TH-cam page!
one time i was here , the show was running a little late so we had a limbo contest , my grandma and my aunt were up there. it was funny =)
i love little shows like this =] lol
This is genious.
hilarious and absolutely funny no doubt especially the banana boat song phantom and wolf man holding I spilled the candy I was eating
omg i loved this when iw as 9 years old it was so much fun:)
I would love to sing and dance in Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue. I haven't been there in a while but I love it there.
Wow, now I feel old. I was 9 then...
--In fact, I think my family and I visited Universal Orlando that very summer!
I live in London i COME orlando every 2 years and i always watch this
beetlejuice live is awesome. :D
I really wish this show would come back for good! I would love to be onstage with The Phantom of the Opera, if it ever does come back! I have a huge crush on Erik Destler!
I love the Phantom of the opera I want to see him again someday I’ll find away
great vid, this was the best part of Universal Studios! I've just posted some of mine taken at same show in Sept 2007! I couldnt record it all cause i was doing it from a digital camera!
the new show is fun and great, and looking back on this, i'm happy with the changes they made to make it more upbeat and current. but i have to say i miss the part when Frankenstein and the Bride sing love songs to each other, including "Higher and Higher." it's just a little corny here, but i have fond memories. =)
Cool video. I actually filmed this show also in August 1992. Wouldn't it be something if it was the same show, probably not. But Dracula is the same guy for sure. I think you did a great job holding the camera, as I know from experience. I also remember the smoke engulfing the stage and everywhere else and not seeing anything for like 30 seconds. Good times. I just filmed this show in December 2010. It is completly different show, with all new songs, same cast, minus The Phantom of The Opera.
Someone in Universal Creative thought that the old show needed a tune up so they took the costume ideas and show from Osaka Universal's Graveyard Review.
omg! i so remeber this from when i was 9 in 1999 it was still pretty much the same!
OH MY GOD.
Please tell me they still do this!!!
I think all the Monsters in this show would've looked rockin' with their hair shorn short, and wore sparkly, velvet clothes!
Yes i am!
Awesome footage.
Welp..just did my first full day of shows after a 10 year break. Thanks to all who have stayed fans for such a long strange trip.
Hi Felipe -- I don't know; what you might do is expand the description and send an Email to Ken (Betelman) who is the actor/comedian that actually played the part of BeetleJuice in this video. He is amazing and he might have the answer to your question -- but remember, I filmed that over 20 years ago (WOW time flies!). Hope you enjoyed it!
wow this was filmed 2 DAYS after i was born! damn thx for the vid, i love to know what was going on when i was born, no joke
@Lovelypark1 no it is currently still there
i loved this went it was one tv and there
How can 20 minutes video?
Damn, he's an awesome Beetlejuice. Really captured Michael Keaton's mannerisms.
you mean the current show
Oh..and the Geuser in your vid is James Honey.
Okay. These Monsters need a comeback.
I totally agree! That was SUCH a GREAT SHOW and they always had amazing talent doing each part! So glad I recorded this, back in the day, carrying (at the top) the best camcorder I was able to afford.
yo same here XD my b day is june 18 92
Great video Al!
BeetleJuice
BeetleJuice
BEETLEJUICE!!!
I would love to do that everyday as Wolfie or Dracula. I wish I knew how to find out how to do that. You're right the original cast was way better than now but I would nip it in the bud if I was there doing that!
That's awesome. Mind if I ask what you did before and after this show? How long did you play the B man? I'm sorry CA had to get rid of their version :(
I love this version the best. When they added Hip and Hop and got rid of The Phantom... it made me sad...
I must...have him...forever...
i miss see them every weekend
pure, simple fun with good casting and singing. (at least, in my opinion. what little scraps I've seen of newer shows, they're not quite as good)
The Venetian Harper This original was amazing. I go to Universal quite a bit over the past 20 years -- and this one was indeed 'magic.'
Does anyone know if they still do this?He has the Beetlejuice voice down right.
me too
I love beetlejuce he is soooo cute
yes and i love how the have original characters but the new version 2016 is fabs
I think there's a video of that alternate version on youtube. So the 1st version was "Beetlejuice: Dead in Concert" and the 2nd version which I have is "Extreme Ghostbusters"?
i love beetlejuice
Correct.
I think there was an addition to the title of yours. Something like "...on the Great Fright Way".
No worries "Extreme Ghostsbusters" is who they were and thats the main part of the title for searching and catagorizing the show.
"Dead in Concert" had actors portraying (though rarely looking like) the original characters.
i their in 93 when i was 3 and we went to see this and i got scared from the fireworks and we left half way throught the show lol good times
I played him in that show for about 3 years then i got bored with doing the same thing over and over again so i pulled out and moved over to the "Ghostbusters Franchise" show as Walter Peck and Ray Stanz.
I had been 'Geusin on the streets at US Fla when it opened. Before that I was working for Disney Ent.
Now I flip flop between the 2 doing various roles and a dinner show in Kissimmee.
I still do the dead guy for off property events and conventions but not at Universal.
this is 1 of the 2 original cast that opened up the show in 1992
@TomMatt2015 really? how do you know?
whatever happened to phantom of the opera???
That's exactly what I want to know! I guess he just got tired of the cheesy makeovers! I mean, let's face it. Some of the makeovers in this show were just not that good. They just didn't make The Monsters look attractive. I'd love to see this show come back, and this time, I'd love to see The Monsters wear sparkling clothes, and have their hair all bedazzled!
Dude I saw this when I was in Universal Studios. It wasn't that bad..
Do you know if Lauren Boebert was in the audience?
LOL!!!!
i remember this because i was there
Shows being updated again for 2014. Hoping they go back to basics. I just found out that one long time 'Geuse is being let go.
Hi Ray!
Have you ever played the Beetlejuice video games? It certainly would seem kinda weird controlling the character you played.
Angie2343
I'm a big fan of the film. So if there is a Beetlejuice related item, I would check it out.
I played the old NES game and the one for Gameboy (the NES version was ok. The Gameboy was based on the cartoon series.)
There is a new 3D game that's being worked on as a Student/Indy project. I'm not really impressed by it at the moment but after they work out the bugs, it may be better. It's a scare-people-out-of-a-house-so-you-can-marry-Lydia game. No impressive graphics as of yet. Like i said, its in its early stages. There's a video on TH-cam where one of the creators walks you through the first level and it has a link to downland the demo.
In all these game you see the Geuse and It feels like it's just a Mario type game with the Beetlejuice theme.
I do like the concept of the of the newest game Scare the people out. There was a game a few years back which I loved and I wish they would make a sequel called Ghost Master. It had scenarios from famous B-movie films and you job was to "Bio-exorcise" the living out of each one with the help of spirits that you collect and are master to. It was funny and had some elements of scares that Beetlejuice might be able to do . One of my favorite parts is the music. It starts out slowly and as you gain energy and the people start freaking out more ite begins to sound similar to the opening credits to the movie.
I would love to see a game come out where i feel as if really am The Ghost With the Most.

As you were in this show. :) My only gripe, a minor one, is that we don't see Lydia appear. Imagine interacting with her on stage back then.
Angie2343 They had Lyds with me for about 3 months as a test run during my pre-show bit , after I come out of the mummy case but, the company didn't want to pay for another actor on the stage. Before the show was created I had another girl who played Lydia who would stroll around the park with me. She eventually moved to California and became Wynona Ryder's stand in during the filming of "Braham Stokers' Dracula".
Another issue with Universal is they can't make up their mind if they want the Keaton Juice or the one from the cartoon series.
betelman
I see. :) Would have been cool to see her if they kept her around. I'd ask if Lydia if her and Beej were gonna get married again, this time for real. ;)
And yeah, that's a minor gripe I have too, so what you get is a hybrid. And a good one too. :) I guess the reason was if the Keaton version of the character was in use, parents would get very upset.
that was cool!
Saw the new show yesterday......shoot me.
7:50 Wolfman kills it!
haha i guess u werent using ur small Sanyo Exacti then eh?
wow!
I saw this on 01/96
MY parents were there! I used to have it on tape....but I don't now.
Sorry no. I just checked the vid and i didn't do that version. I do recognise 2 of the actors. Winston = Keifus Matthews
Glasses = Tommy Wooten
I did the first version which was run at the same time as this video- "Beetlejuice : Dead in Concert". Just about the same show except the posession scene is a bit longer in "Extreme".
got any moey
wow 15 years ago!!
