Never trapped before but have invested in some traps to start trapping my property. Newb question but why don't you dispatch fox/coyote in the trap. Was the benefit of releasing them alive and putting them in the truck?
Shifted a camera on the first from watching traps back to watching a food plot.....got a dang coyote walking by it LAST NIGHT! I needed another week and its not 5 yards from where the set I caught in on the last night was.
I bought some traps from a guy. Pan tension was set wayyyyy too light. Pushed down on the jaws to bed the trap and it went off and caught that single finger lol. Needless to say I adjusted them all after that
You have to have them tagged. I have 2 tags on each of my traps. 1 is on the D loop at the base of the trap and then another one right below the shock spring. Sometimes the coyotes will chew them off. That’s why I have 2 on there
Hey brother I live in nc to and I just got into trapping and already got a raccoon in one of them foot traps and I just bought a ton of steel traps because I’ve got at least 20 coyotes on my trail cams around my property and they have been harassing my dogs and getting into my chickens so I was wandering what bait do you use and I have no equipment like you do besides them steel traps and I want to save some money so if there’s anything I can buy at Walmart for bait let me know
Bait: can of mackerel, pound raw burger, 2 eggs, 1/4 cup or so of bacon grease or used cooking oil. You can use it immediately. It'll taint in a few days. Before it goes too bad, stop the taint with a couple tablespoons of salt. Those catfish bait balls at Walmart that stink so bad are good. One down a hole is hard for varmints of any kind to walk by. I'd get some fox urine. I use dog and cat poop as an attractant. I'm not overrun with coyotes so I get a lot of bobcats, coons, and possums to every coyote. Your dogs are at risk with anything but DPs unless you're a lot better trainer than me. If you have fire ants, baits aren't great for warm weather. But poops, urine, dough balls, and lures are still effective. I haven't been trapping long and I don't do furs (Texas). I just try to help the deer and turkeys on my 150 acres. It's a satisfying hobby since I retired.
Idk what he does but I think he said he caught 30 coyotes in a week and from my understanding those live market coyotes go for good money so he may be making more catching coyotes
Congratulations great catches again , mam that sure was a deep pad catch he wasn't going nowhere thanks for sharing

Got my thumb snapped last October. The nail is just now grown back like normal.
I live in Nc to and people tell me I need name tags on my traps, I noticed you did not have them so I was going to ask about that

dude STOP being late to work. sooner or later that welcome mat is going to be pulled. maybe change your schedule to start at 9am or something bro!
yeah it seems like every video he’s late but hey maybe his boss is really cool
Idk what he does but I think he said he caught 30 coyotes in a week and from my understanding those live market coyotes go for good money so he may be making more catching coyotes
I have the best boss. Our winter time work schedule is slow so it doesn’t bother him one bit. He knows that I’ll be there by 9 no matter what.
I wish I caught 30 in a week lol. Best I did this year was 11 in 1 week
@@CarolinaCoyote I thought you said you had caught 30 in a week in a video😂
