I really enjoy watching the set making. I wish more TH-cam trappers did that. I love using wax sand and I use way more than you. Great videos. I appreciate your effort putting out these videos.
I’m glad you enjoy it! I contemplate all the time about leaving the set making in the videos due to it getting repetitive, but I remember when I first started that was what I was looking for. Thanks for watching!
I worry so much about my sets freezing in I end up making my sets a little different than you. I am just a little north of you in Virginia, but when I put that much dirt over my wax sand, a coyote could tape dance on the pan and it won’t fire.
I’ve been watching your videos like crazy, tomorrow I go out and set my first line ever. I’m very excited and am feeling way more confident after watching your videos to go out and do the damn thing! Sure appreciate you spending the time to explain what you’re doing for us beginners man!
Would you make a video explaining why and when to use certain lures and baits. Love your vids and watch every one. Just started coyote trapping this year.
Good stuff! On that walkthrough set when you have to remake it. Take your sifter and drag it in a straight line about 6 or 7 feet so there’s a small rigid on each side in the sand and smooth and flat in the center. Set your trap then lightly dust the whole trail you made with the sifter. Coyotes and fox will walk that slick trail and as you done put lure in a punch hole there to slow them down.
Really enjoyed this video. I appreciate the time you take making sets showing exactly what you do at each one. Can’t wait to see the next one when you’re checking these sets. Tight chains sir and the link I’m sharing is for a really good stake driver in my opinion.
That blind set you made is the one to make the hit first , I always carry a small hand held whisk broom , makes trails look nice an natural… Good video Goodluck Out There BeSafe ..
It’s a challenge to catch yotes in timber. Having to deal with coon and opossum is the biggest factor. I’ve learned that foxes and bobcats like the timber more so than coyote
@ ya that’s what I’ve noticed dealing with the coons and possums. Had some good luck on trapping near thick pines. But I always try to set on where I find tracks or scat. . Keep up the good work bro gonna try to order some of ur lure this weekend 🇺🇸💯👍👍
@ ya that’s what I’ve notice the coons and possums. I’ve always set on sign but it’s usually near the thick pines. Keep up the good work bro. I’m gonna try to order some of your lure this weekend 💯👍🇺🇸
It looks as if your hole you dig is dug at taper all the way around. Does that help with solid bedding? Can you make a video showing more details on how you are actually making your trap bed solid?
I noticed you're not using poly fill anymore. Using peat moss and wax sand in the colder months to prevent freezing? Or is this how you would set even in warmer weather?
I tried the caverns baits and lures, but I did really good this year using trapper j all predator bait, stanky beaver, and long call lure called oh fuck.
@@CarolinaCoyote Thanks! I think I’m gonna try using wax sand and pete, next week. Great content, my friend. I’ve learned a lot from you. Hopefully they get your channel monetized again🤙
@huntinfishinwithDwayne they’re probably about to delete all trapping channels in general here soon. I’d suggest giving my rumble account a follow so you can keep watching my content whenever they do. Thanks for supporting me!
Great work. You got me pumped up to get some in the ground now thanks
excellent trap setting tutorial. As a coyote trapper, i would of loved to have these vids when starting.
Thanks for all your hard work!

I’ll set just like that in warmer weather as well!!
Ha first
Great video Isaac! Is the hammer you use the Freedom Brand hammer from FNT post trap supplies?
Yes
@ thanks the reason I ask is because I keep breaking my fiberglass sod buster and I am looking for something a bit better and heavier. Thanks!
Could I use chicken scat on a blind set as a curiosity lure
Definitely could
Do you ever get deer in traps? I've caught 3 or 4 and need to figure out how to keep that from happening. Any suggestions?
Yes. There’s nothing you can do about it, just something you have to deal with as a trapper
I tried the caverns baits and lures, but I did really good this year using trapper j all predator bait, stanky beaver, and long call lure called oh fuck.
So no pan cover at all? How deep are your traps looks pretty deep?
Nope! Peat moss inside the jaws!!
So, how far under the surface does the top of your trap sit? Looks like you have about an inch of dirt above the trap
I try to put the pan 1/4” below grade. Or put a 1/4” of dirt on top of the pan
