Hi Allan, thanks for the heads up on these new hunts couplings I’ve got a lot of coaches with the old big D couplings that I don’t run because of them majority of my stock I run with hunts couplings cheers Al
In the past I've had problems with changing to Hunt couplings. One was them being extremely brittle and breaking too easily, and the other was their variation in thickness/size. Some fitted nem pockets and some didn't without modification. But after saying that Al, your demo shows they may have come on a bit since the early days and are worthy of another look. Thanks for a very informative video mate. Atb Graham 👍 🙂
They have come on in leaps and bounds since the early day Graham . Wait till you see how they do the wagons even more simple to do .just Check the web site under new releases . Merry Christmas Graham and family.
Love the Hunts Couplers. I wish they were available in California in the 1970s when had a model railway layout. If I had a layout today, I would be using Hunts. I would be willing to pay the post and shipping costs to my house. Bill and Janet from California
I painted my Hornby Teak Coaches with that Citadel paint, and I agree they look a lot better. I like those Hunt couplings, and it will be something that I will do in the New Year. They can reverse a lot more reliably with those couplings too. As for shunting, I would leave a Big D on the front of the first coach. Thanks for making this video. Martin. (Thailand)
Yes i understand on the first coach . i think they are working on a plan for the locos as well .but that will be in the new year. I`ll keep an eye on that .
Fantastic, certainly has improved the tesk rake no end. Just goes to show large D stock definitely has a place on modern layouts with this conversion. Nice one Allan.
Congratulations dear Allan i love British rolling stock but it's very difficult for me change old couplings you made a perfect job my friend thumbs up, have a nice day alberto 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😊😊😊😊😊😊
Nice demo M'Lord they are certainly a vast improvement on the tension locks. I may have considered these myself but have gone down the Kadee route which does have the added advantage of remote uncoupling as well as being able to pick items straight up of the track if need be.
Lovely informative and excellently delivered tutorial Lord Al. Many thanks. Very inspirational channel!
Thank you. Merry Christmas.
This will certainly be useful in the future Allan, Thanks for sharing.
Am sure it help quite a few .

There you go nice little project for next year.
Wonderful demonstration and walkthrough, m'lord. You made it look easy-peasy and well done!
Thank you Anthony.

Thank you and Merry Christmas to you and family.
Already ordered those couplings, thanks for the information.

Hi Al
Excellent demonstration there and I have quite a few Lima and Hornby coaches with the big Ds that need changing .
Cheers Kev
There you go Kevin . Nice project for you .
Merry Christmas Kevin .
LORD AL!!
Another genius idea from the guys at West Hill Wagon works.
Great job Allan and nice tutorial.
Take care buddy.
Thank you Deano.

Yes Bill Hunt`s couplings are a god send today .

It does now John . Am well happy with them .

Thank you so much Alberto. Merry Christmas.
Very nice. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers.
Brilliant idea I have done similar with hornby vacuum pipes
it`s so simple when you look at it and it works perfect. Thanks for watching.
Nice layout 😊 hope you have a wonderful Christmas too 🚆🚅 🎄
Thank you and Merry Christmas to you and family.
Coupler are something that can drive me crazy, thanks for the advice. Merry Christmas 🎄
Thank you . sutch a simple idea and it works.
Great- thanks for sharing.

True with Kadee`s but they are expensive. at least you get 10 pairs for £16. with the hunts.
merry xmas .whats your coupling between loco tender and coach?
Normal hunts couplings..westhillwagonworks.com
Hi Allen did you have to do the loco tender
Yes Just a normal hunts coupling a close coupling works.
Don't throw the hooks away, others might be grateful of them put them on EBay
Hi again Allen , is your layout dcc or dc
All DCC David with no bus wires all on fish plates over 200 feet of running track.
@@lord-al-2024 Thanks lord all it just shows that you do not need all paraphernalia that most dcc operators use
I happly agree to close coupling
