@@shannoncowans2855 I got the GP1R with etched logo. Titanium DeCat. Black canister. From the research I did, the factory headers are a very good flow and getting a full AR system would only give you maybe 1-2hp. I decided to just go DeCat as I don't track it. Factory headers are also titanium so to me, it's not justifiable to spend the extra cash on a full system.

I noticed on the dyno, when he lets off on the throttle, the chain snaps tight. I remember reading somewhere that a chain is more likely to break just when you let off on the throttle and indeed from your video, it's easy to see why. I can't explain the dynamics of that though.
I have had one chain break happen to me, and yeah, it happened when I let off on the throttle. After getting a tow home I discovered I had a spare master link / clip with me so yeah, i could have fixed it on the road. Oh well.
Nah, slipper clutch helps with chain snap and decel bucking.

The R1 looks Amazing!
I can vouch for John / Black Widow Power Sports work. He turned my stock 37HP 2015 R3 to a much different 41HP animal. It doesn't sound like much but the power band is so much better. A couple 1000 miles later and it still feels like it did when I got it back from John with 0 reliably issues.
Can't wait to see the aftermarket exhaust you gonna put on that beast!

I Have an R1 one as well.. i bought it used and it already has a two brothers exhaust on it . But that thing is WAY too LOUD thinking about getting a another exhaust that has that more condensed sound...

How tall are you? I’m asking because I currently have a FZ09 but the R1 is my dream bike however, I’m 6’6” and can not find a single sport bike that is even remotely comfortable on my knees. I’m wondering how other tall riders fare, work around, etc. thanks for the vid!
I know that the r1 is not a bike meant for comfort by any means. But, how long of a ride can you ride that bike before your just soar? Because just like you I don't really plan to regularly track my bike.
You’re going to love it when you flash the ecu I made 181hp on my 18 r1
I got free flow race exhaust from austin racing (illegal exhaust system for street), and a custom ecu flash and tuned , carbon fibre wheels, and lighter drivetrain, and slightly bigger cams, i had 220hp at the wheel(only track bike,not Street legal )

You should check out Saddlemen I think they’re an American firm and their seat for the R1 look really nice plus you get the matching cover for the pillion seat aswell

I figured 175HP. Now I know what my bike makes. Thank you for the video. I have a power commander installed on my 2020 and after the install is when they said that there is only a base map! 😐 Great job buddy! Keep the videos coming!
Did you saw the maps they added in the last few days? There is a full Akrapovic map there.
Sazon Moto you wasted your time just doing a base BS fuel map when the actual throttle is severely restricted on these new bikes. Once available an ECU will do much more for you than a PC.
@@dbtrackz33 I know this now. I didn't know at the time when I was getting the PC installed. Whenever the ECU flash becomes available I will most definitely jump on it... in the meantime I will wait until the release of the ECU flash when the next-gen R1 is released at the rate we're going
The speedometer is on miles or km ?
The ECU flash will probably be 20hp. I email FTECU monthly asking for updates and they are refusing to give any details about why there is a delay. They once told me that it would be ready by March of this year.
You can see it chop up top. The non US-spec ECUs normally get 184.

Would you recommend this place to get a bike tuned/flashed? How about AF1 Racing? In Austin so AF1 is closer.
The trouble with AF1 is they are either backed up or their Dyno is "not operational now" more often than not as I have tried numerous times to schedule a Dyno session with them. I stopped calling last year, dunno if it's changed since then

@@daytonadude1095 Take HWY 281, less traffic. I plan on taking my bikes down there soon too, seems like you can chat with him and pick his brain. AF1 is a very good shop/dealership, but their dyno dept is frustrating. I felt I got the cold shoulder/pretentiousness from them when I was asking a lot of questions about dyno, that to me is enough for me to look elsewhere...

Keep Us update on the ECU flash. 2020 r1 ECU as far as I know right now. No one fully cracked it yet and it has been almost a year already.

175whp is good for US spec r1 (euro spec does 187whp bone stock) bike rated 188bhp at the crank in usa models. 193whp is with ecu flashed or completely stock bike as r1?
193 was stage 1 flash, single gear

Did anybody catch how close the back tire came to making contact with the dyno platform at around the 5:54 mark,should never come that close to the platform.
Any idea why that happend?
Akhil k I noticed that there were no rear straps on the bike just on the front tire.Suspension to soft to let it compress that much and maybe to far forward on drum,who knows too close for my comfort.

I heard you complaining about the seat. Dude you're on an R1 and rode 2 hrs. If you want comfort you should have got an Mt 10, or an MT09 like me.

Wheel was already turning. The R1 has so much torque at low rpm, I can start the bike from a dead stop in 6th.
@@motonosity giving it full gas at low rpm will put overstress on all the engine internals.Ask any mechanic .

I can tell you that I owned s1000r and now r1 2020. The r1 is much faster, much faster.. can't even compare and r1 2020 is euro 5 atleast here in eu but then again us has even more restrictions. My r1 2020 dynoed 179 stock, with flash and pipe it's going to make +190.
EJR performance look them up. He has R1 with over 200hp
EJR is awesome, but that's not a 2020R1 with the euro5 restrictions..there is no full flash for the 2020R1 as of yet.

The roads in america look so boring they're legit just straight and there are no curves at all.. You should really go to Germany and ride in the "Odenwald" or the Alps it like a thousand times better. And you can go fast because we all know it: The "Autobahn"
Autobahn is boring, you need to try riding from Mostar to Sarajevo. One of the best roads for fast riding. On some parts of the road, speeds are over 250km/h.
It really depends on where you live in the US. If you live near mountains, then you're going to have tons of curves. To say that there are no curves in America is pretty ignorant lol. Places like the Great Smoky Mountains and the Rockies are notorious for the endless miles of curves with incredible views. And if you don't live near the mountains, you just need to know where to look. In this particular video, I was riding in Texas between cities on the interstate. Obviously, you're not going to be going through curves. That's be a pretty inefficient way to build a highway system lol
