      Seems they had a distribution agreement with Turtle Wax and had Cleaner Wax and Shampoo available virtually worldwide. I couldn't pin down any real specifics and it seems that agreement has ceased now so I left it out.

    I’m in the Uk. Loved this back in the very early 1990s. I ordered a replacement tub of Zymöl in the uk and received swizzle. Emailed zymol HQ to say I didn’t think it was so good and didn’t like the new name. and Chuck called me on the phone to enquire and told me it was fake.

    Is hd cleanse the same as rubbing compound? I understand we need to strip down to the clear...just trying to decifer if hd cleanse is marketing hype or do you really need it for using with zymol titanium and higher end waxes.

    • @TranquilityBaseDetailing
      @TranquilityBaseDetailing  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Think of it more like a prewax. It's only minorly abrasive but does leave a lovely surface to wax on. I highly recommend it. That being said to properly prep for waxing you'd remove tar, iron, clay then polish.
      Rubbing compound is a very unrefined product indeed. I wouldn't put that on anything I cared for.

      @@TranquilityBaseDetailing Thanks. I ve always used hd cleanse but was curious what it actually is. I appreciate the feedback. I understand the tar and clay part, but what do you mean by iron? Great video by the way.

    • @TranquilityBaseDetailing
      @TranquilityBaseDetailing  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@davidthompson9295 Iron particles get embedded in the paintwork. Mainly a result of brake dust to be fair. When cleaning paint completely the advised route is tar remover first. Then an iron remover such as Carpro Iron X and then clay.

    Having been trained on the use of Zymol in 2008 and used premium waxes such as Vintage and Royale, I can vouch for the quality. Note also that prices havent really changed much since, so the waxes and glazes are becoming more affordable and well worth trying. This kind of quality is hard to find, though you can at www.morethanpolish.com

    I had no idea they were from the states, presumed they were European like Swissvax. I’ve never tried a Zymol Wax, in the days when I bought expensive waxes (as everything else was pants), I went down the Swissol route as they were then called. Too many excellent sub £50 waxes these days for me to spend more than that.

      Yes the assumption is a Swiss base like Swissvax, I agree you can get some stunning waxes for sub 50 quid so it's tough to justify spending more. I guess if you fancied treating yourself it's worth a consider.

    Ok so chuck went to Germany bought some of their polish, worked out what was in it. Advanced the product and trademarked it as his own? He Even had the brass neck to sue the swiss for doing the same to him? is that something to be proud of? considering how much good ol Chuck charges for Zymol!
