I edited this video myself this time so I hope it's ok - is the music too loud? I can never tell! 😅 And thanks again to Skillshare for sponsoring this video, their classes have been such a useful resource for me. It's really nice to see someone talk about the fact that it's ok to struggle a bit in the beginning of the year. Social media has been filled with energy, dreams, and plans for the new year. This can be super motivation but also a bit stressful if you yourself are feeling a bit down or uninspired. We have this expectation on ourselves that the beginning of a new year has to be great and productive. But it's more than oki if it's not❤
I'm going into my second year of the daily doodle diary challenge and it's been a huge help, now I experiment more with art and create whatever random art I feel like! 100% recommend 🥰
As a mother of 5, I feel this intensely. I give so much to my family that I’m exhausted and out of time at the end of the day. It’s hard. I did figure that I get the chores done that HAVE to be done right away, then go right to the studio in the morning. If I don’t get the rest of the chores done I’m not too hard on myself, but I feel like I’ve gotten the essentials done AND have been creative. ❤
I needed to see this video today! I think it’s my ADHD paired with the winter fog, but I go through moments of intense hyperfixation on my 278 projects, followed by a week or two of zero interest. I also will dive into my favorite video games, read, write, or find a puzzle or something to do when I know I shouldn’t push myself to be creative. Thanks for the motivating words 🤗
Been watching a lot of your videos the last couple months as I try to lead into more creativity and trying to reduce the pressure I put on myself that always makes me stop creating, and I just wanted to say what great value your video have to me so thank you, sometimes it's nice having someone break what you're going through and supporting my art journey
Thank you for sharing your story as it gives me hope to get out of my creative block. It inspires me to make something easy with clear instructions to follow and be patient and caring with myself instead of being hard on myself…. Thank you once again. ❤❤❤ Editing was very good as always…. Wish you all the best to get back to your creative flow.🌻🍀
Thank you for sharing your story. I have on and off felt this way too and this is a good reminder to do activities that don't require too much thinking! I'll try that ❤
I am experiencing the same weird early year vibe. Like usually this is my FAVORITE time of year and I'm excited and joyful, but for some reason this time around I am struggling.
Hi Mimi, music wasn't too loud on the video it was still quiet enough for you to be heard :) Good job on the editing. I'm struggling w/ my motivation atm too, finally finished my first sketchbook now to start the second.

This video is great! I appreciate the honesty and for me it made me feel better for personally not being in a huge artistic mood.
Thank you 🎨 ✍️ 😀🙏

Using pastels as watercolour, so clever. 😁

3:42 I’ve never seen chalk pastels used like that before! 👀
Thank you for such a helpful video, Mimi! This video made me feel much less negative about struggling with creative motivation! 🥰
Hope you’re ok ❤
I do diamond paintings to reset my brain. You dont need to think and have a nice picture at the end. 😊
Oh that's a great idea!

Rest and enjoy craft it is the psychologists of the soul. This is what I do when I’m with no inspiration. Have fun.😊❤
I haven't been feeling super creative this year so far either 😢
Thanks for the video ✨
