Wow the wing is just insanely huge. Saw this bird in the sky once heading into JFK this past summer. In all my life riding airliners... this one is mind boggling.
I would not call it a fear of flying I love the flying part. It should be called fear of crashing! Great video by the way. That wing reminds me of the roof at my local mall.....HUGE!
Nice steady video, well done. At the point of take-off, the previously drooping outer portion of the wing flexes upwards and this is an amazing sight. Quite noisy flap retraction though...
Totally true. Before the A380 I was woke up every morning at 7:00 by the 747 which makes New York-Paris. Now that it's replaced by an A380, I've never been woked up this early the morning. (I live under the final approach of Charle-de-Gaulle Airport.)
amazingly quiet piece of high-tech! ANd it goes up pretty fast (reaching clouds within less than 2 min of flight) coz that 8h trip is no match for that ultra long haul ac
hello Jonathon keep up the good work iam in mexico city right now but i live in the usa and when i go back i will make a lot of more videos about airplanes and iam going to make a video of airplane collection but keep up the good work thank you by.
MinatoNamikazeSenpai, That noise you heard was from the hydraulic motors that move the flaps. If you look at the flaps during the time frame you indicated, you'll see the flaps move inward.
mogofou. I agree that it not a constant noise but it's a little more than twice. Firstly, on the ground before take off, then after take off (retracted in 2 stages), before landing (4/5 stages to gradually deploy full flap) and then retracted while taxiing. Airbus have done a great job producing such a quiet and peaceful cabin so it's a shame the ambience is shattered by such a loud noise, especially when a bit of local soundproofing around the hydraulic motors could virtually eliminate it.
one time at heathrow, in carpark next to runway, i watched one take off and they are so quiet compared to 747, i just wish i will get to fly on one some day
@chenoir i live on the turning point of the final of runway 24L, 24R and 23. this is in toronto. planes turn over my house to meet the runway and the only two planes that i can tell apart from the others are the roar of rolls-Royce 747 engines and the beastly ear splitting, beautiful sound of the A380! [music to my ears]
Lucky!! I live by Albany International Airport, and the only loud planes that come over my house hapens 5 times a week. It's a Boeing 727. Is a 747 louder than a 727?
WOW that was very quiet! The A340 is deafening when it takes off! Does anyone know what that strange sound is at 3:43? It sounds like something is turning on...then off?
I think it's the pressure of the landing gear against the fuselage being dropped when the airplane is airborne and the weight isn't on the landing gear anymore. Anyone else agree?
each of us expected longer time for this airplane to take of,but this didnt happen ,cos the flaps are at 30-45 deg.unlike most jet liners, which take off with flaps at 10 deg.
"What's with the "ding" when the landing gear is retracted? I've noticed that on every Airbus video and every Airbus that I have flown on." All Airbus aircraft have the chime when gear goes up or down.
True about the fuel rate however, the new 748's are said to have lower fuel consumption then the a380. Qantas is considering to purchase 748's(I hope to see that) I'm a little bias though, I really dislike airbus aircraft. However, I have always loved the 747 series is and always will be the queen of the skies.
mogofou. The drive motors are normally inside the fuselage, under floor (the reason you hear them), so it wouldn't interfere with aerodynamics at all. I much prefer Airbus to Boeing (especially since the tanker fiasco) but if Boeing can make them silent, why can't Airbus?
you have this impression due to the engines are quite far from you and also the engines are below the wings witch makes a "barrier" for the sound. Plus, the flaps are noisy because he was seated right above the flap engine.
i almost drove two hours to see the first A380 at JFK but my dad wouldn't take me out of school. The he ended up up seeing one at our home airport. i am so jealous of him. lol. and it was doing the same route as him. took off 20 minutes later but landed 10 minutes earlier than his delta plane did
As good as this video is, as an take-off safety procedure all ELECTRONIC DEVICES SHOULD BE TURNED OFF UNTIL THE SEATBELT SIGN IS TURNED OFF. This coming from a cabin crew member, and I know there is next to no chance that a tiny camera will interfere with the planes electronics but of respect to the hardworking crew it should be turned off. x
Takeoff speed entirely depends on how much lift the wings can generate at a given airspeed. That's simply a design decision on Airbus' part. The A380 could have a lower takeoff speed than a 747. It even may, I don't know. Large airliners are generally designed to keep the takeoff/landing speeds as low as possible. After all, what pilot wants to takeoff/land that thing any faster than he has to? :-) You could get a skyscraper to fly, if you streamlined it and attached large enough wings :-)
What do you expect when you're sat right near the wings and flaps, ANY aircraft you go on you can here the flaps and alot of the time landing gear also. The reason you can hear the flaps more than usual is because the engines are so quiet if u went on a 747 and sat in a similar position the flap motors will be drowned out by the rumble of the old spinners
An absolutely out-of-this-world, mind-blowing video of a magnificent Airbus A380 taking off!
What I found amazing was that the motors from the flaps were louder than the noise from the engines. Excellent video.
The coolest takeoff ive ever seen . thanks man .
wow, look at the size of that wing..i just love the "music" of those flaps retracting..the engines are pretty quiet,so makes the take-off less scary..
Wow the wing is just insanely huge. Saw this bird in the sky once heading into JFK this past summer. In all my life riding airliners... this one is mind boggling.
Beautiful take off.
Beautiful flap retratcion.
I would not call it a fear of flying I love the flying part. It should be called fear of crashing! Great video by the way. That wing reminds me of the roof at my local mall.....HUGE!
Love the sound of the flaps when retracting!!!!
Beautiful and awe-inspiring.
I like how the faster the plane goes the wings flexes upwards :D
MORE LIFT MAN!!
Nice steady video, well done. At the point of take-off, the previously drooping outer portion of the wing flexes upwards and this is an amazing sight. Quite noisy flap retraction though...
I always get a massive grin on my face when taking off in a plane I love it!! lol
Effortless take off, with lots of spare power for safety. Smooth as silk.
A very long t/o roll... and an extremely beautiful wing flex. :)
What an amazing aircraft! It really is quiet too! If the flaps are louder than the actual takeoff rolls than you know that the engines are quiet lol
wow thats a huge plane and its rly smooth.
wow nice video, i love it...it most be very nice to fly on this beast..
Totally true.

the wings are so big its unbelievable :O, and they are so quiet on take off, i saw one take off in car park right against runway at heathrow :D
thank you Ahmed, beautiful magnificent machine
Nice video - good job and thanks.
Wonder how turbulence feels in such a big aircraft.
amazingly quiet piece of high-tech! ANd it goes up pretty fast (reaching clouds within less than 2 min of flight) coz that 8h trip is no match for that ultra long haul ac
That is a lotta wing!!! WOW ! I would love to fly on one of those!
i love the sound at 3:43, sounds so cool lol
Awesome video. That is one big wing!
what a monster!!!
i love it!
this things a monster... why are the flaps retracting so loud??
hello Jonathon keep up the good work iam in mexico city right now but i live in the usa and when i go back i will make a lot of more videos about airplanes and iam going to make a video of airplane collection but keep up the good work thank you by.
What's with the "ding" when the landing gear is retracted? I've noticed that on every Airbus video and every Airbus that I have flown on.
impresive video I have been on many different model plane but not an a380 800

Amazing wing flex
Love it, awesome vid!
Hey great vid
(scared of flying)
but what was that noise from
3:42-3:52?
how did you get the wing view?
VERY ! AWESOME :D
BUt the drag is increased dramaticaly right?
wat seat row is that, going on 380 soon and want the best wing view
wonderful taking off not so noisy for a large plane
looks like full flaps??on take off?
wonderful ... thanks alot!!!
WOW that was very quiet! The A340 is deafening when it takes off!
Does anyone know what that strange sound is at 3:43? It sounds like something is turning on...then off?
perfeitooooo!
muito lindo ... a aerodinamica...
perfect....
damn departure took long but then again its the grand mighty airbus
nice video
the clouds look nice...!!!!!
No loud engine roar during take off, like you had with the DC-10.
omg, the wings are so big you can't see anything else than the wings :D
whutt whuzz the flight number i think i whuzz on this flight plz respondd
Damn those engines must pump some power...
An awesome aircraft with expected service life of 50 years - HOLY SHIT !!
is it even loud outside or is it just the windows blocking the sound
I think it's the pressure of the landing gear against the fuselage being dropped when the airplane is airborne and the weight isn't on the landing gear anymore. Anyone else agree?
ur sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo lucky
i love airplanes and i know alot about them and my favorite one is the A380
and the antonov 225
Oh my God!!!
Huge wing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@viceroytennis i thought there were gonna get GP7200 i'm pretty shure its GP7200
next week i am flyin from dubai to new zealand......on an airbus a380...cant wait...
what a huge wings.... it's almost covering the view....
Awesome
My family and I might be going to Austraila when we get the chance, so I'm going to see if I can try to get a flight to there in one of these beauts.
cool clip ahmed
I could build a nice little house on that wing...very quiet takeoff...I prefer the drama of an MD-80 takeoff at full thrust, but I'm old school.
what's the take off speed?
why is there is beep sound after takeoff for a while

yes it does. it needs a LOT more lift to get airborne
classy vid
canI know what's the seat number Thx
now THATS a big plane =D
Thank you :)
Man, the flaps are LOUD!!!
Oh, yeah. I noticed that all newer planes generally have louder flaps than the old ones. I wonder what's the reason for this.
going on one soon
He has downloaded it here from TH-cam. From the one who has really filmed it.
Yes, it is an audible indication. I knew that and was replying to an earlier question, sorry.
Always reassuring to hear it though!
Wow...the engines are so quiet!
thats just crazy look at the size of that wing !!!!! 30 meters, almost the size of a boeing 737 !
@fingerspies how the f**k is an a380 a cessna???

they are really loud indeed, but the take off is so quiet 5stars
Im going to Bangkok by an A380 of Emirates this year... Think its gonna be great

cool!
Concorde was shut down, and airbus came with new plane ;-)
Just talk. It alleviates the stress mate! ;D
@shrimpo13 cool they can take off in a car park, thats handy
Yeah, that wing is a freakin' field.
no it's actually really quiet on take offs
