Thank you for the tutorial. Our company apparently won't spend the money for a screen cleaning service so I am going to have to do it myself. Two questions, though: Does this same process work for silver 3D screens as well? Also, what major stores can I find screen cleaning detergent to purchase?
Silver screens have to be cleaned a different way, I believe the silver will flake off if done this way that is shown. If you ever found out how to do it, please let me know!
Silver screens require special brushes and a different washing and agitation technique so to minimize removal of silver and prevent flaking. Usually distilled water is used and the time involved is two fold.
I guess I never thought about a movie screen being abused by theater goers.When I was a kid going to Saturday Matinees I remember kids throwing Popcorn,candy,at the Screen. I don't remember any Pop being thrown.I guess I got raised to respect other people's property and possessions; because why would I want to ruin something at a theater that I visited weekly.If I saw someone doing that to a Movie Screen Today;I would probably beat the $hit out of them when they got outside...

Wowsers. Can I just dust my projector screen/home theater. It's not dirty but I would like to keep it that way.
Why rinse it in the cleaning water?
You are working a section at a time. It helps speed up the process, however, if the screen is very dirty a separate rinse is used.
Why Javex is not good idea? if I apply it equally?

Depending of dust accumulation, stains, and size anywhere from 15min to 1hr.
