Good for Calan for not yielding to pressure, but I wish he had drawn the line about the difference between following norms to fit in and respecting boundaries. A blanket "I belong anywhere I want to be" attitude goes a little too far if left unqualified.

Thought provoking episode as always! In particular, I loved Calan's courageous and inspiring anecdotes! Yes, there are so many personal ways of being empowered irrespective of habits and preferences even if one is asexual! Got reminded of a comment once shared by a Tarot reader in TH-cam (Jenny Florence): empowerment is not about holding power over others but over oneself!

YES... it's not only about how I'm empowered... but 'our' shared power with another man !.. Sure at times one I a scene/loving SHARING time will take the lead... but hopefully he's doing it because HE knows they BOTH like what's happening...( granted I don't understand a true slave mindset... I guess it works....) but EXPERIMENTING, trying NEW things and then aftercare discussions ARE wonderful. ALL of this I know brings men closer, more connected (yes in all ways connected... electro :) and YES let's recognize that not every man needs to match/fit a style especially around leather, kink.. Isn't it about sharing, discussing our differences AND wants... and by shared retellings of our experiences... this builds community, even love..... AND TKS for saying that Hook-Up cultures are the ONLY way... Keep UP the good talks. (yes after I return from work I'll join your Patreon....).

Really enjoyed this it made me think a lot.
I like the mention of the hook up culture part.
For myself I have never been a very outwardly sexual person. I have explored it and it just never felt right. I fit more into Demi sexuality. My idea of a fulfilling sexual relationship is with someone I care deeply for.
When I came out I was ushered into a world of hook up culture and being told that I wasn’t really gay or I was wrong because I didn’t want to hook up with people. I wanted to find someone I connected with and who I shared ideals with. I was also shamed because my idea of the relationship that fills my cup is a “heterosexual one” (I hate that terminology because relationships are whatever you make them.)
I want to get married and have kids and make a life with one man, is it guaranteed to work out like a fantasy? No but I want to try that. I was told that I was wrong because I wanted monogamy and wanted a “straight” relationship with a man.
To this day I have internalised homophobia from those experiences and still experience pushback and being told I’m wrong because I want that life and it feels right to me.

Hi guys. I, like Matt, am much more aroused by fore play and sweet noises and cuddling than penetration (not that I don’t enjoy it, I just like it more too), so I completely relate. And yeah, those empowering tips are great, and I already do it: own it, explore, use porn for new ideas, and try different things at least once. Thanks!
