if you dont know them that well, you will mistakenly classify them as a vocal group.. this group has 5 rappers 5 singers 5 dancers and can do almost all genres. they are monsters in live performances.

Omg you found them. These boys are my baby BTOB . They are super humble they are so funny and vocally awesome Plus those rapper are other level. Their lyrics always have deeper meanings and at the same time so much fun. Their ballads....mama mia. Superb. Every song speaks of not giving up or not giving in, you're okay I'm okay etc. And there's the finger at society norms saying don't count us out, we're growing and coming up. About voice types, sound and general public I thought I’d share my thoughts (apologies in advance for a long message and if the comment is a bit jumpy)!
I think in the Philippines the general public are well acquainted with live, powerful vocals and adlibs and so there’re many strong vocalists and performers in the industry. Which is why ballads and more “showy” songs are quite popular too, because having a strong voice with a lot of depth and emotion, and a strong song to go with it gives a singer opportunity to show off what they can do and give the ultimate wow factor 😆 eg the likes of Morisette Amon, Gary Valenciano, Regine Velasquez, Martin Nievera, Lea Salonga, as well as the fact that karaoke is a big part of the culture so these types of songs cater to that too.
There are some popular artists who have less “belty” voices as such, (or that don’t use this as their main sound) but have great musicality and lyricism, such as Ben&Ben (band) and Moira de la Torre (soloist), which I think shows listeners’ appreciation for storytelling through music too - which I think SB19 delivered in Ikako and MAPA in this video.
Ppop has been rising in popularity over the last few years, so along with the pop influence, the well supported vocals and ballad sounds that are well integrated in the industry and culture make SB19 quite strong in both the upbeat pop songs and the more “classic” ballad areas (I personally don’t know much about other Ppop groups, so I won’t mention how much of this is similar for them).

TILALUHA and HANGANG SA HULI are common Filipino Type of Music you can hear in local radios. That's why I'm so into it because it's very OPM or as we call it ORIGINAL PILIPINO MUSIC.
A year ago I came across SB19 and they saved me from my depression that's why I love them so much!!! The message of their songs hit different and gave you hope and happiness. So thankful I came across them💠💙

I don’t know if general listeners from the Philippines are looking for a specific voice but people from there love ballad songs. Which can be sung by different kinds of vocals. SB19 is a good example of how diverse Filipino vocals.
One feeling that I would like to treasure is the moment I discovered SB19 and how they warmed my heart, giving me goosebumps after goosebumps. You will love them more when you watch their interviews. You would easily conclude they are destined to be together. SB19 has grown individually and as a group. They also found their “sound” and the artistry distinctictly SB19. So glad you found them. Re-watching again what a journey keep on going SB19
One thing i like about the song Mapa is the line “stop crying.” The Filipino (Tagalog) phrase they’re specifically using here is “Tahan na” which is a common phrase a parent/guardian would use when consoling a child. Of course adults can say it among each other too. But I love that they console their parents to sorta say “lt’s okay now.”

Wow! Thank you for having an in-depth reaction on SB19's discography. They are really one-of-a-kind all-rounder group. But I do think you still have no idea how funny and chaotic these boys are. Stell is the main Vocalist with heavenly voice and Ken is Bass with deep voice. Stell sang Lion King 'Circle of Life ' Disney Plus Phils. and All by Myself while Ken watch his MV PALAYO, Straydogg etc.
I myself discovered the boys in Oct 2022 and it keeps revving up....Btw, both Pablo and Ken did solo releases songs (Ken changed to Phillipe when doing solo but he's still with the group) . You should check out Philippe 's "Palayo". They are just so good natured and talented. They all aspire to be good entertainers. Also, try checking YT's SB 19 Official channel and their interviews. Thank you so much! This was a treat! Love, love your reaction to their songs. I kept on nodding while watching. I agree with everything that you said. I think what sets SB19 apart from other groups is that every one of these guys posesses a very unique tone quality that when joined together meshes so dang beautifully. They are also very humble, very dedicated and very sincere. Their love for music and their authenticity is just so palpable in ALL of their performances that anyone watching them cannot help but be moved. Do check their all out performances during the ASEAN Korean Round Festival, where they sang and danced live. I am pretty sure you will be amazed. Besides their vocal and dance capabilities, starting from their Pagsibol EP, they are intricately involved in the making of all their products/output. They compose and write most of their songs, co-produce their music, they choreograph most of their dances, they do their own creative direction of their MVs, and they even act (check their many mini-videos and their short film called “Ex-mas”). They are truly multi-talented but still down-to-earth and humble. And their camaraderie is genuine.

I guess they all answered the call to audition to form an "idol" group like the ones they have in South Korea, the K-Pop male and female idol groups, a couple of years ago. So many heeded that call to audition under BT Entertainment, the same management group that handles BTS, Black Pink, etc. These gentlemen made the cut and were put through the ringer of song and dance routines so many times in a day to get it right. Now, they're SB19, but it was a difficult journey to get where they are now, to establish themselves as a PPop group, away from the KPop mold.
I cried in Mapa with you I miss my mom and dad I haven't been home for almost 5 years been working abroad since 2018 I don't listen to Mapa often cause it got me emotional but it's one of my fave song from them, I love that you're loving them

Halfway through your reaction and here I amaking another comment. Hehehe these boys... so yeah three rappers Pablo/Sejun, Ken/Felipe and Josh. The vocals Stell and Justin the maknae. Pablo is group leader. They originally joined an agency in the Phillipines and were trained in the Korean style of training idols. First time in Phillipines. They were part of larger group before debut but some where eliminated for want of a better word. They survived through much adversity nearly giving up but through encouraging each other they persevered. Four years of training before debut. They gave up jobs and some were studying. They were breadwinnerd and being a trainee was so not paying the bills so they nearly gave up. Mapa is my all time fave but Bazinga slays. Do check their individual performances. I recommend Luna from Pablo and Palayo from Ken. Also Bulan. Wow. Bear in mind there's possibly different names for solos. Not sure why. Then there covers oh boy. And here's a first. Ads. They sing OST for ads. Check out Merry munchkin for Dunkin D. Gosh. I rave. Yeah Going Up went viral for the dance but It got them noticed. Do check out their newest release NYEBE. It means SNOW. I love this song not just because of their perfect harmonies but also how Josh sang his part in harmony. He was so underrated but if you listen closely, you can hear his voice. He sounds like Pablo at times but he has the voice that you can distinctly hear it.

i love watching reactions that had this "SPARK" when I listened to their ballad the first time back on their GO UP DAYS. my brother and sister always fight and always had differences and taste when it comes to Music. we are all musically inclined. and funny to share, SB19 is the only group we all became fans of. EVen if we are not in terms, wed still agree to go together in their concerts and make sure we get the VIP even when we dont have money HAHAHAHHAHAH
So so happy you're reacting to them again and that you love their music! May I suggest that you put an overlay over their videos that got blocked (perhaps with your channel's name or with "SB19")? Sony Music is quite notorious for blocking videos on reaction videos; nonetheless, we would still love to see your reactions to their individual tracks. You see, in every live performance, they always add a new flavour (ad lib, new harmonies, change of melody/arrangement, intro/outro/dance break, etc.) to the same song so much that with each performance feels fresh, as if you're listening to a new song/watching a new choreo. This is why we can't get enough of them and we always look forward to their every live performance!
