My parents are deaf, and back in the day there weren't subtitles for everything, so there was very little on TV that held their attention. Mr. Bean, however... I've never seen my dad cry-laugh as hard as watching Mr. Bean. You only need to be human to understand the comedy. Rowan Atkinson is carrying the torch that the likes of Chaplin and others before him lit and passed down, nice to see someone who can be funny without relying on language.
When I was learning BSL, our teacher would put on Mr Bean sketches and have us describe to someone who had their back to the TV what we had just watched. It was great because there wasn't dialogue and explaining the absurdity of it all meant we had to try to find the write vocab to explain 😂
This guy smartly dressed in suit but with a stupid childish act is a unique comedian actor that only he can do. Jim Carrey would look exaggerated with the same method. All Jim Carrey's funny act is usually overacting and it suits him. But this Bean guy looks genuinely stupid or genuinely childlike or whatever, only for him.

Go to your bathroom mirror and try. You'll find that you can switch from silly faces to normal just as quickly as him. Literally as quickly as he can. Possibly quicker. You're young.

Many good and hardworking comedians out there. Sure you can understand that a certain background as a good and intelligent human is required to be so on point while not offensive and disrespectful. Most active and talented people I've seen could never utilize humor the way he and others did/do, no matter how hard they tried. This guy in particular is an obvious master of control on all levels. He knows what he's doing with every muscle and cell of his body. Others do too to an extent but they don't come close afaik, and it's probably because Rowan Atkinson posseses something else too on top of the gift he has. My mom and I misunderstand things or miss bits without having subtitles on and get distracted and annoyed when they aren't available, not deaf just processing issues I presume. We loved watching Mr. Bean because if it was showing in a waiting room especially, or if someone was noisy outside you don't really miss anything.
