Very needed video Kevin. I'm also in my 30s and I feel like a lot of creators giving TH-cam advice are way younger than me, which is okay but hard to relate with as well because our situation is different.
Its never too late to start. though I started playing around with youtube early, it was only 2 years ago, at 57 that I started my music channel. We did have some advantages - my company sponsored. Then i knew a blind musician, and encouraged him to play with us. Then he introduced his friends, and we now have 6 blind musicians in our music group. So I guess that is also part of the appeal . we are currently nearing 500,000 subscribers. I believe you get luckier the harder you work....
i couldn't agree more...as you climb up further along the corporate ladder, the more soul crushing it becomes (and you have zero control of your time), i think at end of day, we like flexibility and freedom in what we do. thanks for video!
Just turned 30 this month! I've been growing multiple channels, streaming, and praying that viewers have higher attention spans for my talking videos. I realized, though, that as you keep making these types of videos, eventually, an audience will surface, and you will see more retention in the long run. Thank you so much for this video! Keeps me inspired to keep going and being patient with the analytics.
Your 30s are a powerful decade for growth. As Nietzsche noted, 'He who has a why to live can bear almost any how.' Embrace your purpose and the wisdom of past experiences. It's not too late-it's your time to redefine and conquer
As someone in their 30’s making content is a double edged sword. On one hand it’s great to get out all the creative stuff and see it be enjoyed but on the other hand I barely have any time for it and when I do I always feel like I’m sacrificing time with loved ones to make the content.
Exactly what I feel esp when I have 3little ones who constantly need me and my help.. though my husband provides a comfortable life for us there is still that in my head of wanting to help out someday.. but with LOs with you, it’s so hard bc u really end up spending time away from them even if you are in the same roof as them. Makes me want to just forget about this whole yt thing 😢
Yeap, you're absolutely right. I spend so much time creating content that I feel bad for not spending time with my family. The way I did this is I just figure out how I can do this the best I can, find time to script on the go, minimise editing (like this video) and really focus on keeping things simple and manageable my own way and time. Sometimes, a simply 30 seconds vertical video uploaded as Shorts/IG/TikTok daily can turn things around too.
Well yea, I am in my 30s, yep I started a TH-cam channel, in my 20s I do something to have fun going out and that, but I'm 30s nah it's boring to do that thing I work out only, make videos on TH-cam have a small business, earning enough to have some joy with my wife and friends and that is and I am a happy man...
@@KevinChee I think you and I would get along very well then. What with my disabilities and your seriousness I think would be good friends. Lol. Also on a serious note, I do love your videos and you put it in such a way that I can understand so do keep up the good work. I’m only 31 until September so I’m a newbie as well to the 30’s club. You probably are older than me, but you don’t look it.
32 over here! I wish I'd started my channel when I was 18, it's difficult when younger creators (who have far more time) succeed quicker than you do. But I'm pleased with my channel growth overall, just gotta keep up the grind and do what I can.
That's when TH-cam first started as far as I remember. It was lame back then so I can understand why many did not do it. But no point regretting, what matters is what we do now.
Wow, I can so relate to your point of doing what we are doing for our kids. It made me smile when you mentioned that they don’t want to listen to us one day… 20 years for them not to want to listen to us is very idealistic… haha Anyways, to me, age is just a number as different ppl go through different phrases differently but I agree with you that as we get older, there are more commitments and more things to consider. Thanks for sharing!
My main reason of starting my TH-cam channel was to document the hard work I put in. Kids these days, unfortunately, sees having a TH-cam channel with x amount of subs as a huge deal. If I can get a silver plate, I can at least show the kids how much work and effort it takes to get it (and it isn't an overnight success like most channels claim). They know I work a lot on my channel and they can see the journey themselves, even though they aren't putting in the work, but at least I can be a good role model for them
50's just made youtube partner now what. I listen to the younger creators because I am lost as my channel grows. I remember when you had 200 subs. I can help you with getting a home if you want to learn a new skill. buy a fixer up home for cash make sure you have buy a small home 1000 - 1200 sqf.
Interesting take I live in th US. I’m thinking why don’t someone just go to school and get a good profession like a nurse or something. That way your get paid enough not to need a second job ..and you have job security with a union so a company just can’t get rid of you if your getting too old.
kevin help me out here, i want to grow my channel but i feel like posting only once a week will take me a very long time, ive been posting 3 times a week sometimes once a week but i cant decide. i know posting more often will grow my channel faster and more chances of getting discovered but its harder, after a year i can choose to either have 52 videos or 100+. You got any advise?
once a week works for me for my hectic schedule. If you have the capacity, do more a week, just make sure you are not sacrificing quality over quantity. It doesn't have to be super well edited but it does need to be at some level. You'll find out what that level is after posting more and evaluating the outcome.
It is an asset so the way I see it, if you buy and hold for 10 years, it'll still go up in price. You gotta do your homework though and balance between good location and affordability.
I have a question, please tell if I live in another country and select the other in yt settings just for some reason, can I get monetization, please must tell I'm waiting

Yeah, the young ones have so much time on hand that they can freely try out stuff with less risk. I have too much risk at hand at my stage in life
