No, TFS is largely to blame. Before that stupid shit existed, Dragon Ball fans were not nearly as toxic. Back in the '90s and early '00, you could be a Yamcha fan and not get any disrespect. Before TFS, Yamcha's death was taken very seriously in both the show and its fandom, and he was regarded as having made a noble sacrifice in place of Krillin. So, yes, TFS is the biggest reason why Yamcha gets no respect and no justice anymore. To a lesser extent, Akira's lazy writing is to blame too, but really, only after the Frieza saga. That's when DBZ went down hill.

If Oda wrote DBZ Yamcha and Chaotsu would have awesome moments. If Toriyama wrote One Piece, only Devil Fruit users would matter. Eventually Sanji and Zoro would be replaced on the team by Sabo and Ace. ( Ace would be brought back. Sanji would be given the Yamcha treatment and Usopp would go bacl home and retire from adventure.

Some of the paragraph structure makes it a little hard to tell who’s speaking at times, and some characters talking with a lot of swears and slang terminology is a little distracting and feels out of character, but everything else more than makes up for it. I love that every character has their own strengths and weaknesses, I love the tweaks you made to the power system, I especially love that armor matters now, ‘cause it really bothered me that they’d go to all the trouble of making and wearing battle suits that do nothing. You’ve got some talent.

Poor Yamucha. He was quickly outclassed by Goku by their second fight, was demoted to being the martial artist encyclopedia, and when that ran its course by the 2nd Tenkaichi Budokai, he just became fodder for the villains until that, too, was too good for him. Didn't even get a girl unlike Kuririn. Couldn't even become a jobber like Tenshinhan nor a super baseball player. I'm honestly surprised he appeared in Super at all and didn't become like Lunch.

Yamcha and Chiaotzu. Two great characters. Fucked over in Z thanks to a cancerous horde of fans and shit writing. I was hoping that Super would give them some shine time, but of course no. chiaotzu was a lesser character but I liked him talking crap to krillin Z was doomed from the start because of Powerlevels. He and Tienshinhan will ALWAYS be two of the best Dragon Ball characters. Yamcha needs to do something epic in Super but we all know they won't let him. So far Super has been a huge disappointment especially the battle with Gold Frieza. Original Dragon Ball will always be the best imo.

@@kylefields3951 I’ve read a fair few chapters of it after your suggestion, it’s pretty great. Some of the paragraph structure makes it a little hard to tell who’s speaking at times, and some characters talking with a lot of swears and slang terminology is a little distracting and feels out of character, but everything else more than makes up for it.
I love that every character has their own strengths and weaknesses, I love the tweaks you made to the power system, I especially love that armor matters now, ‘cause it really bothered me that they’d go to all the trouble of making and wearing battle suits that do nothing. You’ve got some talent.

Poor Yamucha. He was quickly outclassed by Goku by their second fight, was demoted to being the martial artist encyclopedia, and when that ran its course by the 2nd Tenkaichi Budokai, he just became fodder for the villains until that, too, was too good for him. Didn't even get a girl unlike Kuririn. Couldn't even become a jobber like Tenshinhan nor a super baseball player. I'm honestly surprised he appeared in Super at all and didn't become like Lunch.
Have you see the Bulma ending credits to DBS? Bulma had pictures of everyone else except Yamcha. Despite the fact he dated her on and off for years. It's like DBS creators are trying to erase him from canon...
