Great video - I'm putting together a compact kit for gigging, and I think that hihat stand is just what I need to finish off the hardware for it. Thanks for the comprehensive review! PS - that old camco pedal is awesome
Thanks for the feedback Jake! This is some great hardware … yea I think it’s the Tama Camco chain drive, but I do have an old Camco strap drive like the old Gretsch Floating Action pedal too! I haven’t watch this video in a while! 😂😁🤘🏻🙏🏻👍🏻
johnsondrummer .... Michael I actually did the talking unboxing video ... but I thought it my be nicer with me talking about my kit concept, the stands, and actually watching me playing the kit with the hardware! I actually only did two takes of this song for this video. I’m releasing another version on this song before I got the stands ...someday!
Nice! I have a number of the Ludwig classic stands, and they have been workhorses for me. So light and easy to use. Never knocked them over playing rock. Interested in these new ones.
Rich Raw Dawg drums .... thanks for the feedback Rich! I have two iron cobra pedals and a speed cobra hi hat ... all of my Tama hardware is top notch! I love their hardware!
Love the video and the time-lapse is fun man! Love that cymbal bracket on the bass drum, fits this set up really well! Great video Earl!! Have a great and safe weekend!!
Beautiful drum set!!!Earl you got all the space to put more than 1 drum set. 👍I see on the video that you got another one beside it😀😀 Awesome video. Greetings from Texas my friend. 👋👋
The Masked Drummer .... yes, I have two drum kits in my main room. I have another drum kit in the isolation room. I record I. The main room and both kits are mic’ed up and ready to go! Thanks for watching!
teckendrums ... thank you for watching! I’ve only had them one day but they really are made well! I’m sure I’ll talk more about them in the future! 😀👍🏻🤟🏻🥁
It's the way to go, Earl. I think you only really need those big heavy duty double-braced stands if you're mounting a tom off them, otherwise all you need is a simple stand. These are just great! I use a similar type, but they're from the olden days. They wobble a little, but I don't mind that. It's not like they will ever tip over. Cool review, thanks for sharing. 👍
alan duncan thanks for the feedback! I agree, I don’t need the big stands using this kit for local gigs in town. If I ever get the big arena gig 😳 then I’ll pull out my drum rack or heavy stands ... which I’ll still use for bigger cymbal setups in the studio!
The snare stand basket will hold a 12” pad … Tama makes a tom stand with a basket that would hold a 10” pad. The cymbal stands I believe are the 7 mm threads like most large stands made in Asia. I hope this helps.
I think it's cool that you're trying to get back to a classic look and feel for your own reasons, but personally, I think the older stands are too wobbly and not sturdy enough for me...they are better for weight, but I like hardware that is strong and very sturdy...I think I have an older stand if you want it...it's probably from the 50's or 60's I would guess...great video!
Michael thank you for watching! I would love to have your older style stand if it works! I’m not selling or throwing away all of my existing hardware, I’m just adding a very cool option to my gigging kit that I use for light acoustic music gigs! I have the big hardware for the big rock gig, but actually I’d rather use backline drums then carry a drum kit with heavy hardware!
Earl Bennett - earldrum if you will email me at Mikekperry@msn.com I will send some pics of the stand...you probably won’t want it...it’s in rough shape
Thanks for the feedback and question. I have an Istanbul cymbal with a smaller hole that does fit on the classic hardware stand, but not on some of my boom stands. But the threading is the same as Tama stand 8mm thread so I am not sure it’s as small a hole as your vintage cymbal.
Hi Earl. I noticed you having headphones on and jamming with an iPad. Are you playing, I don’t know what you call them, ghost tracks that are missing the drum part & if so, what is it called? Thanks
Geeza ... I use these at my church every week ... we rock out no problem for 24” - 20” ride cymbal. I have a gig this weekend at a restaurant/bar with my rock band ... I may post some video of the gig ... it will be this kit and stands!
@@earldrum thanks man, ill look out for it, would appreciate that, looking forward to seeing how they hold up for Rock before I decide to invest in them
Geeza ... I will tell you carrying all my stands and pedals except my seat in a bag weighing 21 pounds makes it work for me. But I’ll talk about it on my next Ask Earl Anything show.

Great video, I was looking for some review of this hardware but I didn't expect to find a great drummer too! The video is super well made too!
Thanks for the feedback and kind words! Thanks for watching Pietro!

Paco Drums .. thank you for watching my friend! Have a great week!
Very nice breakdown on the vintage looking hardware. I use Tama Iron Cobra pedals and hihat stand for gigs and they’ve never let me down.

Great intel buddy!!!!!
Bryan thank you for watching my friend!
Perfecto stands. Jazz hardware classic.
Alejandro thank you for watching ... it’s great hardware!
I’m wondering if this stand will work with practice pads? Do you think a 10” pad would work? 12”?

Earl Bennett - earldrum the stand works but it’s in rough shape...it’s freaking old...couldn’t find a brand name...it might be from the 40’s

Do the cymbal stands take vintage cymbals with the smaller hole?

Yes, I’m playing a big band CD song / book. But my headphones are connected to my studio setup, not the iPad. The iPad runs my Logic Pro X audio.
@@earldrum Thank you

2112 Drums ... thank you 2112! 👍🏻😀
Would you say this is mainly for Jazz players or would they hold up for Rock players?
