In this video Sprinkler Nerd, Andy, and Kevin Battistoni from Hunter Industries discuss why MP Rotators are an option for your irrigation system.
Hunter's MP Rotator is a revolutionary alternative to traditional sprinkler heads and pop-up sprinkler heads that spray the landscape. MP Rotator nozzles feature unique, multi-trajectory rotating streams that deliver water at a steady rate. This slower application rate allows water to gently soak in at rates that soils can absorb. Use the MP Rotator to replace the sprinkler head on any conventional spray head body or pop-up sprinkler for water savings of up to 30%.
Now with two convenient precipitation rate options across the widest radius range available, you can design and manage your irrigation system based on specific landscape needs with the reliability you know and expect from the industry-leading MP Rotator. With more than 10 years of proven performance with Hunter Industries, the MP Rotator is the most trusted high-efficiency nozzle on the market.

I am a big fan of mp rotators and on my recent diy irrigation system that I installed recently, zone 3 had an awful pressure issue and I had remembered that mp rotators are great for low pressure and used them, Hunter did great, I’m thinking of getting an rvan and smashing it, I absolutely hate rvans I will even rant them, hunter this is the best rotary nozzle in the whole irrigation industry and I will never stay away from it

@@Andy_Humphrey a video about the different types of Hunter sprinkler bodies and which one is designed for the MP rotator that uses 40 PSI. I already know now but I made a huge mistake when I upgraded all my nozzles

Great video. Maybe I missed it, but what are the added benefits of adding MPR? More efficient coverage means more of each gallon hits the roots. Anything else? Thanks!

Thanks, Bob! Yes, the distribution uniformity is #1, followed by a slower application rate which helps to reduce runoff. Lastly, the stream style distribution helps prevent wind drift which is very common from traditional spray nozzles (water blowing into the air, and the sidewalks, streets, etc.).

Warm season zoysia grass in PR having 85°-90° average all year, I was told spray rotors like Hunter PGJ would be better to ensure max coverage to avoid drought in this kind of heat, mp rotors being best for cool season and colder temps compared Puerto Rico, please advise.

      That’s an interesting thought.
This is likely due to the rumor that MP Rotators don’t put water down fast enough, however, this is untrue, you just need to run them a lot longer, and often times water windows prevent that for being possible.
regardless of drought, it is always better to have more efficient coverage.
