I can't deny that I've had my Kindle Scribe for almost a year now, and I've yet to even take the stylus out of its loop, so that feature certainly wouldn't be a deal-breaker for me.
My device arrived last Friday. (purchased through your affiliate link of course) I'm really enjoying it so far. Thanks for the unboxing, review, and this video as well.
One thing about any color eink screen is that they actually look much darker and more grey in person than they do on review videos. The colors are also much more muted and more pastel color too. You can never adjust the lighting on a color device to match the experience of a B&W ereader. One other thing is that you can absolutely see the lines of the color filters on the screen. You're putting a couple more layers between your eyes and the text. Its like looking through a screen. I suppose you can ajust to it over time or maybe once you've notice it you'll always notice it and it will drive you batty.🤪 So, I guess I would say buyer beware. If you really feel the need to read color comics then get a good LCD tablet. If you mostly just want to read books then stay with B&W.
I've got mine. This is one of the best ereader I've used. It really good for my use-case: novels, comics. The color was not accurate, but 4096 colors is better than 16 colors, for comics. My only complaint, neo-reader in this device is not as advance as neo-reader in nova 2. In nova 2, I can open up-to 4 books at once.
People have such interesting questions that would never even occur to me even ask. I also appreciate that Boox leans into the eink of it all by making the lack of saturation a selling point - "More fun with mellow colors".
I must be in the minority. I could care less about note-taking or book covers as a Screensaver. Really thinking about picking one up. Having both Kobo, Kindle in one place is appealing. How is neo reader? Is it passable?
Bit of a tangent, but I’d l love to hear how the battery life on the Boox Palma is if you’ve been using it enough. The various reviews I’ve seen have been inconsistent on battery life, but it doesn’t sound like it’s great compared to a larger e-reader
From what I have gathered from watching the reviews, the once with the bad battery life are using the Palma as a Phone (Videos, Instagram, etc.) and the once with the good battery life are using it as an e-reader.
Hi Olly! I really like my ereader in white. I have seen the boox go 7 in white in ads. But I can't find in your link? Is there a possibility? Thanks and Greetings from Hamburg! Tina
An e-shop (the only one listed on geizhals that sells it) stated that they expect it in mid-August and they gave it a €20 mark-up over the black version.
Hi - sorry for the late reply! It doesn't work for that app unfortunately, I think it must be something the app makers need to support so maybe they will add it in the future
I am a university student and I would like to see recorded classes on that boox go color 7 tablet, I can't pay more for a kaleido 3 screen, do you think it is possible to see my classes on this tablet or is it very annoying?

Thanks Mike! Glad you’re enjoying the Boox!

I'm looking forward to the Boox and Kobo comparison.

Who doesn’t love mellow colours!
I'm thinking about this one or the Palma. Most of my books are on Kindle, but I have a bunch on Play Books that I'd like to read on an eink device.
If you primarily reading novels, Palma is the better option. If you are reading graphic novel/comic/manga, boox go color 7 is better.

Yeah Neo Reader is fine, in fact I’ve been using it instead of other reading apps. It’s decently configurable and works well.
@@kyrilson71 i dont care for neo, but i love pocketbook reader. And it syncs with iOS

Hi Tina - I can’t see a white one on their site either. Sometimes the alternate colours take a while to come out
@@CriminOllyBlog Thank you. I hope I can wait...🤭

@@Lightkie Oh, thank you! That 's very nice, sharing this information! I will wait...😊
Thanks for the video 😊 I have just recived mine. When I read books in apps, it wont rotate it, is there a setting where you can do that?
Just tried it with mine and the Kobo app and it worked. If you swipe down from the top to get the control centre up there is a rotate setting there
Thanks for the video, I’m very keen on getting this for shonen jump app. If the buttons are configured to scroll does that work to turn the pages?

Recorded classes as in video? e-paper is a poor choice for seeing video content
Does the text to talk option work in the kindle app?
Not that I can see
@@CriminOllyBlog thank you for looking.
