Rather, they reveal an aspect of God’s personality, showing that he becomes what is needed in each circumstance to fulfill his purpose. So while the name Jehovah may include this idea, it is not limited to what he himself chooses to become. It also includes what he causes to happen with regard to his creation and the accomplishment of his purpose.

Imagine the true God of love, he who loves you unconditionally with compassion and empathy. Now ready the pages of history and see the atrocities this so called god commits against humanity, slavery, blood sacrifice, sex trafficking, he breaks everyone of the "rules" he puts forth and you're told it's because he loves you and you gobble it up. I ask you as a parent could and would you inflict such malicious madness upon them? You know deep in you heart the idea is wrong and that is because you have the true creators love within your heart but you've allowed your brain to believe the stories told to you amd have accepted this false god and sadly you've gotten down on your knees for him. The true father creator does not require you on your knees nor does he require you to prove your devotion. Look around you at the world today and I ask why hasn't he come to purge the wickedness?

I may be wrong, but I have the impression that what we hear in English is not that which is actually being spoken.
Please note, I am not suggesting that there is any essential change in significance between the spoken text and that we can only vaguely discern in the background. But it is very disconcerting. I would far have preferred subtitles.
@@xotan yes. I believe there is an Italian translator who listens to the recording, then speaks the English words on another audio track.
For me, being able to hear the English is such a treat due to vision difficulties. On the other hand, for you who prefers subtitles, I would look through Mauro's extensive playlist. He probably already has a presentation in Italian on the same subject, possibly even more detailed, where you could read the subtitles.
I would be interested, if you were to watch one, how you liked the experience.

I find it very revealing that YHWY refused to give his name since its a characteristic of malevolent entities.

Hello dear Mauro and Paul. In Russian Orthodox church's translation we have the same situation in the Book of Judges with Iakov and angel, but angel answered: "Why are you asking for my name? My name is strange/unusual" (from פֶּלְאִי). So the same dialog as between Moses and Yahweh, but angel gives more explanations
interesting I have to read how they translate it in our Bibles in my language but I rather associate that as Mauro notes.... this figure seems to be identical to the Olympian Deus... haven't you thought about that?

Can't say I've heard of "the eternal" in english translations, but it's interesting that it's a convention in the italian ones.
These scholars are blowing my mind. I could never believe the Bible as it was taught but now, at 70 years old, I’m hearing explanations that make sense. What is surprising is I realize how deeply the monotheistic teachings, which I rejected, have penetrated my thinking and underpinned my life view. I want to know more.

In the King Tutt show that came to Los Angeles, there was a little statue of a tall house, with a platform with footprints…there was no human statue. It was dedicated to the unknown invisible god.

I first discovered this concept of parallel cosmogonies and religious themes through the work of Mircea Eliade, and consider his book "The Sacred and the Profane" to be an indispensable part of my religious library.
Not to be overlooked in your analysis of ancient Hebrew texts is the use of couplets or chiasms. For instance, in the Book of Job, chapter 11, verses 5 & 6, we learn that the wisdom of God is "double" that which is; and in Psalm 62, verse 11 we ascertain that "God has spoken once, but twice have I heard it." These may help explain why the God of the Hebrews distinguishes himself from the other gods, and why so many narratives show him giving multiple answers to simple questions, and separate accounts of the same historic event.

Dear Mauro and Paul, I have for a long time realised that the Elohim in the Bible was not the true God! Prime Creator is a Consciousness, a divine substance, not even a spiritual entity, it is only felt as a divine presence and has no form. The translators of the Christian Bible does not convey this. Paul comes close to revealing Prime Creator to us when he says, our bodies are God's temple. We can only experience him if we enter our heart space. It has been revealed that we carry the God-gene in our DNA, 90 percent of which is spiritual. That is why Jesus told the temple goers who wanted to stone him, "you are also god's". Yes we are evolving, and when we we.are finally changed as Paul says, " in a twinkling of an eye", we will be given the chance to evolve or transmute into God, yes we are destined to become as Jesus said, " Father let them be one as we are one"! That is our ultimate destiny. Yes I'm afraid the church has distorted the Bible or let's say the Annunaki or Elohim have. Why? It was all about control and of course jealousy! As an ex JW who only knew ‘God’ as Jehovah (Yahweh) I have been searching for a couple of decades just WHO this god was because it was presented so intensely as the Only God to worship, which I felt was wrong intuitively. I wish I understood Italian because he has so much to say. It would be nice to be able to use his ‘concordance’ to research deeper, I haven’t been able to discover this. Paul your explanations and books have helped me to ‘reprogram’ in so many ways….. we have been sold a bill of religious goods aka brainwashing that the truth as it is discovered is so refreshing. It’s important not to throw out the baby with the bath water so to speak and I’m still searching for more connection with ‘source’ and authentic spirituality. There are so many dogmatic traps that appeal to our search for absolute ‘truth’. Thank you again!

Your teaching on the subject of Elohim essentially being a "class" of beings fits almost identically to my own understanding gained in my personal studies over the years. I grew up in Israel and learned biblical Hebrew from an early age and when I decided as an adult to delve into studying the Bible in Hebrew on my own, I arrived at the same conclusion on the true meaning of the terms Elohim, El, Eloyon, Eloah etc. I'd like to know, do you have any plans to address the class known as "Malachim"? I have my own opinions but I'm very interested in hearing your views on the relationship between Yhwh and the character in the Tanach that appears many times "as though" he were Yhwh himself (i.e. the Malach Yhwh). El is a title. Enlil is a name. Enlil is also Saturn and Kronos in Greek and Roman systems, so he’s actually seen as benevolent. The Gods only become malevolent when society becomes wicked.
