      I was undecided over Simagic Alpha or VRS for so many weeks now. The extra 10% affiliate link made the VRS value proposition too good. Just pulled the trigger on VRS base and pedal set. Massive upgrade from G27 I've had for 10 years! Thanks for all your amazing reviews and content Will and Tom

    Hey, Will & Tom! I was one of the people who bought a VRS base after your initial review about 2 years ago and I couldn't have been happier. It was better than I expected (which was alot) and the constant updates by VRS to the software has only solidified that it was the right decision. I just wanted to say thanks for making the content and to keep it up!

    This review video sent me down the rabbit hole (again) for which DD wheel to buy (as my first). Thank you. I was looking at the Simagic Alpha and then the Moza R12, but I don't want to upgrade again if I can help it, and this appears to be worth saving a little longer to purchase. Also, product support and community are very important to me. Your reviews are the gold standard that I come back to for final decisions. Thanks again for your massive contribution to the sim racing community. FWIW, I stumbled across your Miata headlamp (front end) rewiring video the other day too, working on my NB1 wiring :-D Who knew.

    I have had the VRS DFP for a year and I could't be happier. It is just strong and smooth and you don't have to worry too much about setting it up. It works great straight out of the box!! I use it combined with the simracing coach QR, a simracingbay competition v2 rim and a Innato GT30 panel. Very good experience!!!!

    I've had the VRS DFP since shortly after your initial video and have been very happy with the build quality and the FFB. My only criticism had been that the software updates were hidden on a page that had no link to it. I see VRS have rectified the issue by redoing their website. I had great customer service from them through email too. Thanks for explaining and sharing your settings, Will! They are way better than mine! 😋

    I sold dd1 and bought vrs, in fanatec I was constantly changing something in the settings, but there was still something wrong. Vrs without any changes in the settings immediately felt natural in Iracing and Richard burns rally. In Acc fanatec was better but I did not play with the settings in vrs. The only minus vrs is that in some titles such as rfactor2 you have to change the ini file. But it's worth it. Great review!

    Great idea to revisit these products. The fanatec video was great last week. I do find I base purchase decisions based on these videos and when the original video wasn’t 100% positive it very easy to rule it out.

    • @slaphead90
      @slaphead90 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with you, however I fear that the only reason a lot of simfluencers are doing "is it worth it in 2023" content is that there's absolutely nothing else to do. Since the ADAC sim expo there's been nothing happening in the sim racing area.

    • @SiskoMilo

      Dont. Never trust TH-cam reviews. I don't want to point out who and how but just know that there is tons of scam behind 99% of all YT reviews. Who do you trust then? Watch the ones who actually tear down the product and show you how is it made without their comment. Nothing else.

    In the last 6 months I’ve gone from the g29 to a t300 to a Simagic Mini to the VRS base. I thought it was just going to be another stepping stone for me and that I’d be wanting more and end up with the Simucube Pro 2. I can genuinely say I have no desire for the Simucube and this has ticked all the boxes that was lacking in the previous wheels. It is powerful, detailed and smooth. I was actually surprised with just how smooth. I’ll be happy with this for a long time.

    Great update Will. Thanks! I got this base last year after giving up waiting for the elusive QR2. It’s fantastic. So powerful. So smooth. And rock solid with Xero play QR. I messed up though, and did not use the static force reduction filter and I also played much much longer hours because it was so fun! But the overuse strain caused some soft tissue damage to the wrist from ramping up the FFB without building up the muscle strength first. So be careful, take it easy and ramp up the strength/duration slowly. This is not a toy.

    • @ziljanvega3879
      @ziljanvega3879 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrJaffa78 I primarily race the Lotus 49, so I kept my simple old 270mm Fanatec round wheel for immersion. The Torque was pretty high on it though (effectively about 26Nm compared to a 350mm wheel). So I went to the other extreme and ordered a more ergonomic MOMO Montecarlo and Turn R305 in order to avoid future injury. If I’d had them to begin with, I’d be in much better shape I’m sure.

      I run a SAAS flat bottom 13" (325mm) wheel and it feels really good, makes the whole rig feel industrial strength. I run an 80mm shaft extension and an NRG innovations quick release. I used Thrustmaster and Logitech for over a decade. When the opportunity to upgrade came it was well worth the investment. Having never tried a DD wheel, I wonder about the Inertia setting. Like should that not come from the physics? On the face of it it sounds like a spring or drift setting on the old Fanatec wheels. Also, I understand ACC or iRacing make sense for comparison due to player numbers making it relevant to the most users. But for outright testing of differences in FFB, why not use rFactor 2? Even if you don't like the game itself, it is the benchmark in FFB much like the Simucube 2 is the benchmark in DD wheels.

    I am so glad i got this base... it was difficult but i saved so much cash getting my own gear and putting together my own wheels etc etc... you just gotta know where to look and its not always name brands. This wont be for everybody but for do it your self kinda folks it saved me on cash but i did not sacrafice quality. This wheel base is close to bulletprouf honestly compared to other brands with issues or have not bin tested form many years yet like OSW bases. However to most i reccomend something more plug and play with a simple ecosystem especially new folks to sim racing. I hope i don't sound crass just trying to keep it real. VRS doesnt hold your hand when it comes to good sim setups or good setups in general. honestly people like boosted media and Dan Sazuki give you better setup advice in one video with a few off hand tips lol. could just be me i like straight forward info not suck wholing on discord maze lol. good people but its most iracing centric. Howerver i love the filters in the software and everthing about the build quality of the VRS base it feels heavenly.

    Very nice! I’ve got an R9 right now and this review will help in the future whether I want to upgrade or not. I’m still thinking of either upgrading to this, simagic ecosystem or continue with moza. But out of these options, simagic is the one that is easily reachable as for moza I will either have to ship it from their store or overpay where I live, and VRS I would also need to ship here, while simagic they have an official distributor here.
