- In the last 3 years we have seen several Chinese ride manufacturers attempt to break into the western market. This supercut video will showcase the main players in this area, Jinma Rides, Noble Rides, and SBL. All of these manufacturers have recently shown off their products at the IAAPA expo in Orlando, with varying levels of success.

Jinma Rides “continue to grow and be a threat to western ride developers all while being constantly accused of intellectual property theft.” When you don’t have to spend your money on R&D or worry about having original ideas, you put all of your money into construction and expansion.
It's worth noting that the newest and most up to date concept art and site plans of the new Missouri park no longer feature any Jinma coasters, but instead features two off-the-shelf Vekomas, a family boomerang and family suspended coaster. It seems that Jinma's American debut may have to wait a little longer.

i managed to ride a jinma coaster, and it was very smooth. i think jinma has a bright future, and i hope more parks purchase their rides.

I wonder if they even contacted the place in Ohio that manufacturers B&M track to try and steal the manufacturing process.

I remember getting a youtube ad from Jinma (Golden horse) at the time. Bizarre to see them advertise their rides on a socialmedia platform.
Despite what google seems to think, the chance of me buying an entire amusement park ride is bigger than the combined chance of me buying any of these:
Event tickets, loans, gendered hygiene products, makeup, yearly franchises, diapers, candy, fast food, soft drinks, booze, anything with yelling or sirens in the ad, anything excessively loud, the latest flagship product, or going to a mechanic in a different country
I’m actually quite interested in the Chinese ride market. It’s fascinating to see how another country operates and how they got the ideas of attempting to break into the West in the first place.
No matter how appealing the attractions may seem to parks in the west, I still genuinely hope Jinma never makes a presence, with them shamelessly and blatantly trying to steal ideas from B&M at IAAPA even in 2023, they really have not changed their ways at all and should be shown no respect whatsoever for doing so. They are a stain on the industry and are really proving that they will never be willing to change their old ways.

It's nice to see someone start by copying, but realize that making their own stuff is the better way forward. And I agree with you, better to have your stuff known to everyone, but just make the best version of that possible, and continually try to improve it to keep your usual customers coming back instead of just resting on your laurels
Honestly if Jinma innovated more and didn't copy others, I think they'd do well outside of China

The people in the comments going "I would _never_ ride a roller coaster made in China" confuse me. I don't want to call it xenophobia but it's at least the "made in China" meme being overplayed (+ culture war nonsense)
If you're going to a theme park in the US or Europe, all their rides - Chinese or otherwise - are going to be vetted, inspected, and maintained by the same people whom you (hopefully) already trust to keep your theme park experience safe
(it would probably also surprise some of these people to learn how many engineers/designers at B&M, Intamin, etc. are Chinese nationals with degrees from Chinese engineering schools)
If you think reservations are down to culture war matters, I'm sorry. I think it's quite a bit more complex than the 'stop noticing things chud' meme. Our own rides are sometimes not inspected, so would I have high hopes from rides coming from a location where unfortunately corruption is commonplace?
@@MechaNintendoMast but the manufacturers are not who do the inspections. So, I'm not sure what point you are trying to make here. As long as the ride meets all the safety standards and passes the initial inspection, I don't know why you would boycott it simply because it's from China.
@@rextyj This is old and I wasn't gonna bother but no, reports of issues get censored so you have no long term reports of anything you get. That is a problem even if something can pass an 'initial' as you stated test. My point stands.

did a great job covering stolen IP that they used to undercut western markets, like every other product china rips off then resells as better but with no quality. anyways thanks for keeping it true. 😁😁

I thought about a number of broad concept things as I watched this video, which, for me, is a flashpoint of current US-China relations. First, the Chinese ride manufacturing industry could help China pull out of its economic slump, by both exporting this product to other countries as well as collaborative work with other country ride manufacturers, when their knowledge is combined. Imagine the possibilities!
Secondly, I could foresee an improvement in our currently somewhat strained relations with China, if both countries could work together, on producing enjoyable rides for everyone.
Thirdly, perhaps China would see the benefits of capitalism from such joint ventures, and gradually shift their political structure from its rigid Communist state, benefitting everyone.
Another advantage of such joint ventures might help thaw current Cold War-like relations between the two countries, fostering more of a beneficial relationship to all mankind.
Personally, I would very much like to see the US import more foreign amusement rides to give a shot in the arm to our somewhat ordinary domestic US amusement ride industry. I’ve expressed a desire on other You Tube channels for the U.S. to obtain other European rides not currently available here stateside.
An overarching tenet of such collaboration would have to be ride safety, first and foremost. With both this and friendly collaborative work between countries, I feel this could be a win-win situation for all countries involved.

I'll stick to the Vekoma, Intamin, B&M, Zamperla, Mack, and other European and American manufactured coasters. Not sure how much I trust Chinese coasters, no matter how cool they may look.
If they are in Europe or North America, they will still be held to the same standards as the other companies

My comment was mostly directed at Americans who will go on American made carnival flat rides with pre-slowing allowed, operators knowingly hiding damage from inspectors (ie set up the ride overnight as the inspector sleeps), and more focus on up time because ticketed rides (ie safety jumpered out so ride can operate). Anyone in America who refuses to go on chineese rides is being, let's just say selective.
@@urbex_coastersCarnivals have nothing to do with this. Many Americans are wary of those, too. But the American theme park industry is the largest, and perhaps the safest in the world.
To anyone commenting that you wouldn't go on Chineese rides, I'll just say I trust the Chineese a lot more than I trust traveling flat rides. Jinma I trust without question, I even think their dive coasters are likely better than B&M's. As for their Chineese compeditors, it's up in the air but I trust their permenant rides a lot more than "we do pre-slowing when people will be on the rides/we will construct rides overnight to hide innerworkings from inspectors/our rides aren't bolted to a foundation designed to handle their weight" setup of traveling carnivals in the US. Don't prove the racism point the BSL guys were making with such sentiment.

Or maybe it's because of the rampant design/IP theft that there are no laws against in China?
Or how about a very real lack of regulation when it comes to quality control and consumer rights?
There are a plethora of reasons to not trust a Chinese corporate entity that aren't racially motivated.
I suggest you look into what's going on with China more, straight from the source of actual Chinese people.
my honest thoughts are that I feel like we see western companies copy all the time so I don't really care that they copy sometimes

I hope we don’t ever see China rides and coasters in the USA I don’t trust them at all and I don’t think much is anything will change that I’ll stick to the more reliable higher quality and way more trusted, and not stealing, or at least so obviously stealing other ideas ideas, like all the other ride and coasters manufacturers based in more trusted continues
Jinma meets the same standards as companies like B&M, Intamin, RMC, Vekoma, Gerslauer, and others. No reason to boycott their rides. I'd certainly rather go on something from Jinma than a traveling flat ride in America apon hearing the stories about carnivals Ryan the Ride Mechanic shared, to put it mildly.

@@Kaimax61Manufacturers in the USA do make safe and high quality rides. This channel has never said anything different.
@maddox121 Jinma sells their rides to the west out of Switzerland, just like Intamin and B&M. No reason to think they can't sell to the west.
@@urbex_coasters I just don't trust them, B&M sticks to Switzerland, or USA or places and countries I trust while noble uses China and I don't trust anything they make, plus in my opinion all the proper more currently known manufactures make better rides, and coasters all without copying and stealing from others or at least not doing it so publicly obviously like Jima have, so Ill trust current ones more
