      @@EightMilesHigh1966 Right! He'll end up being on a hockey trivia question someday. In the 2022 draft this player was selected 29th overall by the Arizona Coyotes. He played over a 1000 games during his HOF career but is best known for his mom slipping the tongue to his dad after his selection. Who is this HOF player?

    Bill Armstrong was a great scout for the Blues with so many 2nd and 3rd round gems he found.
    I got the feeling that this draft, with all the extra 'Yotes picks, could be a windfall for Arizona. So many extra 2nd and 3rd round pics, and the right man at the helm to make the best of it. (Then turned some into 1st round picks)
    Scout Bill Armstrong was great for the Blues.
    This is Arizona GM Bill Armstrong's chance to shine!
    I predict a much better team in the desert (or wherever they are) in 5 years.

      The fact that GMBA came in and cleaned house, in terms of our whole scouting department, made this rebuild digestible.

      @@996TheHowl All the guys he brought have amazing resumes. Which like you said, eased my nerves again. I don't think I would have been able to handle trading away the farm to get a bunch of picks that would have been wasted by the guys that were there before.

    When looking at past drafts, there are not actually too many players from a single team that gets to NHL, much less have a long career. Usually, it's 3-5 players depending on how many picks the team made. If a team made, like Chicago, 3 picks in 1st round and had 11 picks overall then they might have more players get to NHL, but if it's like Colorado with 2 picks overall then neither of them might ever get to the NHL level.

    • @rbrucerye
      @rbrucerye 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's usually no more than 2 players who become nhl regulars. Sometimes a team will get a few more players that have short nhl stays but aren't able to establish themselves in the league.

    • @Razgriz8192
      @Razgriz8192 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Minnesota has what is currently unanimously considered to be the best goaltending prospect in the world in Jesper Wallstedt who they traded up to get in the 1st round in the 2021 draft.
      He's signed, and will be making his North American debut in the AHL next season. But has been playing against men in the Swedish league since he was 17. He's 20 now.
      This kid is expected to be an NHL starter at a minimum. That's just his floor. His ceiling is franchise level. Then consider his expected wait time is 2-3 years out. The long-term solution is already in the system.
