    I’m from Beijing but now doing my PhD in the uk. I didn’t even know most of the coffee shops you went to. Will definitely visit them once I’m on my annual leave to Beijing. Thanks for sharing Nico. Your Beijing videos make me feel very proud to be a Beijinger.

      Aww thanks! I love living here and these places are great. Also Alba cafe I missed it out as I was going to make another video about brunches but I never got round to it and really that is my favourite coffee shop by far. Where are you in the UK?

      Nico I’ve been in Liverpool for 4 years. It’s absolutely my second home and I have a bunch of great friends here as well. But once I hand in my thesis, I’ll probably go back to Beijing to get a job. It’s amazing to see my home town from a different perspective. Are you two still in Beijing now? I also watched your other videos and you mentioned you live in Nanjing.

    • @Nicofilms
      @Nicofilms  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aw thanks that's so kind! Actually we are not but we did get our current jobs through making these videos. My partner is a full time video editor which is why they look so slick it really depends on the type of video we make as we also spend a lot of time pre planning. If its a smaller film like this then maybe a couple of days to edit, if its one of our city guides then a lot longer. This is why we can only put content out every few weeks haha. I am also a kids TV presenter for an English language school which has helped with my presentation of the films, some of the first we did I wasn't very good haha

    The Cat Cafe is my fave, since i have 7 furry cat children. There is now a Cat Coffee Shop in San Francisco too. It was started by those 2 Canadian guys from Montreal.....i don’t know if the one in Bejing is one of their Franchises, as the one in San Francisco. Before i saw your videos about how it is to live in Bejing i would have never thought about it. I only lived in Hong Kong & Shang Hai.......but now after having watched most of your videos i am really considering to move to Beijing. I am tired of living in the US, California and the SF Bay Area are nice but the street violence is at an all time high & yes in 2008 i became myself the victim of an attempted murder, got stabbed 4 times into my abdomen. If there were at least already international flights to China than a move would be still possible this summer. But as It looks it will be august / October until the first flights to china will leave from SFO

    • @Nicofilms
      @Nicofilms  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are loads of cat cafes here in Beijing so you will be in your element, I just showed one. I'm really sorry to hear that, China is one of the safest countries I've been too. Walking around on my own even in the evening I never feel unsafe.

      Yes I totally agree with you! Actually, our plan was to put Alba in a 'best brunches' video with some others but we haven't got round to making it yet. • @Nicofilms

      It is very possible, after all the average monthly salary in Beijing is little under 2K usd. But you won’t be able to rent a studio or one bedroom, you’d have to find roommates(yes, more than 1 roommate) and live little bit far, but yeah, you’ll totally get by with 1k, provided you don’t eat western food often.
