O man. Amsterdam has such a beautiful architecture . Both intimate and monumental. You really, really give an inside of the atmosphere over there. Easy but making curious.
Playing football in the square still lives on haha. At 9:53 the Bulldog bar ! Crossing the street to your left sinde and back the alley you went to the Hard Rock Cafe , they got a guitar from Eddie Van Halen in there.
You poor saddo, keep your personal, financial problems to yourself. Instead of staying in bed cuddling your throbbing member get off your a** and get a job. This time next week you could be flipping burgers at 'MaccyDs'', yeh you might go home smelling of grease, but you could also have regained your self-respect, have got a free meal and had you national insurance paid, then, the hi-point of the week, you & your boyfriend can get high. Think on loser
9:50 You were in the Leidesplein neighborhood. I always stay at the stay ok next to vondelpark which is just around the corner from there. Beautiful city wish was open to U.S.
That "interesting part of town" at 9:45 is Leidseplein. surprised you haven't seen it before since some of the major tramlines passed through there. Pretty touristy area. There is a FEBO and a Wok to Walk just north of there on Leidsestraat. To experience a night and day difference walk a block or two west of that area until you reach the Leidsegracht. rather peaceful and some absolutely beautiful homes along that canal.
Stroop = syrup. The stroop waffles actually taste really good. they have syrup filling between two thin layers of waffle. You got a Belgian waffle, Gabriel. :)
Fun how you walked 300 meters away from where I work, while I had been enjoying your video's of Greece so much. And now you're so closeby. The world is small!
@4:11 Wow, did not expect to see a Left Hand Brewing Co. sticker in Amsterdam. It's a pretty obscure microbrewery near where I live in Colorado that makes amazing beer.
Hi, thanks for another great video. Lots to see. I wonder if the Mellow Yellow coffee shop has a connection with the Donovan song? The guy in the little boat cracks me up. Thanks again.
Gabe, you need to cross the Magere Brug (The Skinny Bridge) over the Amstel, your trip is incomplete if you miss it. In one of the James Bond movies they have a chase scene near it.
You've reminded me just how wonderful Amsterdam is so I checked some flights. I can fly from my home city of Norwich for just £110 return! I'm literally just across the water in Eastern England with a flight time of 40 mins, so this will be a cheap, quick and easy adventure.
I love stroopwafles! My dutch neighbor introduced them to me, in crete, Greece. We ate them with tea. When the water was boiling hot, you placed the waffle on top of your tea cup to let it soften up with the steam. Then, it became nice and soft, and perfect to eat!
hey btw Gabriel, the school thing of the mellow yellow story is bs, it is an hairdresser sort of professional studio school and somehow by some weird legal thing the city council closed the coffee shop, even though no kid goes to that school but adults.
Two thumbs up buddy 👍👍 It shows how passionate you are with your travels. I m new to your channel and went looking for your book, but realized I didn’t know your full name. I’ll keep looking for it on future videos and hope your book is still available....
Did you get to see the Rembrandt House? A must see. Good to see you made it to the Leidseplein area @9:55 in the vid. Great vids of my favorite city in the world. Be careful filming in the RLD as it is frowned upon.
Weve been twice coming from a tiny village in remote West Australia itblew us away. Especially driving. Or walking the crowded pavements. Spacecake helped. We did not know how to use public transport . Second visit we stayed out of town on a dairy farm and used bikes and buses and train. Wow .
What a cute floaty boaty thing! Dam square at the royal palace is so fun in nice weather when the buskers are all out and it's packed full of festive cool people. They had some funny and really interesting clowns, mimes, and techno trance dancing and other different acts going on. And it's just a short train ride to get out to where you windmills and tons of bike paths. It was so beautiful in sunny warm Spring 2011.
I think for tourists Amsterdam is the best on a sunny warm day. You can do a lot of things like cycling along the beautiful canals. However typical Dutch rainy weather has its own charm.
Welcome back to Amsterdam :) Another nice film of this great city, enjoy your trip. I'm actually just about to go and film the Amsterdam Cat Museum House, yeah crazy or what. Never seen the houseboat museum, so nice insight. Have a fun trip.
You should have visited Deco Sauna, beautiful place inside and a magical place to spend 2/3 hours. Just be aware that it is all nude inside whilst using the saunas and steam rooms and also the changing room is also unisex as are all the facilties! Takes a bit getting used to as you can imagine!
TIP! If you would like to discover the culture through delisious food there is also a free food tour in Amsterdam that is tip based every morning from 10:30 am from Dam Square.👍
I didn't know anything about him. That was just pure luck. I was trying to figure out where the music was coming from and then realized it was coming from the canal.
I'm Dutch, You can better buying Stroopwaffels in a real Food store ! There the much cheaper and Fresher. Go to the Albert Heyn ( AH ) Food Store behind the Palace on the Dam
The Stroopwaffles are great with morning coffee! Especially the silver dollar size. I lived in Belgium for a few years and would ride my bike to the Albert Heijn store just over the border a few kilometers. And of course have a Belgian beer in the afternoon. Best of both worlds!!
Amsterdam looks empty in this video , but in spring ,summer, autumn it is super crowded, lots and lots of tourists from all over the world , i go there regularly but i live in another part of the Netherlands .
There are lots of videos on youtube showing the inside of various Amsterdam coffee shops. Cannabis museum looks rad! I think a great video would show Big Gabe getting a pre-roll of Amsterdam's finest and doing a strain review. Better yet, imagine the global war on drugs ending NOW! Being from Northern California gives Gabriel a unique perspective on Cannabis culture. Californians are not strangers to the most beautiful buds ever! Good stuff Gabriel and thanks for all that you do!
i wish you let you know Gabriel that most of that high quality cannabis comes from Manali, Himachal Pradesh India. A lot of dutch guys hand around to procure the stuff from hill tribe growers at dirt cheap prices and then 'export' it back to The Nederlands where it is sold a huge profits. It is known as Manala cream
Coming to Amsterdam in April on my own for the first time, how ever I have been afew times before. Tho would you give me any advice as I'm going on my own?
Gabriel, be careful with filming in Red Light District! When I was there, a lady came out from her window and run after me, throwing with her shoes on me! 😉😊😎 She said I am not allowed to film in there!
