I don't have an Ikea bed, but I have a bed that uses slats. When the original slats started breaking on me, I took one of the good ones to Home Depot and asked them to cut their strongest wood to the same size and shape. I replaced all the original slats with the ones I got from Home Depot, and I haven't had a problem since.

I would love to see some of your other ideas in the living room or dining room. You are an awesome designer, great ideas, so happy I found you on TH-cam.
IKEA has an unfinished 3 drawer night stand/dresser thing for like $60. I think it's in the RAST series but not sure. It was easy to assemble and I just finished it with two coats of a natural beeswax sealant stuff and got different knobs cuz it comes with basic round wood ones. Has a great japandi vibe and holds a lot and is the perfect height for my bed to serve as a night stand! Highly recommended. Note it is pine which is soft but IMO having real solid wood at such a low price is worth the extra caution to protect it from dents. Plus if it does dent over time it'll just have a distressed rustic look lol
Thank you so much for sharing the dresser- nightstand idea! I was trying to figure out what nightstands I wanted and I think that this is a perfect solution! 💕😬💕
Love your videos! Laundry room hacks would be great. It’s the room that ca get a bit neglected but one that most of us don’t want to spend much cause let’s be real, it’s a laundry room.
I have actually gone out of my way to buy slat beds. I like how easy it is to assemble and to carry up and down the stairs. I also don’t like the look of a bed with a box spring. I like having a thinner looking mattress. I grew up with European slat beds so I may be bias but as a single person, who has lived alone most of my life, picking out furniture that can easily be assembled by yourself is so important to me. I got my slat bed from west elm but I have had ikea ones in the past and never had a problem even with a partner in the bed
The pendant light hack is my favorite from this video. Just genius! I live in an apartment with no overhead lighting in either the living room or bedroom and could not figure how to fix it. I also like the ikea frames with Etsy art idea. Thank you ❤❤❤!,
I never comment on videos but I loved this ❤ I am planning to finally revamp my bedroom but struggling. Love the larger nightstand look but also need a large dresser with atleast 6 drawers. How would you recommend mixing and matching dressers and nightstands? I would love to save by using ikea but wanting it to be cohesive in style. Any suggestions
Dang! I sent a link to my friend who just bought her house thinking she could use some of your tips only to add to my amazon cart for myself! lol. Keep spreading those tips!!!
You have mentioned ideas here that I had incorporated several years back. I bought a ginormous picture with frame at Goodwill 6 years ago for over my sofa and painted right over the original (there was no value to the original). I even used leftover house paint (acrylic) with craft paints. $12 !!! Another idea is to staple a beautiful fabric to the canvas. So yes your idea does work!!! I also have ikea nightstands like yours!!! I LOVE THEM. Even using a bedframe as the base, a basewood that holds my mattress broke. I got a "single" bedframe to fit the "queen" bed - think I paid $56. So yes that idea works miracles!!! If people will implement your ideas their homes will look like a fabulous designer's home for far less. BUT I would never have considered the puck lights hung in various heights - OMG - gonna implement this in my office and bedroom. Sorry for reacting so late, I just checked and learned my notifications were mysteriously turned off.😮 I enjoyed this video.
Hey love the video! I got a question about the art hack hoping you could answer. Is it paramount we get the periodic table one? Another same frame etc got a discount here. Also is it best to paint over it or should I get a different item to paint over andput in the frame? Any tips on the painting part? I like what you did, but it went over this part pretty quick.
Thank you so much for this video. I love watching all your videos question for you I see that you have the Koppang dressers as night tables what do you have as a dresser I did the same thing with the dressers. I bought the larger one as a dresser and the single ones is two tables. Thank you you’re the best.
I have to watch her videos several times in a row to get everything she talks about cuz she talks so fast! It's hard to keep up with her! But I love her ideas.
Can someone explain to me the bed frame hack? If I buy the metal frame from Amazon, I can place it inside of the IKEA bed frame? If I have a queen size bed, do I use the same size metal frame? Do I use one size down?
I guess idk about beds. Ikea beds are only shown with a mattress. Dont you also need a box spring? Or are mattresses now a days good without box springs?
The bed base I shared doubles as a box spring! A lot of people don’t use box springs anymore because of adjustable bases but they are still useful in many situations.
I just can't get behind the recommendation for the cheaper bed frames. I've had an Ikea bed frame for many years and at this point it's so squeaky that just turning in bed makes a lot of noise (and yes, I have tried all the things to try and reduce the squeak). When we finally upgrade, I'm definitely going for something more solid.
My partner and 1 have a new ikea bed with slats (never haf slats before) and ikea mattress. I had hip problem's for 2 years and couldn't jog anymore. Im so thankful for ikea because since the new bed it's gone. And I'm not really an ikea fan at all
this was the fastest speaking video ever lol if you dnt mind can u do a video actually putting up lights on the ceiling where theres no previous light fixture😊
I have an Ikea dilemma with my Hemnes bed. I use every square inch of under-bed storage space but I can't figure out how to put something like a bed skirt around the bed to cover up all that stuff. A conventional one that hangs from the mattress won't work because there is no opening/space for the fabric between the mattress sides and the frame. Any ideas?
I wish I lived close to an IKEA, but like Walmart, they would probably instantly put every big box furniture store out of business the moment they arrived here (Montgomery, Alabama) 😂. Instead, I have to be content with shipping from Atlanta, but it's super expensive, so I've never bought anything (the shipping is expensive....and half the stuff I want is out of stock from the Atlanta store. And nope, they don't seem willing to let me shop at any other store or just a general warehouse, either).
I love this content, however, I really struggled to keep up with the very fast pace, and especially the fast talking pace. I had to stop and go back several times to just make sense of it all and really catch what the hack was about. I'm really trying to not exaggerate, but I feel a bit exhausted and a bit headachy after what felt like a barrage of fast-paced information. Maybe this is partially due to me not being a native English speaker, so I'm not as used to all the individual variations in speech in English, that I'm used to in my native language and culture, but I do watch TH-cam videos, television shows, films and documentaries (US, UK, New Zealand, Australia) without subtitles and I don't have any difficulties keeping up. I understood all the words, I just wouldn't have caught half of the content if I hadn't rewound several parts of the video, and actually some of them several times. I'm thinking it's a good thing to leave a little breathing room for the viewer to see a hack and have a quick thought about how they could apply the tip in their own home. Maybe there are norms about how long a video should be, and you didn't want to make a too long video (because yeah, I'm more likely to spontaneously watch a video of 10 minutes than 20 minutes, but maybe you could have done a 2 part series of this instead? I hope this really comes across like the really well-intentioned and constructive feedback that I'm aiming for, because I wouldn't have spent the time if I didn't really like your content and your style, and wanting to watch much more of it. If it comes across negatively, I sincerely apologize.
