A good buddy of mine in college, who has since passed away, was from Goshen, Indiana. He introduced me to Dinosaur Jr. and The Replacements. He'd be happy to know music like this still exists, as am I.
Wow. Goshen Indiana in the 90s was my youth. This song is so nostalgic to me. Growing up surrounded by cornfields and not much else we had music to help us through it all. Reminds me of driving with my friends in a beat up car with smashing pumpkins blaring. Good times.
This band checks so many boxes for me. I'm a huge prog rock/metal player, but I very much appreciate the short, sweet, indie rock, excellent song-writing vibe that this has. Every track I've listened to from this band is gorgeous. Also -- randomly -- one of my best college buddies was from Goshen, IN. I realize this is nine years old and the window for "making it" may have passed, but if so it's a tragedy. This band is so good.
I first heard this song while in a traffic delay near the route 1 Princeton circle. I was lonely, I was having fun. Great song, no one wants to start over again however a clean slate is nice too!
Can't believe I am only learning now that is J ripping it up on this track! At the time it same out I hadn't listened to enough Dino Jr. to recognize his signature blissful shredding!
Tommy Raines Indeed. Not noticing J Mascis in this(or any) track he appears in would be like being oblivious to the T-rex busting into your living room.
This song is about me. I was that guy. Singing Pumpkins in the mirror. I was lonely and I was having fun. Just change the title to Bellfonte '07 and this song is a fucking mirror.

I love the Smashing Pumpkins reference. I too was "singing Pumpkins in the mirror" in 1997. This "Heal" album is becoming a favorite.
Tim Showalter vocals plus J. Mascis guitar equals much happiness

RIP Dan Hughes

Was baked at my buddies and this came on Spotify. Had to Shazam it...and here I am. Good tune

Before I was fat, drunk and meeeaaann!
Brings back memories of the movie Eddie and the Cruisers. Great song!
Irony of this song: when its ending I find myself yelling "I don't want to start all over again!" and then I immediately hit replay video...
Fantastic song! Between this band/guy and The War on Drugs, American music is starting to make a comeback.
Nothing, War on Drugs, & Strand of Oaks = all from Philadelphia. Philly's scene has been making a big comeback in particular & press has noticed.
So damn happy i heard this dude doing a set for SiriusXMU. This track blew me away...
Killer track. Love the vocal sound!
❤
October 3rd Dublin, just got my tickets, cannot wait!
I absolutely love this song and thanks so much for the wicked good art!
Can't believe I am only learning now that is J ripping it up on this track! At the time it same out I hadn't listened to enough Dino Jr. to recognize his signature blissful shredding!
J. Mascis guitar riffs have been known to blister one's balls. Mine, and others I know
jodysoldman mine too.
Great band
This song is cool
Pure unadulterated genius...
That opening riff is awfully reminiscent of Dinosaur Jr.
"I don't want to start all over again".
Thats because its J Mascis playing it.

Tommy Raines Well that explains why I've been thinking of Dinosaur Jr. while listening to the album, and the track "JM".
lolwut I believe the "JM" is in reference to Jason Molina. www.stereogum.com/1683487/strand-of-oaks-jm/mp3s/

Oh, okay.
omg I'm in love with this
Great song...u can keep the vid
This song is fucking great, heard on Sirius XMU. Kinda reminds me of Kicking Spit- and indie band from NJ
I'm still writing. Don't ever let go. I wanna hear your song.
Builder on Pinkbike brought me here :D Nice one :)
Me too 🤙🏼
So cool, baby! So cool!
Lively beat there.
HELL YES you guys absolutely rock!!! Keep up the great work!!
It's a one man band.
Really? hmm. you learn something new everyday. thanks!
Brilliant!
FUCK YEAH!
I wish he'd come back and play Goshen in '14!
He is! At the Ignition Music Garage! Look it up on facebook!
Okay, but tomorrow I leave for my freshman year of college. I'm going to Goshen College. This is crazy
I get a dinosaur jr vibe from this song. it could be because I'm biased, still.
It could be that it is actually J Mascis guesting on lead guitar. :)
Because you needed some #Goshen in your new music stream
Definitely an awesome song from 2014
This song is about me. I was that guy. Singing Pumpkins in the mirror. I was lonely and I was having fun. Just change the title to Bellfonte '07 and this song is a fucking mirror.
It’s for all of us. Town, year
My life :)
For me, it sounds a lot like the cure - boys don't cry
for a moment i was thinking of the killers
just a little
Nah dawg, I hear it too
Loved this song - made me want to listen to The Cure! Do I hear an influence?
Reed Janicki You are hearing Dinosaur Jr's cover of Just Like Heaven.
I was watching a movie and this song came on and i was like I 100% know this is J mascis but who the hell is singing? Lmao
Singing Strand of Oaks in the mirror...
beginning = "huh-huh, cool, its a hot chick"...
0:07 = "no way, Butthead, its a dude..!!!"
Is this Dinosaur jrs former guitarist?
Current
I really like these guys an all but some of their music sounds very similar to frightened rabbit old stuff..
I am here because of Emmy
Sounds pretty ordinary.
the only good thing about this song is J Mascis
actually no, the only good thing about this band is J mascis
this band is bloody awful
You just used the word "bloody"
Your whole argument is now invalid.
What a beautiful song!
