Once, back many years ago, I went with a friend of mine to the Peachtree Road Race which he had been training for months for and he was participating in. I went as a last-minute thing just to watch him run in the event. I went with him onto the starting line to wish him off but got surrounded in the crowd and couldn't get out and the race started. I thought I would just work my way over to the edge and get off of the track but the whole route was barricaded off along the route so I ended up giving up and just did the entire race in my wheelchair having had no prep or training. It was fun and I did the whole thing. Turns out I wasn't the only wheelchair person there enjoying having a go at the "Able-Bodied Race" as there had been a wheelchair race earlier that morning. Honestly, I didn't find it hard to do the entire race at all in my wheelchair having had no prep.
Haha it sounds like it's given you a good story to tell at the very least, I can picture that happening! Sometimes those unexpected experiences turn out the be the best and most memorable
Yeah I could've fit another half of me again in that chair! I was saying to Craig while we were doing it that it felt like a very wide reach because I've used a few narrower chairs for sports and they were much easier to push than the wider ones (although the smooth sports hall floors also help too)
It actually ended up being easier than we both expected, probably because we picked out a nice smooth and flat path. Doing a 5k on hills would have been awful!

great spot to run with wheelchair and have fun. thank you both.
Where were you? I often go to North Wales and I’d love to go on that track
Thank you 😀
I tried my friend's wheelchair before, and its so dang hard to used, 😭😭, i cannt even turn right or left when im on it, 🤧
Do a video of you riding your Batec and your girlfriend with her cycle next to you :) Show some local places worth seeing on a handcycle :)
That would be fun, unfortunately we've just been locked down again here so can't go too far right now!
@@adaptivetravel 😥
Even harder because the chair is way too big for you, look how far set out the wheels are.... much harder to push....good experience though

It's not a race guys! You'll never be able to keep up that kind of pace! LOL
