Good video. I have done damping in KUV 100 in front 2 doors. Though they are not Automaxx. I will go for Automaxx for rear doors and floor. Your review about Gurkha is awesome.

I am driving sedan from last 10 yrs..how tough it is in terms of drive comfort visa vis in Gorkha as i had heard that Thar is very comfortable as city vehicle.
Thar is quite refined and easy to use in city since it has automatic option as well as petrol option. At the same time i find that its very comfortable to drive the diesel manual Gurkha in city and highways.
Had paid 900 per sheet of 2.6 mm Automaxx ultra used 20 sheets so about 18,000 for this (Gold color one), 500 per sheet for the Automaxx ultra absorber (white cotton one) and used 10 sheets.. add Rs. 5000 so total 24,000/- I wasn't on TH-cam when i had all this done around January 2022. He has given better prices in this video. Then i got roof damping done which reduced heat inside by about 10 to 12 degrees on the inner roof area when compared to top of the roof. This costed about Rs.6000 as well (Rs.500x12 sheets). So 30,000 was total cost
@@IndianOverlander wow for 30k reduced NVH level and also allowing to keep the car cooler. It's a sweet deal. Actually i am also thinking of buying GURKHA for its 1. Unique look( also the USP of less visible on roads making it a attraction for most of the public) 2. Rugged machine, old school manual functions (with diff. Locks) 3. Spacious and also better car comfort compared to THAR, making it easy choice for me for daily drive.
@@undercutsoul898 the Gurkha comes with decent quality sound deadening materials as stock. First drive it for a while and see if you really need it. The heat deflection advantage has really been there in a big way. Noticed that the most.
@@IndianOverlander oh sir i do need it, because i have driven thar diesel automatic for a while and you also mentioned thar had better curbing of sound compared to stock Gurkha. I can only comment on Automaxx since thats the one ive used. Its got over 1 mm aluminum foil and uses virgin rubber. Results are good so far. For sound and heat absorption.
Very informative video. Shopkeepers always try to push their own products and we don't know the difference. I just bought a new gurkha and plan to get sound damping as well. Also upgrade the tryes to the renegade RT. Was wondering if the stock alloys will work with these. I saw another video by DCV expedition in which he chose wider 8.5inch alloys and said that there may be no space for snowchains with 75 profile tyres. So do you think we need wider alloys and is there enough space for snow chains in your vehicle? Thanks
Better to get 8 inch wide alloys. For 245 thats the minimum width required technically. I use Radar 245/75/R16 and yes there is reduction in clearance while turning. Dont know about snow chain fitment as i haven't tried yet. I feel there is adequate space though.
