Just now watched the movie in Netflix....to be honest, Singampuli's character arc and performance is THE BEST in Maharaja...its more than Vijay Sethupathi, Anurag and Natty's performance.. in real life this is how the characters are...outside he/she will be an ordinary common man but inside they will have atmost creul things....
Best scene in the movie is when Singampuli sir shows how he closed the mouth at the girls height and then realizing that Sethupathi found out, raised the hand higher and higher to his height. Multi dimensional thinking!
That one-on-one dialogue between you and sethupathi at the end shows your tremendous acting....kola nadunga vekkura scene....Unexpected character role you played in this movie... My hearty wishes, and congrats to the whole cast and crew of this movie..

The characterisation played by Sir Singham was really so surprising and unimaginable .. all thought it would be Sir Mani for sure , but got twisted ..This script made me remember of Por Thozil , where all were very sure that Sir Sunil Sukhada was not so useful n applicable to be a killer , the strongest and doubtfull was onto Sir Sarath Babu but all went opposite direction .. Good screen play and well played ..
When I watched for the first time, for almost 5 mins i could not believe he did that. I thought it's a imagination only.. but we ll delivered character
I find it extremely unfortunate that some of our Indian audience finds his character disturbing but it's understandable, given how perfectly he played this difficult part. I'm a non Tamil/Telegu speaker and watched this masterpiece with subtitles and thoroughly enjoyed his performance. The way he brought out the gruesomeness and perversions of his character is mindblowing to me. I've been a film buff for a long time and I'm not exaggerating when I say this is one of the best movies and some of the best performances I've ever seen.
