    Thanks for posting this AC!
    I am currently a green belt under Trace Albritton and I take my brown belt test this coming Wednesday. I'm nervous as a cat! Watching your video is inspiring, thank you.

      Bradley Coots you’re most welcome, brother. I’d wish you best of luck for Wednesday, but luck is just where preparation meets opportunity. You’ve prepared and now is your opportunity to shine - go rock this!

      Mr. Wiley,
      I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to write me back and give encouragement. I took the opportunity and "let it fly" last night. I had the privilege of taking my brown belt test with 3 IKCA Black belts overseeing and conducting the test. Trace Albritton, Heith Land and Michael Techlowec - what an honor I have with these guys being in my gym. I passed my test last night and my belt ceremony is tonight at class.
      Thanks again AC, keep the Parker/Sullivan spirit alive!

    Hey there Dr. Wiley,
    Came across this vid and wanted to comment!
    I like the depth on the twist stances and the elbow centric blocks and strikes. The best master form I have ever seen

    Some decision precision in form, but I would add more intensity as it was sometimes a little lackluster.

    its been a min sense iv seen this form as in around 5 years or more. i also got my 1st dan in chinese kenpo under lyman in utah. ikca chinese kenpo took me 4 years to get it but then i fell dorment for a min got wrapped up with studying rapid assault tactics. and bits of silat. and panantukan. but when this covid garbage lets up for a min going to take a 6 month contract for 2 classes a week. of seibuakan jujustu. and will do that for another 4 to 5 years. and get my black belt again. and then work on a black belt in bjj. then move over to krav maga. and then take up muay thai. and finish it up with white tiger kungfu. thats what i have mapped out for myself i want to study all those arts for scientific reasons.

    Nice movement, but I do have a observation/question. I understand that most Chinese based systems do not usually execute a "spirit yell", but you did not appear to "breath" with your movements. Why is that?

    • @Wileyinstruction
      @Wileyinstruction  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question, Donald; In the IKCA curriculum, we frequently teach the student to breath throughout the whole technique rather than in a more staccato manner. In my experience, it creates a greater smoothness, albeit at a potential loss of shock power from exhilaration.

    Great video! Is that Fort Morton?

    • @Wileyinstruction
      @Wileyinstruction  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Timothy Mai Thank you, sir! No, that is actually the old Redoubt at Fort Barrancas, in Pensacola Florida. The actual Ford is only a few miles from this site and is incredibly cool if you ever get the chance to go and visit. Self-guided tours, but really neat site

    Crap, not enough Fluidity, to many Jerky movements, Missing targets, not looking at Targets, to damn slow, Not looking behind you when you should be looking behind you can't hit a Target if your not looking at it. I would say your more of a Orange Belt testing for Purple let alone a 5th degree Black Belt testing for a 6th, Sad state of affairs to see what Kenpo has turned into, oh yeah that's what happens when you take testing via MAIL...

      Thank you so much for your frank analysis; I’m sure I’ll take it in the positive way you intended. I look forward to seeing your video example of what it *should* look like. Please share the link so we can all learn from your example; cheers!
