Paris should have mixed the b-boy / b-girl competitions on Friday (the 1st day). Watching the females, many newcomers went away disappointed in the performances. I will say Logistix and Nicka did their thing though and Sunny exuded great energy. The MEN will definitely NOT disappoint. They need to go ballistic out there!
LEE because there are 15 rounds total for gold medal, and he can freestyle and he has the new modern era moves. I put him slightly above Phil because LEE is cleaner with his execution. Lee and Phil most recent battle was the RedBull originality battle where Lee won. This battle showed their weaknesses though.

Historically it’s because the Bay Area/Northern California (Style Elements) surpassed New York Bboys around the year 1997 by creating new moves that never existed in the Bboy community prior. Some of the new moves Style Elements are famous for in the 90’s decade are still hard for Bboys in 2024 to perform. The bar was raised. After that the Style Elements battled the world’s best at BOTY and won won the world championship. There are zero NY crews that ever won a global tournament. HOWEVER THE ENTIRE Bboy community respects NY because they are the creators of HipHop and the foundational moves of this art form. However to grab a place on the Olympic team roster you have to enter and win preliminary battles to secure your spot.
These countries have amazing upcoming talent but not seasoned and organised enough to beat the North Africans in the African Championships. But I’m sire things will change.
Though I get why Breakdancing should not be an Olympic sport, what about Curling? What about Air Gun or Canoeing? Why is Dressage an Olympic Sport? Even for fan favorites, why is Table Tennis in the Olympics? There are too many sports in the Olympics. My argument in favor of Breakdancing is that inner city urban kids do not have access to traditional sports. They don't have the facilities, money, nor space to pursue sports. Breakdancing is a great avenue for self-expression and it is athletic. Still, if Breakingdancing is in the Olympics, what about Clowning, Krumping, Popping, and Jootin? Perhaps there's a larger Olympic umbrella that all street dancers can perform in? Then again, would validating street dancing in the Olympics ruin street dancing's credibility?
