In this video we took on the challenge of Terraria Master Mode with ONLY pickaxes. This was an incredibly hard challenge that tested my Terraria knowledge and skills to their limits. Pickaxes are normally used for digging, but I use them as a weapon against my enemies. Can I beat the Wall of Flesh and eventually the Moon Lord with only tools designed to chip stone and dig dirt?

For EOL, you could have just used a celestial night pylion thingy (when right clicked, it skips to the next night). This would skip over the day tike all together. However, with every failed attempt doing that, you will have to wait a week in game time.

Line breaking is genuinely, without a single hint of exaggeration, the single most infuriating mechanic in all of Terraria. Fishing would actually be worthwhile if that one fffucking mechanic was removed outright.

Guys, I know that a fishing rod isn't a pickaxe. But this challenge would've been IMPOSSIBLE without one. I either smash the alters with a hammer, or fish for ores. I could not have beaten the mech bosses without the hardmode ores. Also, the reason I didn't allow the shield of cthulhu but allowed the bone glove and helm, and the stinger necklace, was because the shield says it does 30 melee damage in the tooltip, while those accessories don't, they do classless damage. I just needed a little extra damage to beat the WoF.
But still you allowed yourself to use Laser Drill, which is obviously a drill

CJ you are the only TH-camr I’ve seen who is willing to put themself through the pain of having to re do a fight that you haven’t recorded. Mad respect
You grinded for all of the potions, boss summons and other items without any QoL mods and also beating all of the bosses mad respect from me
CJ Deathbot is such a damn inspiration to me. I'm doing hardcore master attempts and I keep getting bad luck and dying, I wouldn't still be attempting without Terraria TH-camrs like CJ. Shit like this inspired me to keep going nad my current attempt is my furthest attempt yet, having killed one mech. It isnt much but I'm proud. Keep it up CJ.
Ayy same man, I attempted MMHC with each class last year because of his video and already beat 3/4 classes now. Still gotta do HC summoner tho, just need some energy. Keep up the good work and hope you can do it

You should do an only enemy drops run. Im doing one right now and its painful, especially since im not letting myself craft weapons, armor, or accessories with the enemy drops.

@@CJDEATHBOT Yep, currently fighting through hard mode with it. Funnily enough I'm pretty sure it has more defense than spooky armor, so still tankier than summoner.

"I beat the boss but wasn't recording" Once is understandable but I do not believe you that it happened that many times.
Why not? I literally went and did it again with the exact same stuff I had before I beat the boss. What would I have to gain from doing that? All it did for me was waste a bunch of my time. You would believe me if you actually recorded content like I do. Things like this just happen when you have 30+ hours of footage.
Random question, I know you didn’t use the shield of Cthulhu since it does damage. Using that same logic wouldn’t the bone glove and the deerclops claw thing be off limits too? Just curious about your thought process. I haven’t finished the video yet though so idk if you explained it haha. Great video as always!!
It's mostly just that the shield is melee and the bone glove and helm are classless damage. It's also that I needed that little extra damage to be able to progress so I allowed it

If I recall reading something a looong time ago, surface has a faster tick rate than undeground so a pro tip is to build potion farms on surface because of the faster plant growth

There is a challenge I've been working through recently that i think would be fun to see. Beating terraria 3ds edition as a summoner. Terraria 3ds is already challenging in itself (unless you use the cupid arrows) but its really fun trying to beat it as a summoner. I would love to see you try it and love watching your content.

volcano traps work wonders for invasion enemies it would be good to make a small one just to have them walk to their death. another tip you can make the EoL go back to her night state if you use a moon dial just as it turns to day time you have to survive till night comes again and you will have a 2nd night's worth of time this works on other bosses but you need to keep them on the screen to keep them from despawning

To be fair the Shield of Cthulhu specifies 30 melee damage, whereas the bone glove and bone helmet don't specify any damage in their tooltips, and they're classless damage.

Well actually I switched to it because it has much more range. The digging claw has -1 range and the chlorophyte pickaxe has +1
I know it may be easy but you should do summoner or mage gear with only no projectile swords as a weapon

2 - Eye of Cthulu
3 - Skeletron
4 - Brain of Cthulu/ Eater of Worlds
5 - Wall of Flesh
I have never fought Queen Bee
I have never fought the mechs
I have never fought plantera
I just fight the wall and go "Yep this playthrough's complete beat all the bosses everything else is too hard (Probably)"
