I too am enchanted by the water but I paddle a kayak. Still, your enthusiasm for sailing is contagious and inspiring and just plain fun to watch! Makes me wish I knew how to harness the wind.
Going to build one of these so I can paddle streams, and row/sail the open waters. Looks like a win/win/win situation. I'll be fishing as well. Thanks for the vids and sharing your excitement about the boat. I had heard of everything but the Duck Punt, will be my first build.
Great vids, you're doing what I did 10 years ago,I must of had 10 sailboats, that I rebuilt.Had a 14ft Snark(foam)all the way up to a 30ft Catalina sloop, which I sailed from New Jersey, down the Intercoastal Waterway to the Florida Keys by myself. What an adventure that was.Anyway, since Im now 62,time to slow down and raise chickens and goats in good old Chatham,Virginia.Back in the 1700s,the English were all over here,I hope I'll fit in,I"m Irish here, lol
don't slow down - sail more - get a faster boat - trimaran I am reading micheners Chesapeake at the moment - man I would love to sail around there before I drop off my perch. I am 58 - we only go once around this hamster wheel of life.
KeepTurningLeft Ya know the best boat I had was a Hobie16 and of course the Catalina 30,it was fairly fast and you could liveaboard, which I did for 8 years on a mooring ball.get off work, take the dinghy out to a little island, snorkel and fish,oh what a life. The only thing was the hurricanes,a bit scary after awhile,Paddy
Thanks Dylan ! I just build a 8foot D5 dinghy, modified with deck. With the ability to sleep on board. I got the Opti-rig. I just must build a DP.! I have your´s plans. I´m curious.. adding chinerunner as Matt Layden has done on some of his boats.. and a deck.. It´s choppy here in the Swedish archipelago...
it took me a week from first cut to first sail one bloke did one in 18 hours of workshop time using cascamite and decking screws - free plans on my website and more build films - it is a wonderful boat
