Jaehaerys took a very strong liking to Daemon so it's likely he taught Daemon the "song" that Jaehaerys would sing for Vermithor when it was a hatchling
I agree with the theory or why would Daemon sing it to vermithor if not to reinforce his bond with the dragon in order to listen to him in some form? And if it's a spell then it's one hella beautiful and captivating spell, if i were a dragon i would be lured to it too
Beautiful siren voice you have. Dragons love songs like us, it gives us a glimpse of the tragedy of Dragons. Which is that they are few in number than in the glory days of the Valyrian Freehold. It gives us the emotion of sadness that Dragons are dying race that can easily be destroyed by some foolish people. Tragedy of an extinct culture. This song shows us that Daemon is the closest to a Valyrian Dragonlord we got, because he understands and embraces the Dragons better than the other members of house Targaryen. He knows that you have to form a connection with the Dragon like a relationship, for Dragons don't take commands like dogs do. By showing respect to the Dragons, you get a loyal companion for the rest of your life. Aemond and Lucaerys learned it the hard way. It also shows us that the Dragons are not beasts, but sentient beings that have emotions and physical weaknesses. Dragons never stop growing as long they are not in captivity and can eat as much as they want. Enjoy freedom as any living being.
I haven't read everything and have bad memory even when I have lol but I hope that it turns out to be an area of their world somewhere that dragons are still roaming freely and they just don't know. Maybe somewhere "West of Westoros". They are too great to be destroyed like this
If you look at Daemon lineage, it shows that he's pure Valyrian unlike his nephews (Aegon, Aemond, and Daeron). His parents were both Targaryens, his grandparents were both Targaryens, his great grandfather was Targaryean and married a Valeryon, and great great grand parents were Aegon and Rhaenys Targaryean. This is probably why he didn't approve of his first marriage to lady Rhae Royce. He believes that the Targaryean blood is far superior than the others. Daemon is the last remnant of pure Valyria, he is himself the last dragon!
I like to think Aegon, the Conqueror or Visenya wrote this song as tribute to Rhaenys and Meraxes after their deaths in Dorne. It makes it all the more sad, but all the more powerful.
I've listened to this so many times. I just have it on loop and listen to it for hours. This is amazing, I hope they release an official version someday.
The acting is absolutely the gold standard. Look at otto acting in season 2. Simply incredible. Its just quality over quality the michelin star of movies.
I would love to here the clean sung version from Matt Smith without any background. just as it was in the episode. he made it into a perfectly haunting song.
As awesome and fitting as it was to reuse the GoT theme for HotD, it would I’ve been equally grand and powerful for an instrumental version of this song to be the theme music for HotD.
@Christopher Nas if the blacks had a sick theme similar to Rains of Castamere this is how it’ll go: The flames of Dragonstone “And who are you, the fiery queen said That I must kneel so low? Only a beast of a different scale. That’s all the truth I know. In a scale of black, or a scale of red, The dragon still has fire Mine are bright and fiery, my queen. As bright and fiery as yours.” “And so she spoke, and so she spoke, That queen of dragonstone. But now the flames weep o’er her hall. And not a soul to burn. (Violin and piano instrumental part) And who are you, the fiery queen said. That I must kneel so low? Only a beast of a different scale. That’s all the truth I know.” “And so she spoke, and so she spoke, That queen of dragonstone. But now the flames weep o’er her hall. And not a soul to burn.” “And who are you, the fiery queen said. That I must kneel so low? Only a beast of a different scale. That’s all the truth I know. In a scale of black or a scale of red, The dragon still has fire. Mine are bright and fiery, my queen, As bright and fiery as yours.” “And so she spoke, and so she spoke, That queen of dragonstone. But now the flames weep o’er her hall. And not a soul to burn.” Can you sing or make this song please and thank you
Drakari pykiros (fire breather) Tikummo jemiros (winged leader) Yn lantyz bartossa saelot vaedis (but two heads to a third sing) Hen Nuha Eleni per zyssy vestretis (from my voice the fires have spoken) Se gelyn irudaks anogrose (and the price has been paid with blood magic) Perzyro udryssi (with words of flame) Ezimptos Laehossi (with clear eyes) Harossa letagon (to bind the three) Hae Merot Gieruli (as one we gather) Se haros bartossi (and with three heads) Prumysa sovili (we shall fly as we were destined) Gevi Daeri (beautifully, freely)
Cool fun fact that may back the dragons and music theory: in our history, there’s a dragon named Typhon that’s known to have been entranced by music because he had never heard it before. He’d been lured out by someone sent by Zues. Typhon was so intrigued by the music that when the bard broke his instrument, he willingly handed these strings he stole from Zues to the bard to replace it. It’s said he was then tricked and Zues buried him beneath the mountain.
Honestly if Vissy had claimed his grandpa's dragon after taking the throne i feel like a lot of shit woulda been chiller. Certainly no stepstones drama with a confident Viserys riding the Bronze Fury.
@@maciejka4537 Very true. Hope we get a flashback with him and the black dread next season. lot of story potential to why a 16 year old with an aversion to dragons picked the conquerer's
It kinda sounds like a ritual to create dragons. From the S2 tapestry it showed a dragon like figure with a human head, a man is shown holding a dagger and in front of him is a kneeling woman. There is also fire and blood imagery, "the two heads sing to a third one" could be the man and the woman bonding with a dragon. This is most likely some deep lore about dragons and Valyria, and the explanation behind the 3 heads which could be the wyrm that turns into a dragon, Azor Ahai and his wife Nissa Nissa. This would mean that Nissa Nissa was sacrificed in order to birth dragons, literally. And we know that fire and a human sacrifice are what allowed Dany to hatch her dragon eggs. No wonder this song is used by Daemon to bond with dragons, or at least appease them. It's likely a ritual since the days of Old Valyria. Damn the showrunners have been cooking all this time.

If you are the one that did the record, amazing work. Just amazing!
I would like to think that this song is actually a lullaby sung to each Targaryen child.
More like a part of bonding ritual ;)

Yes bro this is legendary ❤❤❤ it will be crazy
