    You can also get or make a small worm bin. The worms eat the Lomi dirt and leave castings/ fertilizer for the plant

    Loved the idea. Got one for Christmas and it’s dead already. No customer service response for days. I’d save my money.

    That's interesting. I mean technically. If it's compost, it should have already gone through the rotting process. So.... Anyway, it'll be interesting to see what you find out

      it's not true compost, it's expedited compost so it's MOSTLY decomposed but not all the way

      It isn’t compost. It’s dried shredded food scraps.

    You can top off the soil of potted plants with coffee grounds. Used coffee grounds are only mildly acidic (the acid is removed by brewing), and goes to neutral fairly quickly.

    Hopefully, it will help your plant. Looking forward to seeing if it works.

    I have a couple videos on experimenting with the lomi compost soil. I havnt used the different settings though I don't think a longer time is what I want since that may be too much energy than I want to use.

    Ok I am not trying to start a war here, but did they give you the product for free? I am EXTREMELY skeptical of this product. They are charging $399 and it seems to have almost identical internal function as a $85 bread maker.
    Also I don't see how this wouldn't massively humidify and heat up the space you are using it in. Both of those are obviously not good for a living space or good for the inside of a room or RV. And of course you are spending a LOT of electricity. You would have to assume heating your compose is more efficient in a counter top bread maker than what a multi million dollar composting company is operating at, where you can just stop at a store and buy bags of cheap compose as needed.
    I am not saying it is impossible for this product to be good. But most of this does NOT pass the smell test in a technical sense.

    • @TheSimpleEnvironmentalist
      @TheSimpleEnvironmentalist  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      yes they did gift it to me and i would not buy this personally. There are many other great brands out there doing kitchen counter top "composting."
      But, no it does not ccreate heat or humidity which is nice! it all happens internally. It is also not a LOT of electicity, we rarely run it so it depends if you use it once a day or once a month. Check out my full video on the Lomi to answer more of your questions but long story short, the lomi is really only a good option for people where it's their last resort for composting like me.

    Lomi chops and dehydrates: does not compost, which requires living organisms. Occupies space in your RV, consumes energy, useless. Greenwashing. Vermiculure your best bet.

    Dehydrating doesn't destroy nutrients, it destroys micro-organisms.

    Lomi is marketing its useless energy pig gadget hard, and is paying influencers to help the greenwashing grift. Sad to see you sell out to them.

      I dont know is the point of this machine for composting?…to recycle?…but adding plastic machine to compost is not helpful to the environment. Buying it, is adding more plastic waste to earth. Organic material, over time will decompose not like plastic which broken down into microplastic and litters the earth and ocean.
