I admire guys like this doc who actually understand that absolutely everything in our body is interconnected. Our bodies aren’t doing things out of random; it just adapts to the abuse we’re giving it to help us survive. Our bodies are extremely complex machines and even the biggest experts probably only understand a small fraction of how it all works. fascinating stuff

You mean the fact that when you go to doctor they never ask you about diet and shove engrained dietary misinformation at you, that being the exact cause of most health issues worldwide.

When I was in JR. HIGH my mother asked a shrink to put me on Ritalin. The first time I took it I woke her up in the middle of the night telling her I needed to go running! I had so much energy in me I thought running would get rid of it. She took me to the hospital and we learned that the prescription dosage was written wrong and way too high of a does! After that I pretended to take the medication but never did. My mother thought it was working. My whole life I have been sensitive to chemicals and medications.

Healthy, balanced keto completely fixed my sluggish gallbladder, and now I also understand why the pain in my right shoulder has gone away! I struggled with these problems since my teens! Mind is boggled!
In the beginning of keto, my gallbladder did protest, but it certainly went away, and is now fixed. Pushing my gallbladder now, and not feeling a thing!

My SNPS said I don't convert vitamin A to the usable form by 60%.
I Had dry eyes, rough skin, inability to drive at night, and finally at 55 had colon cancer.
I take a LOT of vitamin A now, and just tested my level.
It came back in the normal range after taking 25,000 iu a day for a year.
My eyes are better, my skin is better.....and hopefully my colon stays better as well.
Genetic testing was a definite game changer for me.
I could have eaten carotenoids all day long and still have been deficient.
Great talk, I agree lifestyle is most important, but I also believe that MANY people could find some benefit from genetic testing.

For about two months, pretty much all I ate was carrots (don't ask ;) ). so I did eat carotenoids 'all day long.' But then I tried liver for the first time. Zoom. Lights on. I don't think I've ever seen food impact physiology so directly, so obviously.

I have been taught some hard lessons about my genetic, microbiomic, and metabolic patterns in the last 2 years. Now I am accepting the patterns and hacking or targeting my nutrition successfully to make improvements. For me this means modified keto and elimination of added sugar. Limiting supplementation. 4 months. 35 pounds gone. And I am just getting started. The dopamine/serotonin uptake connection is something I am looking to manage even further. I am leaning out my liver and managing all this without a gall bladder (learned so much that could have helped later than I needed). Good luck to all. Thankful to find HIH.

Thank you guys, this is really important information! Personally can't do most of the adaptogens and amino acids including 5-HTP. And even melatonin. Bunch of stuff that is very frequently suggested and highly talked about to deal with certain challenges. Sometimes I'm thinking that I did something wrong testing the stuff and try it again, but still doesn't work. I think we need to push this more and really help people to see that they truly are an individual who need an individualized approach in terms of hydration, sleep, food, movement, supplements and so on. Thankfully I recovered from A LOT of brainwashing already. It's crazy how confused and anxious many people out there are when it comes to diet and genes and what supplements they are said to take and whatnot.
    Love and strength

Most supplements are Chinese junk. I cant take most supplements either because of either the source of ingredients, fillers, capsules, and the recommended dosages for nutraceuticals are not researched enough or regulated

    • @ThomasAT86
      @ThomasAT86 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@toneman8478 Yeah I'm trying to go for quality and do research as much as I can in terms of where certain things come from. Obviously the supplement market is very badly regulated and as labdoor shows, some supplements are really off, sometimes not even containing the ingredients they claim (probiotics with 1% of claimed CFU) or much more (multivitamins with 200% of certain vitamins/minerals). Sadly in Europe most of the solid supplements (Pure Encapsulations, Designs for Health,...) are not available or frequently sold 2-3x the price.

I’ve struggled with a large array of physical and mental challenges since I was about 10. Doctors made me feel like I was crazy...a hypochondriac. I did 23andme and epigenetic testing that resulted in partial answers. My nurse friend eye rolled and mocked my research into my lab work. At 44 I finally have an answer...a rare genetic disorder called Hypophosphatasia. Unfortunately, there isn’t much I can do about it other than continue to make healthy lifestyle choices. At least my kids will be able to get tested and get the medical help I had to suffer without. I had been taking methyl-B complex and cod liver oil for other epigenetic problems. It turns out the hypophosphatasia caused toxicity because it causes low alkaline phosphatase which regulates everything. Information is power.

The concern is multiple things can determine what genetic pathways are utilized, as well as if metabolism is increased or decreased.
We are exposed to harmful substances that we are not even aware of since we are harmed from the air we breathe, water we drink, food we eat, products we use, etc.
Chronic stress, deficiencies in nutrient cofactors, dehydration, poor gut function, toxin exposure, lack of sleep, etc. can negatively affect our genetic predisposition.

The info on the breakdown of dopamine makes me think. When I'm glycogen depleted and workout. My sweat shirt will often smell of ammonia and while I always knew it was from protein... I never considered the ammonia was the bi-product of metabolized dopamine. If that's correct, does that imply I should occasionally workout when depleted of glycogen once in a while? If so sweat may be better than antioxidant supplements

@@TheReminderChannnel That's my takeaway from the research I've done, but, I could be wrong. If you do go the berberine route, I'd suggest a blood glucose monitor, since berberine lowers your blood sugar, and, if it's already low before you take it, it could make you hypoglycemic.

The 4 Fs: female, fat, fertile, 40s.
--> These increase the chance of gallbladder issues. Also consider some (many?) of these women have used low-calorie/low-fat diets, which may have not only limited their nutrient intake, but quite possibly stagnated the gallbladder (if it wasn't flowing, the bile has an easier chance of coagulating and forming stones).

In my 50s and struggling with severe constipation since my 30s and having children. It has taken a big toll as it affects my mood and energy and basic ability to even function. Have tried a lot magnesium and other things but nothing seems to help much now. Tried keto but after listening to this it seems it is not the answer and I need to cut back on the fat and focus on the health of my gall bladder. My father had PD as did his father. High cholesterol seems to be hereditary in the family and I have inherited it as well. My father tried hard to stay fit, eat healthy, didn’t drink or smoke. He was given a lot of medication for his PD. He got dyskinesia an had a very poor quality of life during his last 5 years of life & died at 76. I do wonder what caused this and how to avoid going down the same path.

I have had two sites do my DNA. History is my reason for DNA. However, I have no interest in their health reports. As an old woman I have taken very good care of myself and have no medical issues. The food choices I have made run the whole spectrum. The food advice over the decades has been faulty. Doctors know little about food. A balance in life of one's food, excercise, activites, mental health, love, family, beliefs has been the key to my state of being. Staying clear of doctors and any drugs seems to have worked for me.

Hidden gluten and grain make my eyes horribly dry! In my case its a symptom of celiac and I do have the celiac gene. I don't eat anything processed anymore because its too easy for stuff to get cross contaminated. Last time I tried a simple electrolyte drink I lost 8 pounds in 3 days due to hidden gluten!

Before you try anything. It may be just a vitamin-A deficiency. Specifically retinol. I would try desicated liver tabs (beverly international makes a good one) get actual retinol as it's possible beta carotene isn't converting well.

So are leukemia etc caused by bad life style and malnutrition too? I got diagnosed with a condition called aplastic anemia, which makes my bone marrow empty and not produce blood cells enough so basically makes me extremely anemic. I was 10 when I got the diagnosis, and I was 3 when I started developing symptoms looking back. Do yall think my parents divorce or my mom feeding fast food actually caused it? she cooked most days tho
