It’s so nice to see someone who genuinely enjoys what they do! People tend to be very negative or ‘doom and gloom’ about the field of medicine on the internet, to the point where it’s often discouraging to someone who is considering entering into the field. This has inspired me again, thank you.

As the mother of a child who has needed a lot of medical care, it’s wonderful to hear you talk about this. Informed consent is so important. I’ve found that good clinicians welcome questions, and want patients to understand what is happening and why. I want to my child to be treated by people who want to be there, who are passionate about what they do. That needs to come from the clinicians themselves, and also the environment and institution they practice within.

hi ollie I recently decided that I would like to become a doctor and a GP at that specifically being a GP or maybe a ER doctor is the specialty that I want to do, and after watching this video I just want to ask you 2 questions firstly you mention lateral progression is that lateral progression only in medicine and science related jobs or would you say that having finished med school and the GP specialty would give you transferable skills across to everything secondly and more importantly is do you have any advice about trying to find a junior doctor placement and a specialty training placement? love the videos and it was nice hearing a positives list for once.
