    Hi friends. Changing money at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok becomes less of a pain if we do it at these special exchange counters. These special counters offer the best exchange rates, much better than the immigration area or the arrival area on Level 2. Hope this video helps save money for all of my fellow travelers.

    Thank you for the video! I arrive in Bangkok 2 hours ago. The exchange rate was 30 baht for each $1. But i followed your advice, went by the train downstairs, and the rest was 33.05 baht!
    This is the most practical advice I’ve seen. Thank you!!!

    Hi , is this present in the airport itself, as you mentioned we have to go downstairs where we get the train from airport to diff locations of the city right?

    • @desiyatri
      @desiyatri  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it is inside the airport, right behind the entry to the airport train. When at Suvarnabhumi, take an elevator or escalator and go down to Level B.

  • @mbarrett99

    hey I'm in Bangkok and have being trying to exchange Cambodian and been having a really hard time with it do you have any tips for that?

    • @desiyatri
      @desiyatri  ปีที่แล้ว

      You would have tried many places already, including banks, but all I can suggest is to try bank owned exchange places. Maybe Kasikorn Bank. And better go to one of their branches. Even if they can't change it, they may give you some ideas.

    Hello,
    I fall under visa on arrival category,
    May i know if there are any exchange outlets before the immigration (visa on arrival) counters as I am planning to bring USD only and exchange in Bangkok to get better rates.
    Or Is it mandatory to bring Thai Bhat to pay at the VISA ON ARRIVAL counter ?
    Your reply would be so much helpful please.
    Thank you

    • @desiyatri
      @desiyatri  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. Firstly, the visa fee has to be paid in Thai currency only. If you bring USD, you can change it to THB before visa/immigration. There are two or three exchange counters there. However, the exchange rates at those counters are really bad. If you have to, change only what you need to pay for the visa. The good exchange counters, which you see in this video, can be reached only after you have crossed visa/immigration, and Customs. About which currency to bring to Thailand, if you have BookMyForex service in your area, they will give you Thai Baht currency at a premium of approximately 5%, which is actually a fine rate. Otherwise, try to procure USD at the best possible rate and change it after coming to Thailand. Again, avoid changing money in the visa area at any Thai airport. You have already seen the best Suvarnabhumi exchange counters in this video. In Pattaya and Phuket, these two videos will show you where to get the best rates: th-cam.com/video/id8B9sxtFUg/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/4KnYXjVzhjg/w-d-xo.html Feel free to write another comment if you need any other info or clarification.

      @@desiyatri Firstly, I am so glad that you messaged me super quick… yes now I understood that I need to arrange atleast the amount (Thai Bhat) which requires for the visa purpose either in my home country or jus before immigration (in that 2-3 counters)🙃🙃….
      For Tour purposes etc, as you said, I shall exchange it separately as guided in your video.
      Thanks a lot buddy :)

    Hello,
    Is the exchange rate companies at the level B equivalent to the current exchange companies in the city? I am wondering if should exchange all my money or should I do a small amount until I can access one within the city?
    Thank you!

    • @desiyatri
      @desiyatri  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Level B rates are very close to the city rates, and sometimes, even better. There is another problem in the city, particularly in Bangkok. There, you may have to travel, buy a train ticket or taxi, to go to a good money changer. At the airport, you are not paying extra to go to the money changer. In Bangkok, it will depend on your location. If you are lucky, you may spot a money changer offering slightly better rates than Level B rates. But there is no guarantee. However, in Pattaya, T.T. Currency exchange counters are everywhere (I hope you have seen my TT Currency video). But I have noticed, T.T. rates are best in Pattaya, but not better than BKK Level B rates. So, you may change all your money at BKK Level B, and focus on enjoying your trip, rather than worrying about a small difference in the exchange rates.

      @gregsurrey8564 The original comment says, "credit card", which is why I did not suggest the ATM option. But certainly, credit cards can be used for shopping in Thailand.

    Hey. Do they exchange Indian rupees there. How much was the rate?

    • @desiyatri
      @desiyatri  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi. Indian currency can be changed everywhere in Thailand as long as you have INR 500 notes. The problem is with the exchange rates, which are usually bad, and sometimes horrible. I have seen INR-THB exchange cost as high as 34%. It is a bad idea to carry Indian currency to Thailand. For guidance, you may like to watch my other Thailand Currency Exchange videos, which I have compiled in this playlist. One particular video is on Changing Indian Rupees to Baht in Thailand: th-cam.com/play/PLcii2WHhv2RsC8SdEYpufzToOinX_WPEw.html&si=cRmjZzEG2wpQyN-Q

      @vicktorezuu81 The exchange rate there will be nearly the best. And because you are changing 1000 pounds, you may ask them if they can do a little better than their card rate. Check at all the different counters there. If you want a slightly better rate for sure, you may try Super Rich (Thailand) in Bangkok city.
