I'm a male witch and a devotee of Hekate, and have a very close relationship with my goddess.
The reason why there are more women followers of Hekate in society is simply because, on average, there are more female witches than male practitioners around, at least who are outspoken about their beliefs.
It's not for the lack of attraction or calling to our goddess. It simply depends on what circles you hang around with, mine being traditional rather than the wiccan religion.

I disagree that Hecate is mainly a feminine worker - as a male practitioner, Hecate has enabled me to redress some of my issues with women (especially mothers) and has helped me to understand the strengths and similarities between the sexes. She has enabled me to love the feminine aspect of the craft and understand the need for balance and equality of power. Blessed are her torches, she lit the darkness I did not know I carried. She is with me always

Hekate despises these pro-feminists women who constantly identity themselves as victims and keep using their "oh poor me" agenda to inflict more pain and sufferings into the world, targeting men in general. Hekate is the embodiment of power and mastering of ones shadow selves, not as a weapon for pro-feminists' ego feeding.

@@frisky_cat6817 not all feminist are bitter, it's actually about equality for all. You just get bitter broken people in all aspects of life but that isn't a reflection of the true meaning of feminism. Its got twisted overtime by wounded people that haven't faced there own shadows yet... Live in fear and fear is all you will see. See where I'm going with this?

I don't think Melissa was saying this at all. She was speaking from how it affected her. Not wanting to disclude or slur men. But she can't speak for the guys experiences. In the witchcraft environment in Gardnerian & Alexandrian wicca the female priestess draws down the moon and the Goddess speaks the charge via her. It's part of the tradition. The Goddess doesn't go through the male priest.

I love Hekate. She is one of my favorite goddesses.
She sends visions to me and has saved me from many disasters.
I am so grateful to her. She inspires me to be a better person.
It is shocking how to this day after thousands of years of fighting,
the so called "monotheists" in name but not in action,
hate Pagans when they really are
corrupted Pagans that betrayed their own people
    just like Marxists do.
Let people worship the Goddesses and Gods that inspire them
to be good people or they will become evil people
that take away basic human rights and human dignity for "politics".
Christians never won their "holy war"
just like Muslims and Jews never will
because they stole those beliefs from other people.
    "Thou shalt not steal."
Well look at what you stole!
The name Hel was stolen from the Norse Goddess
that takes cowards to live with her.
I could write a book about all the things pantheists stole from Pagans
and you still would believe your stealing was "justified".
Don't expect people to help you out since you pushed everyone away
for endless wars! There will never be one God!
The cosmos is full of infinite deities.
You "monotheists" live as spiritual parasites stealing philosophies
and customs from other people's religions.
I don't know how anyone could think that was "holy",
that is just stealing and you know that in your spirit.
Everyone feels that it is wrong to steal!
You are pantheists, you throw all the Goddesses and Gods
into one ridiculous divinity that does nothing for you
but give you war, confusion, and constant bickering about
the "trinity". Remember the "first commandment"?
"Thou shalt not have any other Gods before me".
Then what is Jesus? Not a God?
Then you worship the Roman Goddesses Faith, Hope, and Charity
    to commune with Jesus!
Also known as Fides, Spes, and Empanada aka Panda.
All your "virtues" are Roman deities!
    Virtue is the God Virtus.
Christians worship Dionysus. They drink his blood.
They eat his flesh without truly knowing why.
We Pagans gave the world Liberty.
"Monotheists" never wanted any freedom at all.
They thought everything was simply "God's Will".
The Goddesses and Gods gave us free will to help us grow,
to bring forth wonderful changes in ourselves.
If it were not for New Age Paganism,
you would not own a computer, a car,
    rockets, space travel
    or have any "modern" luxury.
    Christians got rid of baths.
Your beloved baths and entire water system is Roman Paganism!
Christians were against baths for centuries!
It is hilarious that you say we are bad people.
Look at yourself. Look at your own sins.
You electrocute gay people for religion.
You put children in cages and use the Bible to justify it.
    Christians ruined their own religion.
Thy love Disney which is New Age Pagan propaganda.
But their greatest sin is living off of Gulags,
when they say they care about "Human Rights".
They only care about their own rights.

I am not into witch craft or paganism. I'm not against it but I have never looked into it or found and interest in practicing. Yet I am here because Hekate has presented to me and I had only heard her name once a few months ago. This is my intuitive feeling. We are looking into the physical realm far to often through our physical body lense, the mind and the ego. The three rivers are the opening of the energy center for you to discover. Mine has been opening and is the only reason I am researching Hekate, she has presented to me and I was not trying to do so. In fact I would not have liked this if I had read about her earlier. In the gift of a painting of a woman carrying a torch after I wrote a poem for a truama workshop called Torch Bearer. I had an inner eye vision where I discovered a key in a folded up envelope and then I woke multiple times the next night going up a white tunnel that seemed to look like a DNA strand and every time I was in the tunnel the words "Hekate's Tree" were repeated. This is an inward journey. To find her do not venture far outside of yourself, she is here to guide you through your own inner shadow. Allow her to meet you there. The journey and the work will not be easy but she is here to assist us in the awakening of humanity and the reemergence of her true form. The mystics will rise and the information will start coming through for those that are ready and have done the shadow work. Set aside your assumptions about her and all other to guide the way.

DEA INITIUM ET FINIS EST. VITA EST MAGIA EIUS.
The goddess is the beginning and the end. Life is HER magic.
Hekate is an emanation of the divine feminine.
She's the face of an incomprehensible power of creation.
When the abrahamic religions die she will stand in the light of truth once again.

Hecate Goddess is really scary at first because she has a dark side of her . When it’s night time when her energy is more stronger I feel the fear but she said I don’t have to be scared because she is with me not to hurt but to protect and teach me . From then and even now when I feel her energy is too strong she will tell me “
    “don’t be afraid”
When she wants to get my attention she will do something to let me know she’s there and she listening. she is also compassionate patient and respect what you want to do . She will also show you your paths not in one way but in 2,3 ways …it’s like she will give you selections and it’s up to you to choose . Because she hold the keys to open the door ,she will also open roads for you to know what are you going to face in the future and if you choose the 2,3 things she is showing you . She will never judge you or dictate you . She is not scary on that part .

I think only the Greeks can explain her true self. It seems that alot of non Grecians are adding in things .

. An unimpressed Rooster In Greek tradition, she wasn't a fearful figure, but a compassionate one, for starters. She was a Great Goddess, with power over Heaven, Earth and the Seas. I was always told that she was associated with wisdom, as well as magic. Her statue was placed at the entrance to the home, and honored daily for her generous blessings. My people are from Samouthrace, where there was a sanctuary to her called Zerynethos. Some people kept the rites as 'customs' when the Christian church tried to stamp the Ancient Gods and their wisdom out, but we are a superstitious people. The historical accounts that said that black dogs were sacrificed to her doesn't correspond with what I was told, and what I saw. We always had a black dog, preferably with white near/around his eyes, for his ability to see the intentions of visitors (they supposedly can see if a person means you harm). Then again, many Greeks aren't known to enjoy keeping a dog, so maybe this was just within our clan? Until the persecution of midwives by the church, black cats were seen as lucky, so things do change over time. I have a pedestal by my door for her myself.

please share your source that she was worshipped in Thrace. I'm stuck on Anatolia but she might have been Pelasgian, Hittite, is she erishikal?

Thrace was a distant part of the Greek empire, in modern day Turkey, Macedonia & Bulgaria. Her Temple is there at Lagina. She is connected to an older set of dieties Bendis and Kybele. That dogs were her sacred animal indicates she was from outside Greece.
